Interstellar Era: Starting As a Cleaner

Chapter 92: King Kong-Class Main Battle Ship

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: King Kong-Class Main Battle Ship

Yang Bo and a few others got off the maintenance vehicle and, following the staff’s instructions, walked toward a passageway.

At the entrance to the passageway, they first went through a smart recognition system. After their identities were confirmed via facial and iris scans, they were each given a card to hang around their necks.

Next, they entered a disinfection system. It was similar to an air shower, but the air contained specific substances designed to eliminate any lingering radiation on their bodies.

Space Baisha Transport Ships sometimes had to destroy entire shipfuls of cargo because the ships themselves had no way to block space radiation when passing through high-radiation zones, which would inevitably lead to cargo contamination.

After changing into new clothes, they followed the staff’s directions and walked out of the passageway.

Yang Bo and a dozen others boarded a liaison boat. The boat was about fifty meters long, five or six meters wide, and five or six meters high. It looked somewhat like a ferry on Earth, except it was fully enclosed.

"What a huge Warship!"

"This is our Alliance’s King Kong-class Main Battle Ship!"

"A Main Battle Ship! I wonder which Fleet this Fleet is!" Just as Yang Bo entered the liaison boat, he heard someone exclaim. He quickly sat down and looked outside through the small porthole.

In the dark, starry sky, there were five massive Warships. One of them was about eight or nine thousand meters long, and the others were also four or five thousand meters long!

Unlike the usual flat-looking Baisha Transport Ships, these Warships looked more like giant nails!

The diameters of these Warships ranged from seven to eight hundred meters!

Don’t be fooled by the fact that these Warships were much smaller than Baisha Transport Ships; the Laser Cannons, Plasma Cannons, and even Star Destroyer Cannons on board were all Weapons of immense power. Furthermore, a single Warship carried many Space Fighters, which were divided into manned and unmanned types.

In addition, they also carried varying numbers of Advanced Mechas. These were multifunctional Mechas capable of combat in space as well as on the ground, completely different from the ones seen on the civilian market.

The Mechas used by the escort team on the Baisha Transport Ship were only of the eighth or ninth generation, while the military was said to already possess eighteenth or nineteenth-generation Mechas!

Yang Bo hadn’t known this before; he had just overhead it from the people talking around him.

"We’re actually going to board a Warship?"

"I’m so excited! We actually get to board a Warship in person!"

"It’s a pity we can’t take pictures. Otherwise, we could show them to our friends. This is too cool!"

"Wait a minute, why did the boat in front of us go to the Pirate Battleship?"

"Exactly! Why did the people who were with us go over there?"

Seeing this, Yang Bo’s heart skipped a beat. "Could I have been exposed?"

The speed of the liaison boat was quite fast, but the distance between the Baisha Transport Ship and the Warship was relatively far—at least tens of thousands of kilometers. Generally speaking, Warships maintained a secure perimeter. The radius of the perimeter varied according to the different classes of ships. Yang Bo didn’t know the exact details.

Yang Bo realized that his liaison boat was the first one to come this way; the rest had all gone to the Pirate Battleship!

Looking back, he was relieved to see a second liaison boat following them. Yang Bo breathed a sigh of relief. It probably wasn’t targeting him!

An entrance opened on the massive Warship. The liaison boat slowly entered and docked next to a passageway. Outside, a robot connected a corridor-like device to the boat’s hatch, and then the hatch opened.

Following the others, Yang Bo was led by the staff into the interior of the Warship.

"Fellow citizens, due to the limited capacity of the Pirate Battleship, you will temporarily stay on our Warship. Please remain quiet and stay in your current cabins!

"Please do not wander around. The rest of the areas are highly classified military secrets. Should you enter them rashly, you will face investigation and even trial by judicial authorities and military courts," a captain wearing Battle Armor told Yang Bo’s group.

Someone immediately asked, "How long until we reach March Star?"

"I cannot disclose that, as our Fleet is currently executing a secret mission. Once the secret mission is concluded, the Warship will dispatch dedicated Spaceships to send everyone home!" The captain’s face was unseeable, as their head was completely encased in Battle Armor.

The surrounding soldiers were all wearing Battle Armor as well. It was impossible to see what they looked like or who they were. However, judging from the shapes of their Battle Armors, some of them were female!

"What about the others? The ones on the Pirate Battleship?" Hearing this, someone felt a sense of foreboding. The military’s mission might be dangerous!

"They will proceed to March Star. However, before our Warship arrives, all of them will be kept in isolated quarantine and will not disembark onto the planet. You will all land on the planet together when the time comes.

"Because their citizen tier is higher, it is not convenient for them to come here. Nothing you see on this side has ever been revealed to the public," the captain continued explaining.

Yang Bo immediately understood. Those with chips couldn’t come here because their memories were too good. They could memorize many details, including the movement patterns of these soldiers, which could very likely be used to analyze and deduce the soldiers’ identities.

Yang Bo didn’t mind this at all. This Warship felt much safer. The Pirate Battleship was in a dilapidated state; what if they encountered other Pirates on the way?

"Everyone, please proceed to your respective cabins to rest. Remember, absolutely do not go anywhere else, so as to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings!" the captain spoke again.

Guided by a soldier, Yang Bo arrived at his room. The room was much smaller than the one on the Baisha Transport Ship. It only had a single bed, a desk equipped with a computer, and a bathroom. There was nothing else.

The Warship was different, however. It was equipped with an Anti-Gravity system, meaning the environment here felt exactly like being on a planet.

Passenger Spaceships had this too, but only the high-end ones. This system was said to consume an immense amount of Energy and could also interfere with data and information, requiring highly advanced configurations to operate. Yang Bo didn’t know the exact details of how the system worked. Even if he had heard about it back then, he wouldn’t have remembered. After all, he used to be just an ordinary resident.

However, everything here was magnetic. For instance, a cup placed on the table would automatically lock into place, presumably as a precaution against the Anti-Gravity system failing.

Although the living conditions couldn’t compare to those on the Baisha Transport Ship, Yang Bo felt incredibly relaxed. Being on such a Warship provided an overwhelming sense of security. This thing could blow up not just Pirates, but entire planets! Aside from Space Battleships, this was the strongest combat Power humanity had achieved so far.

He washed up in his room and took a hot bath. Now, all he had to do was wait to reach his destination. Yang Bo’s heart was filled with unprecedented contentment; he was overjoyed.

"Once I arrive at March Star, I can buy a house and settle down for the time being!" In truth, Yang Bo didn’t like fighting and killing; he just wanted a quiet, peaceful life. Besides, the income level in this world wasn’t low.
