Chapter 557: Chapter 119: The Great Dao is Merciless, Born into an Other Cosmos (Part 2)
"Whoa, does this mean the Cosmos Will has had its eyes on us all along?"
"Is that why we know so many of these ’mythological stories’?"
The God of Thousand Faces was stunned for a moment, then began to laugh.
"Who knows? But I believe that after reaching the Authority Level, many Deities have probably heard some of the ’mythological stories’ that circulate among mortals."
"All in all, there’s really not much to say about it."
"Whether it’s planets or the Cosmos, on some level, they all exist under the same ’sky’ and in the same Space. It’s inevitable that they share commonalities."
"Different Cosmoses, different worlds—naturally, many different stories exist."
"It’s just that for most of the stories we know, the later parts have been intentionally altered."
Lince suddenly spoke up, looking at the Three Gods of the Cosmos as he added,
"Also, it’s just as Thousand Faces said before."
"The Laws that can lead to the Pillar Divine Realm are far more numerous than we previously guessed."
"Among them, the Law of Fate is an incredibly strong type of Law Power!"
"And the stories we know, when you get down to it, are really just things the Cosmos Will intentionally lets us know through the Power of fate."
At this point, Lince couldn’t help but sigh.
"As a higher-dimensional existence, the Cosmos Will can easily use the Power of fate to peek into the affairs of other cosmic worlds."
"But as stories, their beginnings are definitely exaggerated. The middle parts that follow, however, are likely true events that have happened, or are even happening now."
"As for the endings of these stories, many of them have become distorted."
"Because This Cosmos can use the Power of fate to peek into Other Cosmoses, those Other Cosmoses can naturally peek into our world as well. They even have the Ability to distort and block what the Power of fate reveals."
"Therefore, aside from the beginning and middle parts, which have some credibility, as for the rest... well, most of them end with the doom of the gods. You should know what that implies."
"As stories, you have to admit, they’re really quite interesting, aren’t they?"
As Lince said this, he couldn’t help but sigh again.
"Honestly, when I chose the Divine Title ’Nidhogg’ for myself back then, it seems rather ridiculous thinking about it now."
"This..."
Well, the Three Gods of the Cosmos now understood what Lince was saying.
Those so-called mythological stories they knew, which supposedly came from mortals, seemed to be fabrications and products of mortal imagination.
But in reality, how should one put it?
In reality, it was simply the Cosmos Will influencing mortals through the Power of fate.
It caused them to create, or even dream up and imagine, these stories, which, in various forms, were then encountered and learned by numerous Deities on their path to the Authority Level and Pillar God status.
When all was said and done,
all of this was simply to inform all the Deities:
that beyond their Cosmos, there were many other different Cosmoses and other powerful Deities.
This was, in a way, laying the groundwork for the future.
As for Lince choosing the name Nidhogg...
...every single one of the Three Gods of the Cosmos had done the same.
All three of them had changed their names.
In fact, they were all names of beings from different mythological stories...
’If the original versions ever ran into them, wouldn’t it be mortifyingly awkward?’
’Would they even fight to the death over the title of original versus copy?’
Lince was able to know all this.
This was, of course, because after he became qualified, the Cosmos Will had bestowed these truths upon him in a massive flood of information.
However, fortunately, the five Cosmoses currently adjacent to Lince’s own did not include any of the mythological worlds he knew about.
There wasn’t even a Black Dragon or a World Tree.
Otherwise...
...that would have been more than a little awkward.
The discussion with the Three Gods of the Cosmos did not last long.
Lince most likely wouldn’t be able to help the God of Thousand Faces on his path of Unity.
After all, he only had a little over a hundred years to prepare before he had to go to the Other Cosmos.
Although the God of Thousand Faces still needed about four hundred years to prepare,
Lince didn’t know what the time difference was between the Other Cosmos and This Cosmos.
Even if there was a time difference, Lince felt that injuring the origin of the Other Cosmos—even if everything went smoothly—was definitely not something that could be accomplished in a short amount of time.
A few thousand, or even tens of thousands of years, might be considered normal.
The God of Thousand Faces wasn’t concerned about this, however.
He stated frankly that if Lince could make it back before his Unity,
it would be acceptable even if he came back dead.
Any little bit of help would be good.
After all, even if Lince died and returned, having failed his mission,
he would still be an existence at the Authority Level Peak!
He could even be considered a Half-step Pillar God.
With Lince as his protector, he would naturally be safer.
As for what would happen if Lince succeeded and couldn’t return on schedule,
well, that matter could be dropped.
After all, it would mean that Lince had very likely advanced to become a Pillar God.
For one of their own Deities to ascend to Pillar God,
no matter how you looked at it, was a great thing!
Furthermore, if the God of Thousand Faces and the other two of the Three Gods also faced a trial of damaging an Other Cosmos when ascending to Pillar God,
then having Lince go first to bring back extremely valuable information would be a great outcome!
Even if Lince failed this time,
as long as he passed the information on to them, giving the three of them a chance to ascend to Pillar God,
then in the future, they could help each other out, one by one.
The situation would naturally improve a great deal.
It had to be said,
the relationship between Lince and the Three Gods of the Cosmos had, by now,
become increasingly strong and stable.
