Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Please Give Me an Explanation, Empress Dowager

Empress Dowager Su’s thought settled, she looked towards Mr. Qin and said, "Old Uncle, how do you think this matter should be handled?"

Mr. Qin looked at Rong Che on the bed and said, "After all, the Emperor is the Emperor of Dayan. Although he has committed such treacherous acts, we cannot just dethrone the Emperor; if we do, our Rong Family will become a laughingstock to the world."

After hearing Mr. Qin’s words, Empress Dowager Su breathed a sigh of relief, and Mr. Qin continued to speak.

"However, the Emperor has repeatedly committed treasonous acts, even causing divine warnings. If we do not punish him, there will surely be chaos in Dayan. Our Rong Family, as part of the Imperial Family, cannot let this happen. So, this old minister believes the Emperor must issue a decree admitting his sins, repenting for what he has done to Prince Yong, and promising never to harm Prince Yong again."

Once Old Prince Qin finished speaking, before the Empress Dowager could say anything, the Little Emperor, Rong Che, roared in fury, "I will not issue it."

Upon hearing the Little Emperor’s words, Old Prince Qin spoke with a mocking expression, "If the Emperor refuses to issue a decree to confess his sins, then please order the execution of all members of our Rong Family, for we cannot watch as our kingdom is destroyed by inaction."

As soon as Old Prince Qin finished speaking, members of the Imperial Family behind him echoed in unison, "Please order the execution of all members of our Rong Family."

In the bedchamber, Rong Che’s face was extremely grim as he snarled through clenched teeth, "Since you wish for death, should I?"

Before Rong Che could finish, Empress Dowager Su sharply rebuked, "Watch your words, Emperor."

Rong Che was stunned into silence by Empress Dowager Su, unable to speak for a moment. Empress Dowager Su turned to Old Prince Qin and said, "I promise you and the other members of the Imperial Family that the Emperor will issue a decree confessing his sins, and I can guarantee that he will never again conspire to harm Prince Yong."

Rong Che opened his mouth to speak, but upon seeing the fierce gaze of his mother, he ultimately remained silent.

Upon hearing Empress Dowager Su’s words, Old Prince Qin solemnly said, "Since the Empress Dowager has spoken, we trust her."

Seeing matters have reached this point, Empress Dowager Su finally breathed a sigh of relief and softly said, "Now that this matter is settled, please, Old Prince and everyone, return."

As the Empress Dowager finished speaking, Old Prince Qin and the other members of the Imperial Family were about to rise and leave, when a cold voice rang out from beyond the bedchamber doors.

"Wait."

Several figures quickly entered. At the head was Rong Ling, dressed in cold frost-colored robes. Rong Ling’s brows and eyes swept coldly over everyone in the bedchamber, finally raising his head to look icily at Empress Dowager Su.

"I ask the Empress Dowager to give me an explanation. Before, my Princess Consort was shot and killed at the Royal Hunting Ground. I’ve had people investigate the assailant, only to find that the perpetrator who ordered the assassination of my wife was none other than the Fifth Princess of the current dynasty."

Once Rong Ling finished speaking, Empress Dowager Su’s mind buzzed, her face turning extremely pale.

Originally, Rong Che’s situation was already enough to give her a headache, and now her daughter had gotten into such trouble as well.

Empress Dowager Su’s body went weak, nearly causing her to collapse to the ground.

In the bedchamber, Old Prince Qin and Prince Zhao, along with others, exclaimed at the disgrace. The siblings showed no regard for human life, with one being the Emperor and the other a Princess, treating lives so callously, truly disgraceful.

Seeing Empress Dowager Su remain silent, Rong Ling spoke again, "I ask the Empress Dowager to give me an explanation."
