Interstellar Era: Starting As a Cleaner

Chapter 121: Biological Mecha Cultivation Base

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Biological Mecha Cultivation Base

"What are we going to do about this?"

"Yeah, your Ash Organization provided faulty intel," One-Eyed and Baldy said, looking at the man in front of them.

"I’m just the head of this branch, and I’m also waiting for news from headquarters. For now, you two need to settle down here. It will take at least three months before we might be able to smuggle you out." The man frowned deeply. This intelligence failure was a massive blunder with severe repercussions for the organization, and they still didn’t know the exact cause.

"Waiting three months isn’t out of the question, but what about our losses? Both of our Main Battle Ships were blown to pieces." Baldy and One-Eyed only cared about their own military power. As for the faulty intelligence, that could be discussed later.

"Regarding the Warships, we can even provide certain services to help you obtain new ones for free," the Ash Organization branch leader offered.

"You just mean having the other two nations give us Warships so we can raid the Alliance’s trade routes. We’re not doing that," Baldy replied.

"Exactly! We Pirates value our freedom. If we wanted to work for the other two nations, why would we even become Pirates?" One-Eyed agreed with a nod.

"There’s no rush on the Warships. The fallout from this incident is simply too vast. I’m completely in the dark on my end, but once headquarters gets back to us, we’ll know exactly what happened. You have to trust that the Ash Organization hasn’t survived all these years for nothing—we will undoubtedly take responsibility for what we owe.

"We can even introduce you to the leaders of the Mutant Tribes. I’m sure you know just how many treasures they hoard: rare Energy Metals, mutated rare Energy Stones, and rare Mutated Beasts. If you smuggle those goods to the other two nations, you could trade them for absolutely anything you desire," the branch leader continued.

Baldy and One-Eyed exchanged a glance and nodded. The Green Demon Star produced many rare resources, but the territory had long been carved up by various major factions. On the surface, the Alliance occupied the planet, but in reality, every major power had established a branch here.

When the anomalies of the Green Demon Star were first discovered, the pioneers’ immediate priority had been to secure their own interests. They sold the information on the black market first before finally notifying the military. Consequently, the various black market organizations reacted far faster than the armed forces.

Over time, these hidden factions and the Alliance formed a tacit understanding on the planet, maintaining a baseline of mutual restraint. After all, these shadowy organizations wielded significant influence within the Alliance itself.

The Ash Organization was one of the Alliance’s top three gray-market syndicates. They were a Top Level organization, especially in the fields of intelligence and rare materials. There was nothing they couldn’t procure—it only depended on whether one could afford the price.

"Getting to know a Mutant leader would certainly be for the best," Baldy and One-Eyed agreed, exchanging another look. If the Ash Organization was willing to make the introduction, that was an added bonus.

"Just rest easy and wait here. Headquarters will definitely get to the bottom of this; we can’t afford to ruin our reputation." The branch leader found the entire situation bizarre. The Alliance had mobilized a main Fleet without the slightest advance warning, which was absurd considering the immense logistical requirements involved in moving such forces.

He was also worried about the other party involved in this incident: the local Mutants. With things spiraling out of control, there was no telling what chaos the Mutants might unleash. The Ash Organization was currently facing a monumental crisis.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo was wandering through the Underworld, looking for an easy target. After following an underground river for over an hour, he finally stumbled upon a location with signs of human activity.

He stored away his Mecha, immediately activated his Invisibility, and crept along a man-made path. He hadn’t gone far before he spotted two Mutants guarding the entrance to a cave.

"A checkpoint?" Yang Bo thought. The two Mutants didn’t seem to possess any beast-like traits, yet they were fully equipped with Energy Armor and Energy Weapons. He immediately sensed that things were not quite so simple today.

During his last visit to the Tiger-faced King’s tribe, Yang Bo had realized that only the tribal elites were equipped with Energy Weapons and Energy Armor. The vast majority of the other tribe members wore a motley assortment of outfits. Some wore various clothes and uniforms looted from the Human Alliance, while others simply wore animal skins.

In a typical Mutant Tribe, about sixty percent of the members wore Ordinary clothing or animal pelts. The remaining forty percent wielded Energy Weapons and Energy Armor, and half of those elites were equipped with Biological Mecha.

"Judging by their attire, these two sentries don’t belong to any familiar tribe," Yang Bo noted. He recognized the outfits of the Tiger-faced King’s tribe. Every tribe used distinct colors on their clothes and Battle Armor to signify their allegiance.

Under the cover of Invisibility, Yang Bo slipped right past the two Mutant sentries and entered the cave. The passage inside was quite spacious, measuring seven or eight meters high and five or six meters wide.

He followed the level tunnel for about two hundred meters until he spotted two more Mutants, this time clad in Biological Mecha.

"This is weird!" Yang Bo thought, feeling a growing sense of suspicion. Deploying Biological Mecha simply to guard a tunnel? There had to be something incredible hidden deeper inside. Could it be a tribe’s storage vault?

Biological Mecha were incredibly valuable in the Underworld. Using such heavy-duty equipment for guard duty meant there were massive secrets hidden within. The mere thought of it made Yang Bo buzz with excitement.

"What is this?" he wondered. After sneaking past the two Mutants in Biological Mecha and walking another hundred meters, Yang Bo arrived at a vast underground cavern. However, the sight before him left him completely astounded.

It was still a natural cave, but the interior was filled with modern, high-tech containers that looked like Cultivation Pods.

These Cultivation Pods were filled with fluids of various colors, with an array of silver-white tubes connected to the tops. From a glance, the space resembled a massive factory floor, complete with personnel in Protective Suits walking briskly back and forth.

"These guys don’t look like Mutants," Yang Bo observed, scrutinizing the faces visible behind the visors of their Protective Suits. None of them displayed any mutant characteristics.

However, he recalled his female superior mentioning that some Mutants didn’t have beast-like traits. Could they be that specific type of special Mutant?

Taking a few more steps forward, Yang Bo quickly realized what these Cultivation Pods were for. Floating inside them were individual components of Biological Mecha.

The sight of these components was intensely eerie. Suspended within the fluid of the Cultivation Pods, they released numerous tendrils that wriggled and thrashed about merrily.

"Are the Mutants’ Biological Mecha being custom-made here?" Yang Bo wondered, his scalp tingling as he stared at the dense rows of Cultivation Pods. This was absolutely not your average Mutant Tribe.

As he continued walking, he estimated there were easily over a thousand Cultivation Pods in the cavern, tended to by a staff of more than a hundred people.

"This must be a secret factory belonging to some major organization!" Yang Bo concluded, a solid theory forming in his mind after surveying the entire operation.
