A twenty percent chance?
For Authority Level Deities, those odds weren't low at all.
After all, before becoming beings of the Eighteenth Heaven, hadn't they all faced impossible odds to reach their current positions?
Of course.
With the exception of a certain someone who was basically cheating the system.
"Twenty percent?"
"It seems Ryan thinks quite highly of this one."
"What about the rest of you?"
Another voice chimed in.
"Fifteen percent. No more than that."
"I disagree. I have a feeling this little one is different. I'd give him thirty percent."
"Thirty percent? You're giving him too much credit."
"What's this? Are you, you old goat, planning to side with him the second he reaches the Eighteenth Heaven?"
"..."
「In the Witch God Cosmos.」
The contest for the path to becoming a Pillar God was clearly more interesting here.
It seemed these Ancient Gods of the Eighteenth Heaven hardly cared who would be the first to ascend to the Pillar Divine Realm.
For now, they all coexisted peacefully, even holding joint discussions and gatherings from time to time.
But in the end, it was only because the special rules of the Witch God World brought these most powerful Authority Level beings together.
This was very different from the Star Cosmos.
After all, in the Star Cosmos, most beings at the Ancient God Power Level were scattered far and wide, with no effective means of communication.
Naturally, there was no chance for them to communicate.
Operating under the philosophy of the Dark Forest Law, it was only natural that in the Star Cosmos, many beings at the Ancient God Power Level would strike first upon meeting.
After all, they were all afraid that if they were too slow to act, they would become nothing more than a stepping stone for another's ascension to the Pillar Divine Realm.
No Ancient God would take that gamble.
In short, when Ancient Gods met, they either cautiously and quickly departed, or they attacked without hesitation.
Cooperation was almost unheard of.
Of course, during a Pillar God's trial, Authority Level beings who followed the same Law would cooperate to oppose the one attempting to ascend to the Pillar Divine Realm.
But that couldn't really be called cooperation. It was merely an alignment of interests.
They simply didn't want a being to appear at the apex of their Law who could potentially control their very lives and deaths.
But in the Witch God Cosmos, it wasn't that these Witch Gods didn't worry about a Pillar God suddenly dropping in from on high.
But such worries were entirely unnecessary.
This was because while the Ancient Gods of the Eighteenth Heaven in the Witch God Cosmos did compete, they were comparatively restrained.
The reason was simple.
Over the endless eons, quite a few Deities in the Witch God Cosmos had attempted to ascend to the Pillar Divine Realm.
But how many truly succeeded?
To this day, there were only three.
And how many had died or abruptly disappeared in the process?
The Eighteenth Heaven Witch Gods gathered here were all well aware of the numbers.
The number of Eighteenth Heaven beings who had fallen during a Pillar God's trial was no less than the number who currently existed.
The failure rate was terrifyingly high.
Moreover, the Witch God Cosmos was unlike the Star Cosmos.
Any Authority Level being who failed the process of ascension to a Pillar God would be stripped of their Power to revive.
In other words,
In this Cosmos, although Authority Level beings from the Fifteenth to the Eighteenth Heaven could revive after death, this revival was limited only to cases where they fell in battle against one another.
However, once a Deity began the ritual to become a Pillar God, then, upon failure, they would lose everything.
When it came to the trials of a Pillar God, the rules of the Witch God Cosmos were exceptionally harsh.
The reason for this, however, was simple.
After all, the Witch God Cosmos already had its own, more radical, "Cultivating Gu" method for nurturing Authority Level beings.
Therefore, this Cosmos wasn't at all concerned about a shortage of Authority Level Deities.
The Pillar God it required had to be a being who embodied both great fortune and immense strength.
It didn't want a Pillar God who relied solely on luck, or solely on strength.
As the smallest Cosmos in the chaotic void, the will of this Cosmos possessed a profound sense of crisis.
And this was perhaps the true reason for its radical desire to cultivate Pillar Gods who were, without exception, exceptional in all aspects—truly powerful beings.
The three previous Pillar Gods might not have been the absolute strongest,
but at least they were decent in terms of both fortune and strength.
Besides, these three Pillar Gods hadn't ascended through the Sun and Moon Rules.
Thus, the will of this Cosmos's rules had clearly relaxed the conditions for them somewhat.
After all, it was just like in the Star Cosmos.
Just as there are those sent out on missions, there must also be those who stay to defend.
The three previous Pillar Gods were, perhaps, the Cosmos's primary means of defense against foreign threats.
And as for the expeditionary forces?
The answer was self-evident.
In the Witch God Cosmos, the most powerful Sun and Moon Rules were inevitably reserved for Deities meant for external warfare.
And to ascend to the Pillar Divine Realm through these two Laws, the requirements would naturally be incredibly strict.
Even though Lince was currently unaware that he was being watched by many from the Eighteenth Heaven, through his continuous process of ascending to new Authority Levels in this world, he had already more or less figured out that the requirements for the Pillar Divine Realm corresponding to the Sun Authority would be exceptionally demanding.
Lince even began to suspect he was being trapped in another nested-doll scheme.
By a "nested-doll scheme," he naturally meant one thing: if he wanted to ascend to this world's Sun Pillar Divine Realm, would the will of the Witch God Cosmos also make him go and wreak havoc in another Cosmos?
If that were truly the case, Lince would be utterly exasperated.
'But none of that matters now.
After all, I didn't come here aiming for this world's Sun Pillar Divine Realm anyway.
I only need to step into the Eighteenth Heaven.
I just need to directly begin the so-called trial of a Pillar God.'
