Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Your Princess Consort Will Be Fine (Bonus Chapter)

The commotion here had already alarmed the courtiers and inner circle members on the periphery of the Hunting Ground. Han Moyao, responsible for the Five Cities Military Department, was the first to bring people over.

The Little Emperor, both frightened and terrified, was also affected by the aftershock of the fireball, so he fainted immediately.

Han Moyao quickly ordered someone to inform the Imperial Physician to come and treat the people on the scene.

The courtiers and inner circle members on the periphery of the Hunting Ground, upon hearing about the incident inside, were already scared out of their wits.

Many of their sons and daughters were involved, and finally, many people shouted and rushed into the Hunting Ground.

In an instant, the entire Hunting Ground was in chaos.

As for Rong Ling, some of the assassins attempting to kill him were slain, while others were captured.

He was unharmed, and when he heard the explosion in a certain part of the Hunting Ground, Rong Ling slowly turned to look in that direction, curling his lips into a cold sneer.

He turned his horse around, pulling the reins to rush over.

Unexpectedly, a signal sounded from the sky behind him. Rong Ling instinctively looked up and saw that the signal belonged to the Prince Yong Mansion.

Rong Ling’s expression changed abruptly. If there were no incidents, the Prince Mansion Guards would never release such an urgent signal, indicating something had gone wrong there.

Rong Ling estimated the location of the signal was within the inner perimeter, could something have happened to Feng Qing?

Rong Ling’s heart sank suddenly, feeling as if a giant stone weighing a thousand pounds was pressing on his chest, leaving him breathless. He could no longer care about the Little Emperor’s affairs, turning his horse around and rushing forward.

Behind him, Nan Xuan quickly brought the Prince Mansion Guards forward for protection. At present, the Prince could not utilize Inner Strength, and they had to ensure his protection.

Nan Feng led several subordinates to take the captured assassins for interrogation, determined to make them confess the mastermind behind the plot.

Rong Ling could no longer concern himself with these matters, galloping frantically towards the first mountain pass of the Hunting Ground. The closer he got to the pass, the more tense his heart became, feeling a sense of unease.

Feng Qing, you mustn’t have anything happen to you. I have vowed to treat you well, promised to give you unmatched honor and glory, and said that the position of Princess Yong would be yours for this lifetime, so you mustn’t come to harm.

Upon reaching the cliffside at the first mountain pass, Rong Ling was met by Si Qi and Si Hua, along with several guards from the Prince Mansion, all looking at him with pale faces.

Seeing their expressions, Rong Ling’s heart gave a sudden thud, an indescribable suffocating distress overtook him, and he felt increasingly anxious.

Si Qi and Si Hua fell to their knees with a thud, crying out, "Prince, someone attempted to assassinate the Princess Consort; she was shot off the cliff with a long arrow."

"We are useless as your servants, we deserve to die."

Si Qi and Si Hua turned to leap off the cliff.

Behind them, Rong Ling swiftly dismounted, rushing to the edge of the cliff. Seeing Si Qi and Si Hua’s actions, he sternly commanded, "Silence, your Princess Consort will be fine."

Having said this, Rong Ling turned to look at Nan Xuan beside him and said, "Deploy the mansion guards to search below the cliff, and be sure to find the Princess Consort."

With a nod, Nan Xuan led people to investigate the situation below the cliff, while Rong Ling took heavy steps towards the cliff’s edge.

The mountain wind blew against him, chilling him to the core.

Images of that little woman involuntarily appeared in his mind, sometimes cunning and unruly, sometimes proud and unyielding, or sometimes gentle and considerate. Despite the terrifying spider on her face, her spirit remained lively.
