Game: Civilization Paradise

Chapter 432: Sneak Attack

Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Sneak Attack

Dimulu viciously kicked Hopka.

Hopka was sent flying.

"Captain, are you alright?"

Woperi rushed forward, catching Hopka and asking with concern.

"Damn it, I’m fine!"

Hopka replied, his face dark.

"Hmph, you’re not looking so tough!"

Chen Hong and Antilo approached, piloting their Mechanical Gods.

Seeing them approach, Hopka noticed that the prisoners had all been rescued and spoke up.

"Let’s take him down together!"

"Alright!"

Chen Hong and Antilo agreed with vicious grins.

The four of them charged toward Dimulu.

Dimulu opened his mouth and let out a terrifying roar. A mist of black particles burst from his body as he furiously charged to meet the four of them.

「...」

「The central plaza of the ruins.」

Long Ming stared thoughtfully at the Pyramid before him.

He had examined every single hieroglyph on it.

The images told an ancient legend.

The story seemed to be about the origin of the Death Filth Spirits.

Long ago, there was a race that suffered from natural disasters. Later, in their desperation, they were chosen by a god, but they ultimately failed the god’s selection.

’If I’m not mistaken, these Death Filth Spirits must be a race that failed to ascend in Civilization Paradise.’

’But under normal circumstances, a failed civilization should have been erased.’

The latter hieroglyphs told an ancient prophecy. This extinct race had worshipped a certain deity who ruled over death.

They believed that after death, people did not truly die but merely dispersed into the cosmos in particle form.

But under the influence of some kind of Power, these scattered spirit particles gathered together in a certain way. Ultimately, these spirit particles mixed together and gave birth to new life.

At that moment, the surrounding gray mist grew thicker.

Long Ming felt increasingly unwell. He was inexplicably agitated, and a sense of danger seemed to cling to him.

Just then, a series of illusory voices echoed in Long Ming’s ears.

"Long Ming."

"Get out of here."

"Get out of here now."

...

"Father? Mother?"

In a daze, Long Ming saw two familiar figures in the gray mist.

He blankly started walking forward.

「...」

「A moment later.」

When Long Ming came to his senses, he suddenly found himself at the entrance to the cave leading into the underground ruins, the massive fissure directly above his head.

’Crap, I ran out by myself! Hopka and the others are still inside!’

Long Ming’s mouth twitched. Without a moment’s hesitation, he charged back into the cave.

Soon, Long Ming was back in the city of the underground ruins.

The entire ruined city was still shrouded in gray mist.

The moment Long Ming stepped into the city, that deeply unsettling feeling washed over him again. However, he pressed forward with a firm will, one step at a time.

Before long, Long Ming reached the central plaza again and saw the giant Pyramid.

This time, Long Ming didn’t linger. He gave it a single glance before continuing forward.

Time ticked by, second by second.

Long Ming didn’t know how long he had been walking. When he snapped out of it, he was back at the entrance of the cave he had just entered.

’A maze?’

Long Ming’s heart grew increasingly agitated, like a turbulent sea.

But he didn’t give up. Nor did he continue to blindly explore. Instead, he slowly closed his eyes.

Long Ming focused his mind, clearing it of all distracting thoughts, and the agitation in his heart gradually subsided.

Finally, Long Ming’s eyes snapped open. The ruined city, shrouded in gray mist, came into view again, as if nothing had changed.

But Long Ming knew very well that *this* was the real ruined city.

’The black particles in this gray mist are affecting me.’

Just then, Long Ming abruptly raised his head. His scarlet eyes pierced through the layers of gray mist, and he saw a cave at the far end.

He suddenly erupted with Power, moving like an afterimage as he charged toward the cave in the distance.

「...」

「Inside the temple.」

Dimulu furiously swung his giant blade, sending Woperi and Chen Hong flying.

Both of them crashed heavily onto the ground.

Just then, a battered Hopka charged forward like a Fierce Beast.

PFFT—

Dimulu spat a large cloud of black mist at the charging Hopka.

"You really think the same trick will work on me?"

Hopka endured the mental corrosion, burst out of the black mist, and leaped into the air. He raised the Giant Hammer in his hands, which crackled with wild arcs of lightning, and brought it down on Dimulu.

"Thunderous Smash!"

BAM—

The Giant Hammer slammed heavily into Dimulu’s head.

"AARGH—"

Dimulu let out a dying roar as his head shattered, and his body crashed to the ground.

Seeing this, Woperi and the others breathed a collective sigh of relief.

"Thank goodness. Captain Dimulu is finally at peace."

Dr. Anus walked over, a deeply sorrowful expression on his face.

"A soldier’s fate is the battlefield. I will bring his body back."

Hopka stared at the fallen Dimulu and said in a heavy voice.

At that moment, Long Ming rushed in.

Hopka and the others all turned to look at the newcomer.

"Red Ghost, what the hell were you doing? We’ve already taken care of things here, and you’re just showing up now!"

Hopka said irritably.

Just then, Long Ming saw that Dr. Anus and the rescued hostages around him were all emitting faint black particles. His expression changed drastically as he shouted.

"Watch out! Dr. Anus and the others are Death Filth Spirits!"

"What did you say?"

Hearing this, Hopka and the others were stunned.

"Too late!"

Dr. Anus’s eyes instantly turned black. He lunged at Hopka, raising a right claw wreathed in black mist and thrusting it toward his heart.

"Captain!"

Just then, Woperi, who was standing nearby, threw himself in front of Hopka.

CRACK!

Dr. Anus’s right hand pierced straight through the armor of the Storm Envoy, and blood splattered everywhere.

"Bastard!"

Hopka furiously swung his Giant Hammer, sweeping it toward Anus.

Anus raised his left hand to block!

BAM—

His entire body was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the ground.

The surrounding "survivors" suddenly transformed into Death Filth Spirit soldiers and charged forward menacingly.

Chen Hong and Antilo immediately rushed up, swinging their weapons to cut them down one by one.

At this point, Woperi’s body slumped backward.

Hopka immediately reached out, catching Woperi and saying with extreme urgency.

"Hang in there!"

"I’m sorry, Cap—"

Woperi’s words were cut short as he breathed his last.

Hopka’s eyes turned bloodshot. He gently laid Woperi down, used his wristband to store the body in a secure container, and looked with pure hatred at Anus, who was climbing back to his feet.

"You son of a bitch!"

But Anus ignored Hopka, turning his head to snarl at Long Ming.

"You shouldn’t have come back. I clearly gave you a way out, yet you insisted on running back!"

"Hmph, you think I’d fall for your bullshit? Give me a way out? If I’m not mistaken, you were planning to possess Hopka’s body. Once you’d done that, would you have let me live?"

Long Ming didn’t believe a word Anus said.
