Chapter 2234: Free Passage
Crossing over the empty border between the Northern Central Region and the Western Central Region before starting to move in the direction of the Star Shattering Sect, Su Han suddenly came to realize that even with his strength comparable to someone in the Star Creation Realm, it was far harder for him to traverse the Northern Central Region than he had originally anticipated.
Not because the local powers posed any threat to him, as those local major powers had at most reached the Land Creation Realm.
Instead, it was because the demonic cultivators were blocking one path towards the Star Shattering Sect with their recent expansion into the Northern Central Region that had ended up swallowing up the vast territory of the Blue Sea Empire in the process. Creating a clear boundary that couldn’t be carelessly crossed without risking a fallout with those demonic cultivators, while another path that remained open was considered a forbidden ground because of the presence of an ancient hidden sect in the area.
"..."
Looking at the sudden difficult to travel path that stood before him without the awesome abilities of someone skilled in the Dao of Space that would be able to easily slip past the small bit of land under the control of the demonic cultivators without being noticed, Su Han couldn’t help silently sighing to himself. Annoyance clearly visible on his face as he set off towards the borders of former Blue Sea Empire. Knowing that it would be far easier to deal with the demonic cultivator compared to that ancient hidden sect.
Of course, he could always go around both parties, but that would either require going around the entire Frozen Wastelands from below, something that would take months even with his speed or go over through the Southern Central Region. Potentially provoking those religious fanatics in the process.
Keeping this in mind, dealing with the demonic cultivators was by far the easiest solution to this problem and wouldn’t require him to spend months going around the Frozen Wasteland.
Thud~! Bang!
And unsurprisingly, the easiest way to get ahold of the demonic cultivator in charge of the area was to catch one of the unfortunate little True Demon Realm demonic cultivators wandering around the edges of the Blue Sea Empire’s borders to intimidate the surrounding cultivators thinking about entering to search for opportunities left behind by the now fallen Blue Sea Empire.
"Whaaa-! Spare me senior!"
"I’m not here to kill you, just inform the one in charge I want to see him!" Rolling his eyes at the cowardly demonic fellow grasped within the large golden palm that had been condensed by him and used to capture the other party, Su Han just had the other party get the one in charge so he could get this over with.
"Huh? Y-y-y-you want to see the great demon king?! O-okay, I will inform him immediately senior!" And knowing the other party wasn’t there to kill him, the demonic cultivator at the True Demon Realm didn’t hesitate in the slightest before informing the one all the way in the capital of the former Blue Sea Empire about the situation.
But... As that old demon happened to be busy, the one who ended up answering was a subordinate Demon King Realm demonic cultivator.
Luckily, though the other party rushed over with a belly full of anger, the second he spotted the monk floating in the sky still grasping the True Demon Realm demonic cultivator, his expression shifted completely. Turning into one of fear followed by submission as he did a flying dogeza. Coming to a stop a few meters below Su Han.
"This lowly little demon has seen the splendid golden buddha, what does this exalted buddha of the west need from this lowly junior?" And without the slightest bit of hesitation, words that were completely contradictory to his ferocious appearance flowed out seamlessly.
""...""
Stunning both Su Han and the demonic cultivator that had been captured by him, as neither of them had expected this sudden turn of events, though the shock was lesser for Su Han, as he quickly realized that the demonic cultivator should have realized he was a senior figure from the Western Central Region. Not one of the monks they had clashed with in the past from the Heavenly Dragon Temple and the different temples following it in attempting to expand into the Northern Central Region.
If anything, the reaction made sense given how people at his realm rarely ever appeared in a place like the Northern Central Region...
"I want passage through this place, I’m just here to inform you ahead of time to avoid any potential misunderstandings." Shaking his head as he thought about this, Su Han still stated his purpose in requesting the appearance of the other party.
"That... Aaa.. I... Wait... Of course! Senior, you are more than welcome to pass through." And as the brain of the demonic cultivator at the Demon King Realm seemed to malfunction for a good few seconds trying to comprehend what he had just said, he soon nodded his head eagerly while motioning for him to continue forward.
Whoosh~
And this was all Su Han needed, as the formal procedures had been followed and even if those powerful demons sensed his presence, they wouldn’t bother with him nor try to find trouble with his appearance within what they considered their territory.
After all, different from most of these demonic cultivators who clearly had no idea what the actual power of the Frozen Wastelands was, he was fully aware of just how powerful this demonic faction was.
Even more so, he understood that the so-called frozen wasteland that expanded alongside the demonic cultivators and had already spread throughout the fallen Blue Sea Empire was in fact the ultimate trump card of these demonic cultivators and at the same time also gave them absolute control over this environment.
Although someone like himself or someone skilled in the Dao of Space could break free and run, it depended on how invested in keeping them from running those demonic cultivators were.
Of course, like him and the rest of the monks from the Western Central Region, the demonic cultivators or the Frozen Wasteland wouldn’t dare carelessly utilize this trump card of theirs, as the second they began utilizing the true abilities of this frozen wasteland, the nine core faiths would notice... And the second they realized what this frozen wasteland was and the threat it possessed, they wouldn’t hesitate to strike it down.
Sure, in theory, the Frozen Wasteland was still sealed to some extent, but how much of that seal keeping it from expanding was a mystery to anyone but those demonic cultivators.
At the very least. Given the recent expansion into the Northern Central Region, it was clear the seal wasn’t powerful enough to keep them contained any longer.
If anything, the fact that the demonic cultivators had even revealed something like this willingly by expanding into the Northern Central Region was odd in itself, but with the unrest of the demonic cultivators in the other central regions, it was clear that they were preparing for another attack on the Southern Central Region.
In fact, it wasn’t just the demonic cultivators, but countless other forces that had remained hidden so far had also slowly started revealing themselves. Showing signs of getting ready for another clash with those nine core faiths.
In a way, the Western Central Region was in a similar situation. Only, the temples were far more passive in their movements and hadn’t exactly revealed much of what they were doing compared to the demonic cultivators who had directly started to encroach upon the Southern Central Regions borders.
Still, like always, the most mysterious and difficult to read remained the hidden ancient sects scattered throughout the continent, as the only inkling they were also moving, was the recent chaos one of the hidden ancient sects had caused within the Southern Central Region.
Although it looked like nothing strange on the surface, to someone who had interacted with ancient hidden sects in the past, it was clear that this attack was not just an act of revenge, but also a subtle prodding from the ancient hidden sects targeted at the nine core faiths.
If he wasn’t wrong, in the near future, more ancient hidden sects would emerge to enact revenge on the different religious churches within the Southern Central Region.
All to try and draw out some kind of response from the Nine Core Faiths that had seemingly decided to shut themselves off even more than usual over the past few years as they seemed busy working on something.
Speaking of what those nine were up to, Su Han himself had no idea nor did the rest of the monks from the Western Central Region.
The only thing they knew was that the Nine Core Faiths had invited a large number of formation masters from both inside and outside the continent to help them repair some kind of formation.
