Shi Feng stared, his eyes wide. To think there was an enemy his Silver Whip couldn’t defeat.
‘Is this blood monster really that strong?’
Gu Kaiwen, standing beside him, saw it too. He frowned and stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Shi Feng.
“I’ll handle this. You back up a bit,” Gu Kaiwen said seriously.
Behind him, Shi Feng heard and gave a quick nod, then hefted his laser gun and retreated two or three meters.
Gu Kaiwen gripped the iron rod that Shi Feng had custom-made for him and charged toward the blood monster.
The blood monster raised its head slightly to look at Gu Kaiwen, then sidestepped to dodge an attack from the Silver Whip.
It stood there, tilting its head slightly, as blood continued to drip from its body.
“Ghhh…”
The blood monster raised a hand. The blood on its body slowly gathered, forming one bullet after another.
With a flick of a blood-soaked finger, the bullets immediately shot toward Gu Kaiwen.
Seeing the bullets coming for him, Gu Kaiwen scrambled to defend himself, swinging the iron rod in his hand.
Closing the distance as he deflected the shots, Gu Kaiwen was soon right in front of the blood monster.
He shot out a fist and smashed it right into the blood monster’s face.
It was a powerful punch, sending the blood monster flying several meters before it crashed to the ground.
Blood from its body dripped continuously, staining the soil red.
The blood monster lay stiffly on the ground, its body twitching as noises came from its mouth.
“Ghhh—”
Perhaps Gu Kaiwen’s punch had infuriated it. The blood monster squirmed on the ground, its limbs twisting like pretzels as they slowly began to elongate.
Gu Kaiwen stood beside the Silver Whip, watching as the blood monster slowly evolved into a four-legged creature.
Its pretzel-twisted limbs supported its torso, blood dripped constantly to the ground, and a long tongue slithered out from its mouth.
It now looked like a massive monster.
“Uh… it even mutated.” Gu Kaiwen, holding his iron rod, was completely baffled. ‘Now that it’s turned into this, how am I supposed to take it on?’
“Need a hand?” Shi Feng appeared beside him, laser gun in hand. His gaze fell upon the monster as he asked, then he answered his own question. “I think you do.”
With that, he reached out, grabbed his Silver Whip, gave it a mighty crack, and charged straight at the monster.
Gu Kaiwen reached out to stop him, but it was too late.
He could only let out a long sigh and follow.
Shi Feng was already grappling with the monster. Gu Kaiwen came up beside him and couldn’t help but chide, “You’re too reckless. I hadn’t even said anything and you just charged in.”
“Hahaha, with you guys around, I know I won’t die.” Shi Feng had complete trust in them.
Gu Kaiwen shook his head, but nevertheless, he kept a closer eye on him.
The two of them had exceptional chemistry, launching every attack on the monster as a coordinated pair.
The monster attacked them by lashing out with its massive tongue. Even when the Silver Whip shredded it, the tongue would quickly grow back.
After growing back, it was even more powerful than before. A single slam of the tongue smashed a huge crater into the ground where they stood.
“Holy crap, how does its tongue get stronger every time it grows back?” Shi Feng’s eyes went wide after dodging the attack.
“Stop cutting its tongue off! If you do it again, the two of us won’t be able to handle it,” Gu Kaiwen warned.
“Got it,” Shi Feng nodded. The two then changed their angle of attack, aiming directly for the monster’s limbs.
But the pretzel-twisted limbs were incredibly hard; their weapons couldn’t even scratch the blood monster.
“Damn, how did they even make a monster like this?” Shi Feng was stunned, watching his Silver Whip get repelled.
The monster’s twisted limbs were completely unharmed.
“Don’t just stop! You’ll get yourself killed!” Gu Kaiwen shouted, glancing at Shi Feng, who was standing dumbstruck with his Silver Whip. “Watch your surroundings!”
“I know,” Shi Feng had just replied when the massive tongue whipped toward him. It was incredibly fast, and Shi Feng scrambled to block the attack with his Silver Whip.
But the monster’s attack was too powerful. Even with the Silver Whip desperately trying to hold it back, it was no use.
In the end, the Silver Whip was shattered by the huge, bloody tongue. The moment the whip broke, Shi Feng froze on the spot and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his face turning deathly pale.
The Silver Whip was a manifestation of his spiritual power. Now that it was shattered, Shi Feng’s spiritual power had also been damaged.
Seeing this, Gu Kaiwen immediately rushed over and caught him.
“Hey, hey, hey—” Gu Kaiwen was frantic. He reached into his Space Ring and pulled out the Recovery Potions Feng He had prepared for them. He took out several bottles, each a different color.
Gu Kaiwen didn’t have time to think. He just uncapped the bottles and poured them one by one into Shi Feng’s mouth.
After drinking the Recovery Potions, the color returned to Shi Feng’s face a little, but only a little.
Seeing Shi Feng in this state, Gu Kaiwen was incredibly worried.
But the monster was still attacking, swinging its massive tongue toward the two of them.
Seeing the massive tongue about to slam into them, Gu Kaiwen scooped Shi Feng up in a princess carry and leaped out of the danger zone.
But the monster had no intention of letting them go. It scrambled after them on all fours, its tongue never ceasing its attacks.
“Put me down somewhere safe and go fight it,” Shi Feng said, looking at Gu Kaiwen.
“What are you talking about? Shut up!” Gu Kaiwen roared. “I can’t handle it by myself either!”
“It’s so strong, if I go alone, it’s just a suicide mission!”
Shi Feng turned his head slightly to look. The monster was incredibly fast on all fours. Its tongue had gotten much shorter, but it hung from its mouth, constantly twitching in a particularly disgusting way.
Blood dripped from its body to the ground as it moved.
‘It really is strong. Gu Kaiwen can’t handle it alone.’
“Where’s Sister Lin? And Yun Yiyou?” Shi Feng suddenly remembered their teammates. ‘If those two were here, this would be over quickly.’
“Who knows where they went,” Gu Kaiwen replied, rounding a corner as he continued to run, still carrying him.
The blood monster remained in hot pursuit, clearly having no intention of letting them go.
“AAAAAH, STOP CHASING US!” Gu Kaiwen screamed, on the verge of a breakdown as he looked back at the pursuing blood monster.
Even though he was losing it, Gu Kaiwen was still scanning the battlefield.
‘Where’s Feng He?’
‘If Feng He could just heal Shi Feng, he’d be much better off.’
