Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan

Chapter 570 - 3: Battle of the Third Heaven the Frost Silkworm Pantheon is Wiped Out

"I have plotted for so long. Now that I finally have a chance to deal you a heavy blow, do you really think I would let an opportunity like this go?"

As he spoke, the bloated, enormous Ice Silkworm slowly came to a halt.

Across the distance, his sharp gaze fixed on Lince. Even as he scanned his surroundings, as if to confirm something, he continued to speak.

"But enough of this nonsense. I'm more curious as to what gives you the courage to stop hiding and show your face again."

"Have your injuries healed? That's much faster than I expected, but that can't be the source of your confidence to appear before me like this."

"Call out all your helpers! I'd like to see what blind fools still dare to help you after our last battle!"

"This time, I will not let you escape again!"

The God of Frost Silkworm's gaze toward Lince was filled with killing intent.

In truth, there wasn't much to say.

After all, their enmity began in the primordial age of this world.

No, to be precise, it began after the Flying Lizard, one of the Fire Deities, and the Frost Silkworm, one of the Water Deities, both ascended to become existences of the Third Heaven.

There had been no shortage of conflicts, from wars of faith on the ground to friction in the Celestial Realm.

However, constrained by the so-called pact and declarations of the Deities,

both sides had only traded minor victories and defeats for many years.

Neither had ever gone to extremes.

Furthermore, the reason the Frost Silkworm hated the Scorched Lizard so intensely,

was, in the end, because the Scorched Lizard had been victorious in their many previous struggles.

The constant accumulation of minor grudges and wounds had eventually snowballed into a great feud.

And so, the declaration made by the Deities of this world was bound to become a joke sooner or later.

Lince looked at the Frost Silkworm before him and found it all rather interesting.

So, he decided to taunt him a little more.

"So, Frost Silkworm, you really plan to kill me this time?"

"Do you have no regard for the pact between the Deities? Or for the joint divine contract between Wind Crane and Shi Hu?"

Lince put on a chiding expression, a bluff to appear strong while feeling weak.

Hearing Lince say this, the Frost Silkworm froze for a moment.

Then, as if he had just heard something hilarious, he immediately burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

"A pact among Deities? Wind Crane and Shi Hu?"

"Scorched Lizard, you're as brainless as ever!"

"Surely you don't think a mere pact among Deities will make me let you go?"

"As for Wind Crane and Shi Hu, haha, Scorched Lizard, it seems you still have no idea!"

"There is no Shi Hu anymore."

"Now, within the Third Heaven, the only Strong Person left is Wind Crane!"

"Otherwise, how do you think I could have made such grand promises to turn your Subordinate Gods against you and strike such a heavy blow!"

"Hahaha, Scorched Lizard, if your courage to return is based solely on the belief that the pact among Deities can protect you, then this time, you will obediently become a part of my body!"

As his voice faded.

The Ice Silkworm was a decisive creature.

After seemingly confirming there was nothing amiss in the area, he instantly traversed Space and lunged, biting for Lince's neck.

In that same instant, the Flying Lizard's entire body was already coated in a layer of white Frost!

The Ice Silkworm had prepared for this all along.

He was just waiting for a single, successful strike to instantly devour Lince, the Flying Lizard.

It all happened so suddenly, so quickly.

Even the consciousness of Witch Slaughter hadn't had time to react.

At the same time, the dozen or so Subordinate Gods who had been with the Ice Silkworm appeared around the frozen Giant Lizard.

It was obvious.

The flesh and blood of a Third Heaven giant beast, a Witch God, was a potent restorative.

And these Subordinate Gods wanted a piece of the prize!

Brilliant, multicolored lights emerged all over the frozen Giant Lizard's Divine Body as these monstrous, bestial Deities prepared to carve it up.

Some went for the Giant Lizard's limbs, others for its chest and abdomen, and still others for its wings.

They swarmed every part of it. frⅇe

However!

Just as the Frost Silkworm and his host of Subordinate Gods thought they could easily take down the Giant Lizard—which seemed recovered on the surface but was merely putting on a strong front—

The next moment, a ferocious inferno erupted without warning!

Like a miniature Sun.

The terrifying flames devoured everything!

"NO!!!"

"This Power! How is this possible!"

"Weren't his injuries supposed to be severe? AHHH!!!"

"..."

The inferno swept through that entire region of the Third Heaven.

Every last one of the so-called Witch Gods was devoured by the terrifying inferno.

The same fate befell even the Witch God Guards who hadn't drawn close.

The sea of fire incinerated that entire stretch of the Celestial Realm.

At first, screams and cries of disbelief could still be heard rising and falling within the flames.

But soon, those sounds faded one after another.

The only one left was Witch Slaughter, a consciousness-form now enveloped in flames. He stood motionless and unharmed, simply frozen in place as if his brain had shut down.
