Grasping Evil

Chapter 1235: Buzhou Umbrella

Chapter 1235: Chapter 1235: Buzhou Umbrella

The death of a Quasi-Saint is no trivial matter, especially when it is someone as blessed as True Lord Fuzhe.

In this battle, Ning Fan obliterated the immeasurable fortune that True Lord Fuzhe had cultivated over a lifetime. After the battle, the vast fortune scattered across the world, without any owner, helplessly turning into countless golden lights drifting everywhere.

Unfortunately, this fortune mixed with the evil qi from the Quasi-Saint’s fall. Amidst the specks of golden light, there was a blood-red glow encircling. As such, ordinary people wouldn’t dare to absorb or refine this fortune, and simply chose to ignore it.

Countless cultivators rushed back to Stone Chamber Mountain, shouting phrases like "True Lord of Morality is invincible" and "Senior Zhao victor," fervently praising Ning Fan’s act of killing True Lord Fuzhe and his disciples.

Ning Fan found no interest in such fanatical praise and was more intrigued by the scattered fortune in the sky than by his fame spreading far and wide.

With his cultivation in the demonic path, what need had he to fear a Quasi-Saint’s evil qi? Rather than letting this fortune disperse entirely, he might as well consume it and make it his own.

What is fortune?

On the surface, fortune seems very close to good fortune, but they are vastly different.

A person with good fortune can frequently encounter great opportunities, like someone walking down the street and suddenly finds a hundred billion Dao Crystals, that is good fortune; but then immediately encountering bandits and getting killed for his treasure is thin fortune, lacking the blessing to enjoy such windfalls.

Those with true fortune are different; those with good or bad fortune could both have blessings. The quality of good fortune might influence gains and losses, but this isn’t the case for blessings, as the old saying goes, ’The old man loses his horse, who knows it is not a blessing,’ which implies this truth.

Good fortune can pave a smooth path, while blessings can ensure a good end at the road’s end, being complementary in a way, together forming a complete circle.

This circle is named ’Good Start, Good End.’

Of course, it doesn’t mean possessing blessings will necessarily lead to a good end; it merely offers more chances compared to ordinary people. If one pridefully relies on infinite blessings only to invite unworthy causes, wastes it, they will still meet inevitable deaths. Hence, throughout history, the more blessed individuals tend to seek fortune and avoid calamity, being kind to others; whereas, anomalous individuals like True Lord Fuzhe, who love courting disaster while bathing in blessings, are exceptionally rare and deserve their fate.

"Fortune is like an umbrella, which can somewhat shield from wind and rain, but would inevitably let clothes get a bit wet if walking in rain against destiny. Blessings are different—blessings are fire, capable of drying wet clothes even if it rains, given the warmth is enough, one could eventually dry off the rainwater..."

Ning Fan muttered to himself, seeing the unattended heaven-spreading blessings, he seated himself cross-legged amid heaven and earth, absorbing all the blessings with no sense of anyone around.

Of course, he also absorbed every strand of Quasi-Saint’s evil qi mixed in the blessings. Seeing that Ning Fan devoured the Quasi-Saint’s evil qi without even a flush or breath of exertion, the Beitian cultivators were once again astounded!

Astonished by Ning Fan’s profound cultivation, and equally by his noble character!

"In the land of Beitian, there may be others who can kill True Lord Fuzhe, but to dare like Senior Zhao swallowing Quasi-Saint’s evil qi directly, it would be hard to find another. The evil qi harms one’s Spirit Sense, pollutes one’s fortune and blessings; even those lucky enough Second-Grade Quasi-Saints who killed True Lord Fuzhe, fearing also they would take a millennium of diligent cultivation to carefully expunge the taint of the evil qi from themselves. Even those big demons from Demon-Sealing Ancient Summit relying on evil qi would not face the qi so directly. What Senior Zhao accomplished, praising his methods as reaching the heavens is not an overstatement!" is the conclusion reached by the slightly rational cultivators.

"At the place where a Quasi-Saint falls, the evil qi stays for at least a thousand years if no one collects the sky-spread evil qi. Heaven and Earth Origin Qi of the Sea of Ages could be fouled for a millennium; during which time how could the cultivators of Yishi Palace dare to cultivate? To restore a bright sky to the Sea of Ages, Senior Zhao did not hesitate to taint himself with mortal dust, sacrifice and contain, absorbing all sky-spread evil qi, which kind of noble sense of duty is that! It’s too brilliant, the brilliance of senior’s persona is too dazzling for words!" says the brainwashed Disciples of Zhao Jian while acting foolishly.

Enough of you...

Ning Fan really couldn’t bear to listen to the sycophancy surrounding him, so he chose to block most of the external noise, closing his mind to focus on his divine sense.

A cultivator’s spirit sense can either exist within or extend outside. At this moment, Ning Fan withdrew all his externally spread spirit sense. This had both good and bad results: it successfully blocked the external sycophantic noise, but it amplified the voice of the Ant Lord within his mind countless times, to a degree Ning Fan could no longer ignore.

Indeed, Ning Fan typically blocked his internal sense to avoid hearing the bickering between the Ant Lord and Little Dust Yinji.

But this time, rather than enduring flattery, he’d prefer listening to the tedious arguments between two women.

Ant Lord: "I solemnly remind you for the ten thousand and seven hundred fifty-second time that my lord, Ancestor Hongjun, is the first cultivator across eternity!"

Little Dust Yinji: "For the ten thousand and seven hundred fifty-third time, I deny your opinion; my tear-transforming brother is the strongest cultivator in the world!"

Little Kitten Black Evil Sect: "For the five hundred sixty-sixth time, I deny both of your viewpoints. I don’t know anything about Hongjun or the tear-transforming brother, as far as I’m concerned, my lord Ning Fan is the strongest in the world!"

"Uh, how come there’s an additional voice arguing within my divine sense...it’s Little Kitten’s voice..."

Ning Fan was speechless.

Because he routinely blocked his internal sense, he wasn’t aware of when Black Evil Sect began joining in the trivial arguments between Ant Lord and Yinji.

Although the Black Evil Sect resides in the Xuan Yin Treasure, it can directly communicate with Ning Fan within his divine sense via heart connections. The Xuan Yin Treasure resides within Ning Fan, connected to him, thus it wasn’t difficult for the Black Evil Sect to do this, and indeed it was something Ning Fan implicitly allowed.

Previously when Ning Fan’s strength was still weak, there was no telling when he’d face greater foes and needed Black Evil Sect’s assistance, hence keeping a certain degree of heart connection was quite necessary.

Little did he expect, one day, the Black Evil Sect would take liberties to chat with the Ant Lord and Yinji within Ning Fan’s divine sense.

Ning Fan’s perfectly fine divine sense had somehow turned into a chat room for three women—truly a ridiculous thought...

"Quiet for a moment! I’m in the process of absorbing heaven’s blessings; your voices are too noisy, affecting my cultivation!" Ning Fan stated in displeasure.

"I’m sorry, Master! Black Evil Sect disrupted your cultivation, deserving death; please punish me..." Black Evil Sect reprimanded itself earnestly, asking for punishment sincerely.

"Punishing isn’t necessary; just silence yourself for a while..." Ning Fan sighed, realizing Little Kitten’s flaw was being too stiff, too grounded in hierarchy.

"A command from the master, Black Evil Sect will obey without exception!" Quiet went the first woman obediently.

"Sorry, Master, Yin Ji will keep quiet now and wait until you finish cultivating before arguing with that vile ant." Although in Yin Ji’s heart, the faceless titan enlightened by a single tear was the most important person to her, she was loyal to Ning Fan as her master, just like the Black Evil Sect, and thus she obeyed Ning Fan’s orders with devotion.

Thus, another woman obediently quieted down.

"Hmph! I am a dignified Saint, why should I obey your orders? If you want me to be quiet, it doesn’t mean I will just comply like that dusty residue or the Nine-Tailed Fox, becoming your servant! Of course, if you truly want some peace and quiet, I can indulge you out of kindness and grant you a momentary silence. But it’s not because I fear you, it’s just because I pity your struggles as an ant in cultivation, and thus I refrain from disturbing you..."

The Ant Lord snorted with pride, as she truly held some reverence for the divine power of Ning Fan. Therefore, she deliberately spoke a long string of words to mask her inner awe. Unfortunately, she shared a mental connection with Ning Fan, so her minor thoughts could not escape his awareness.

"A dignified Saint, yet you actually harbor fear towards me..." Ning Fan was greatly astonished. When he previously attained the magic spirit, he vaguely felt that the Ant Lord’s attitude towards him had become much more submissive. Now he was genuinely certain that the Ant Lord indeed harbored fear towards him.

"Wait a minute, small ant Ning, did you just say you’re absorbing the blessings of Heaven and Earth?" the Ant Lord suddenly asked, showing some concern for the fortunes Ning Fan was absorbing.

"You and I share a mind, whether or not I’m absorbing the blessings of Heaven and Earth, how could you not know? Why ask unnecessarily." Ning Fan replied.

"Wasn’t I busy arguing just now, so I was a bit neglectful about what you were doing, okay? Let me fetch your memories to see what you’ve been up to... Hmph! You killed yet another Quasi-Saint, and moreover, they were someone with great blessings. It’s a pity, from your blurry memory, I can’t determine the quality of the Heaven and Earth blessings they scattered. But thinking about it, what level of blessings can any cultivator from Dreamland Realm possess? Most likely just marginal blessings. Such blessings are worthless; otherwise, I could teach you the method to conjure a Merit Umbrella..."

"Merit Umbrella?"

Sharing a mind with the Ant Lord, Ning Fan quickly understood what a Merit Umbrella was just by glimpsing the Ant Lord’s current thoughts.

The so-called Merit Umbrella is essentially the ultimate form of the Fortune Umbrella. Immortal Fate Nine Colors, gathered into an umbrella, nine is the highest number, and after the nine colors, there isn’t a tenth. Instead, the Fortune Umbrella must be advanced into a Merit Umbrella.

Merit Umbrellas are typically only cultivated by Saints, but there are a few who can craft a Merit Umbrella during the Second Step, using its protection to resist the Immeasurable Catastrophe and become a Saint.

Being a Merit Saint, the Ant Lord naturally knows the method to preemptively conjure a Merit Umbrella.

The Merit Umbrella can withstand even the Immeasurable Catastrophe needed for sanctification, showcasing its formidable defense. This was the first time Ning Fan had heard of it, and if he could craft one, it would certainly be a great achievement.

The problem, however, is that his relationship with the Ant Lord isn’t good. Even if the Ant Lord reveres him, she wouldn’t proactively offer assistance to help him craft a Merit Umbrella.

The Ant Lord undoubtedly has an ulterior motive for helping him, whether it’s with the intention of doing harm or because it also benefits her somehow.

"You and I share a mind, so I won’t hide it from you. Helping you conjure a Merit Umbrella does indeed bring great benefits to me. We Merit Saints gain Merit Power from others when helping them achieve merit. If you can consolidate a Merit Umbrella with my assistance, I can at least draw about a third of your umbrella’s Merit Power and infuse it into my umbrella. This is a mutually advantageous situation, so of course, I don’t mind offering you help. It’s just a pity that the primary prerequisite for the umbrella-construction secret technique I know requires high-quality and large quantities of blessings. Only when hearing you mention absorbing Heaven and Earth blessings did I think of the Merit Umbrella, but it’s regrettable..."

The Ant Lord felt it was a great pity. She genuinely wished to help Ning Fan conjure a Merit Umbrella so that she could profit, only regretting that Ning Fan’s world was a Dreamland Realm, where it wasn’t easy to find blessings above mid-level quality to craft a Merit Umbrella.

Though she revered Ning Fan, she ultimately found him somewhat tiresome. If she could profit from Ning Fan’s umbrella’s Merit Power, it would be taking advantage of him. Unable to kill or insult Ning Fan, her only consolation now was to look for opportunities to profit from him.

"I see."

Ning Fan actually didn’t mind the Ant Lord taking advantage of him. If the Ant Lord truly could help him consolidate a Merit Umbrella, even though a portion would go to her, he stood to gain the most.

He and the Ant Lord shared a mind, allowing him to perceive the Ant Lord’s thoughts and method for consolidating the umbrella.

This was a secret technique passed down through generations of the Hongjun Holy Sect. It was said that before the first Hongjun turned into a human form, he was severely wounded in the Primordial Era, and his backbone was shattered when collided with. Later, he suffered from a devastating attack by a world-annihilating star stream, but he avoided calamity thanks to an umbrella gifted by a benefactor. Upon transforming into human form, the original Hongjun tried to find the benefactor lady again, but never did across all realms. In grief, he created the umbrella-giving secret technique as a means of assisting his sect’s successors in reducing the difficulty of achieving merit and sanctification, and in hopes that eventually carrying an umbrella in endless reincarnation would lead to another encounter with the benefactor.

Within the Hongjun Holy Sect, Merit Saints who have achieved sanctification can use the secret technique to "lend" some of their umbrella’s Merit Power to cultivators in the Second Step. If the beneficiary successfully consolidates a Merit Umbrella with the assistance, then a third of its power must be forcibly "repaid" to the lender.

Of course, if the recipient’s aptitude is too poor or if the materials are insufficient, resulting in failure, then the lender loses a portion of the umbrella’s Merit Power in vain.

In the Hunkun Holy Sect, wielders of the Reverse Sea Sword are considered upper-tier disciples.

In the Hongjun Holy Sect, wielders of the Kunlun Sword are likewise considered upper-tier disciples.

Hunkun master the sea, Hongjun master the mountain. Generations of Hunkun entered the Dao through the sea, while generations of Hongjun entered through the mountain.

The Kunlun Sword is a Daoist Weapon passed down from the second Hongjun, who was said to have gained enlightenment by swallowing Kunlun Mountain.

Yet, within the Hongjun Holy Sect, there exists another weapon that can signify status—a special Merit Umbrella passed down by the first Hongjun—[Buzhou Umbrella].

Holders of the Buzhou Umbrella can stand ten steps before Ancestor Hongjun, listening to lessons, holding a status equivalent to a first-generation disciple within the sect, on par with Primal Saint and Sky-reaching Saint! Bear in mind that when a Fourth Step Reverse Saint opens the altar to preach, the closer you sit, the greater the benefits, and listening ten steps away even enables Saints who are stuck at bottlenecks to break through and advance into the next cycle of reincarnation on the spot!

As for the title of a first-generation disciple of Hongjun, it carries enormous prestige, significantly more distinguished than an ordinary Saint.

"Buzhou Umbrella, huh... I’ve heard of Buzhou twice now—is this a coincidence..." Ning Fan pondered slightly.

The first time he heard of Buzhou was when he came across the name Thunder Emperor in Red.

The second time was when crafting the Reverse Sea Sword, having acquired a plethora of ancient map Daoist weapon blueprints from Wu Laoba, in which one of the designs mentioned Buzhou.

[Barbaric Soldier Mountain Sea Axe, this axe can be classified among the sixty-six grades in the sect, yet it lacks heavenly material such as Dao Man Ancient Star. It lacks ancient national wind crystals, earthly material such as Mount Buzhou’s ridge, and Earth Giant’s teeth... Spent a lifetime but couldn’t craft it, a regretful endeavor.]

The third time hearing of Buzhou was when Ning Fan, by chance, obtained a small stone. After investigating, he found out that the material’s name was Mount Buzhou’s ridge, an exceedingly high-grade crafting material.

Consequently, Ning Fan fused this small piece of Mount Buzhou’s ridge into the Dao Weapon Reverse Sea Sword, causing the sword’s construct to deviate entirely from the original blueprint and significantly improve its grade.

The fourth time I heard about Mount Buzhou was in that eerie nursery rhyme.

[You clap three, I clap three, Gong Gong knocked over Mount Buzhou.]

In the dark depths of destiny, Ning Fan seemed to bear a tremendous karmic bond, aligning perfectly with the words Mount Buzhou.

When he was young and weak, he couldn’t sense the cause and effect, but now, the higher his cultivation, the more he could feel the massive karmic ties.

"Buzhou Umbrella..." As he murmured the name again, Ning Fan unexpectedly felt a pang of wistful pain and unfamiliarity.

That sense of unfamiliarity stemmed from the discomfort caused by erroneous cycles of reincarnation.

The wistful pain, like water without a source, appeared out of thin air, and Ning Fan’s thoughts, triggered by the Buzhou Umbrella, recalled an unrelated phrase.

It was a whisper he couldn’t hear clearly before in front of the Sword Ancestor’s decayed Taoist lotus.

Yet now, he could hear it distinctly and remember that line!

[Did I ever have a rain in your heart... Alas, this time, I can no longer hold the umbrella for you...]

"Did she hold an umbrella for me in one of my previous reincarnations... If it didn’t happen in the past, it might be... in the future..."

Ning Fan seemed to understand something, yet simultaneously remained oblivious.

Without reason, he felt a surge of urgency to quickly condense a specially designed Merit Umbrella named Buzhou Umbrella.

Inexplicably, he suddenly became interested in the stories of Ant Lord and Hongjun, wanting to inquire why this detestable Ant Lord was so loyal to her master. That unwavering loyalty was one of the few shining points of humanity in Ant Lord.

"How did you encounter your master Hongjun?"

Facing Ning Fan’s inquiry about her master, Ant Lord surprisingly blushed with embarrassment, snapped, "Why should I tell you how I met my master! That’s my secret!"

For the first time, she didn’t refer to herself formally...

Though she didn’t tell Ning Fan about her acquaintance with Hongjun, Ning Fan still learned everything from Ant Lord’s inner thoughts through their telepathic connection.

Long, long ago, back then, Ant Lord wasn’t yet the Ant Lord, just an ordinary ant on an Immortal Mountain.

One day, the Immortal Mountain suddenly faced an Immeasurable Catastrophe, with infinite blood rain falling from the sky, carrying apocalyptic destruction.

The ant thought it was doomed, but suddenly, a man in red holding a bone umbrella appeared from nowhere. The man’s face was unrecognizable, and Ant Lord only remembered his figure encapsulating an overwhelming sadness, holding the umbrella while walking through the unending blood rain, with an ancient kingdom’s divine spirit’s head in the other hand.

"You crashed into my ridge; this vengeance I can forget, but you wounded her fiery body and thunderous bones. Even with an ancient kingdom’s divine king pleading for you, I will spare you no mercy!"

"But now, where is she..."

"Who is she..."

"After nine hundred cycles of reincarnation, she was futilely sought. A hundred lifetimes later, once reaching a thousand, and still, if I’ve sought you for a thousand reincarnations, and you haven’t appeared, I will end myself in this life and seek you in the next layer of the Heavenly Dao’s fourth ring..."

Ants couldn’t possibly understand human words, but strangely, she could hear this person’s speech!

Ant Lord could never forget that shocking scene; the person holding the bone umbrella suddenly walked towards her as if the entire world was approaching her, as if all the mountains and seas were moving in conjunction with this person’s steps and rhythm. He perhaps didn’t even notice her, just waiting silently for the rain to stop, while she hid under the umbrella, escaping the deathly blood rain.

After the rain stopped, the person left.

But deep in her heart, Ant Lord silently swore that if one day, she could transform into human form and walk the path of cultivation, she would find the man who held the umbrella for her and repay with her life!

Even if he had forgotten this tiny ant he saved, she would definitely climb into his life and break herself for him.

She swore in this life, she would devote herself to one person only!

"Unexpectedly, you are such an ant full of emotion and gratitude, willing to forsake everything, life and death for someone else’s unintentional rescue. I had underestimated you before. It’s a pity we are enemies, otherwise, I would quite admire your character; you are a fair lady, alas, joining the thieveries..." Ning Fan remarked.

"Despicable! How dare you peek into how I first met my master! Sneaking into memories is one thing, but calling my master a thief too! I want to kill you!" Ant Lord raged, gritting her teeth.

"You want to kill me? How regrettable. Currently, you are bound to my divine sense, unable to exert any cultivation, thus cannot kill me. Well, I won’t waste time arguing with you, I must see if this realm’s fortune is enough to cultivate the Merit Umbrella."

Ning Fan withdrew his mind, spread his spirit sense, ignoring the flattery from Stone Chamber Mountain, probing the scattered fortune of heaven and earth once again.

From the knowledge gained from Ant Lord’s memories, in the Real Realms, fortune lasting for one lifetime is of the lowest; inheritance lasting fewer than three lifetimes is the lowest grade; three to fewer than ten lifetimes is mid-grade; ten to fewer than a hundred lifetimes is high-grade; enduring for a hundred lifetimes is the fortune of the creation of the heavens.

"I remember when True Lord Fuzhe was dying, he seemed to mention being cut off after five lifetimes. Could it be that his fortune was a mid-grade with a five-lifetime inheritance? If so, this fortune is just enough to condense the Merit Umbrella."

Ning Fan attempted several times, but to his dismay, found that his spirit sense level was far from adequate to determine the level of fortune.

Since the spirit sense couldn’t perceive it, he decisively chose to directly converse with the pervasive fortune.

"Tell me your level of fortune," Ning Fan said calmly.

"Communicating with nature! This is communicating with nature! Senior Zhao is actually communicating with the essence of Heaven and Earth, what an extraordinary Divine Skill!" More flattering voices arose.

"Again like this! Earlier at the Chu Family, he was chatting with camellia petals, and now he is conversing with the pervasive fortune..." Bei Shi’s pretty face blushed. She had previously witnessed Ning Fan conversing with the camellia at the Chu Family and once thought Ning Fan was mad; only now did she realize Ning Fan was an ancient great cultivator with supreme cultivation; being such, how could he possibly be a madman? She had misunderstood Ning Fan; she truly felt foolish.

[Five generations, five generations...] This was the response from the pervasive fortune, only audible to Ning Fan.

"Indeed, the fortune here is sufficient for refining the Merit Umbrella. In that case..."

Ning Fan hesitated slightly, then suddenly raised his hand, using supreme mana to create a tempestuous wind, blowing everyone around Stone Chamber Mountain out of the area.

Including Yuan Yao and her daughter, including Emperor Haisha and others, Ning Fan didn’t want anyone in the vicinity because the process of condensing the Merit Umbrella was accompanied by a tremendous momentum, potentially severely impacting even the Immortal Emperor.

Those without adequate cultivation remaining to watch would be akin to courting death.

"To condense the Merit Umbrella using the technique of the Buzhou Umbrella, three materials are required—an Immortal Fate Fortune Umbrella of at least the seventh color, abundantly high-quality fortune, and an innate-level umbrella-type magical treasure as the physical umbrella body. Although my Fortune Umbrella hasn’t reached the eighth color, it barely qualifies for refining the Merit Umbrella; the fortune here is equally abundant; as for the physical umbrella body, I happen to possess a suitable one..."

Ning Fan patted his storage pouch, retrieving the innate mid-grade Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella.

This was a legacy treasure the Water Sect had sought for years, a Rain Master Seal-class Instrument; it’s rumored that upon mastering the Rain Master seal, one can use this umbrella to wield a formidable Divine Skill.

However, no matter how powerful the seal-class Divine Skill is, can it be more powerful than the Merit Umbrella?

The Merit Umbrella, as a defense tool, can withstand the Tribulation of Measure—Immeasurable Catastrophe! It’s a supreme treasure that assists one in achieving sanctity through merit; once mastered, few with the second step of cultivation could harm Ning Fan through attack!

Second-grade Quasi-Saints cannot, nor can ancient great cultivators, unless they are at the level of Ancient Chaos Grand Emperor, otherwise they cannot break Ning Fan’s Merit Umbrella defense!

With Zhou Heaven Fate upon him, that defense is not just a boast, only a Saint-level attack can break it!

"Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella, would you be willing to become the umbrella body for Ning Fan’s Merit Umbrella, bearing my lifetime’s fate and merit?" Ning Fan astonishingly conversed with the Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella.

This conversation naturally concerned whether the Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella was unwilling to become the umbrella body; should this magical treasure resist, the success rate of condensing the Merit Umbrella would significantly decrease, forcing Ning Fan to seek another umbrella-type magical treasure to serve as the umbrella body.

[Willing, willing...] The Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella responded gleefully, seemingly aware that becoming Ning Fan’s Merit Umbrella body would be a massive opportunity, showing no reluctance, rather much anticipation.

Because this matter is not equivalent to destruction, but a transcendence in existence.

It will leap to become a supreme treasure beyond the second step!

"In that case... by my command, Heaven and Earth fortune, transform into my umbrella! Zhou Heaven fate, all enter my umbrella!"

...

At the moment Ning Fan started refining the umbrella, within the four heavens, two individuals suddenly sensed something, their expressions changed drastically!

One of them was the Master of the Water Sect, Beihai True Lord, while visiting friends among the famous mountains of Beitian, seeking help to deal with Ning Fan, and reclaim the Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella, was suddenly shaken!

"Madness! Madness! You dare destroy the Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella before I can exact revenge on you! You wish to destroy my Water Sect’s supreme treasure! You’re courting death! Courting death!"

Beihai True Lord was furious, unable to tolerate Ning Fan’s act of destroying the Sky-Dueling Jade Umbrella, vowing to immediately act to stop Ning Fan, regardless of the cost!

...

In the south, the Emperor of Fate was in closed-door cultivation, absorbing Zhou Heaven fate into his body.

He faintly sensed that he was nearing the breakthrough of the final barrier between the Source Stream of Dao and Taoist realms, lacking only the accumulation of time.

"As long as the total amount of scattered fate between Heaven and Earth doesn’t drastically decrease, I have confidence in completely stepping into the Taoist realm within a hundred years! The Taoist realm could battle Saints; should I achieve such a realm, among the nine purple mountains, four duel seas, and four demon seas of the Zidou Illusion Realm, who could be my opponent! What if the Ancient Chaos resurrects? A skeletal remnant in a tomb, lingering for a few years, could not match my Taoist realm! What of the Demon-Sealing Peak Grand Demon? Killing them would be like slaughtering chickens! What of the Boundary River Grand Kings? I eat them as grain! Niu Manshan, Everlasting Eyes, Three Immortals of Demon Realm, Heavenly Destiny Xuan Bird, Huo Dou, Lu Sheng Tianhuang, An Yuanchen, Buddha’s Three Corpses, Ancient Painting Spirit... all such beings, I can slaughter! In this realm, the only ones I need to fear are the five great variables left by the Purple Dou Immortal Sovereign—if the Reverse Crane, Axe Fool, Clock Ghost, River Lord, and Demon Insect are not completely eliminated, the destruction of Purple Mountain Dou Sea won’t truly transpire! The reason this last Purple Dou Yin Reincarnation wasn’t ended by the Great Honored Zhanqing all those years ago was due to that. Very well, when truly confronting those five changes, I’ll look to the Emotion Control for support, surely he’ll gladly enter Purple Mountain Dou Sea once more to redeem past shame!"

The Emperor of Fate nearly wanted to roar at the sky, releasing years of suppressed emotions.

Just then, the Emperor of Fate’s complexion drastically changed.

He was horrified to discover that the total amount of scattered Zhou Heaven fate across the four heavens and nine worlds was reducing at an astonishing speed, as if forcibly taken by something.

If this isn’t stopped, once the Zhou Heaven fate drastically depletes in the four heavens and nine worlds, let alone achieving Taoist realm in a hundred years, even given more time, it cannot be achieved unless the total amount of Heaven and Earth fate recovers!

"Who is it! Who disrupts my grand plan! I’ll kill you! Kill you!"
