Chapter 1320: The Mage From The World Magic Organization
...
Ten minutes later...
"Allow me to introduce Miss Leah Dovesing from the World Magic Organization’s Aeritentiam Academy. Although Miss Dovesing is here for other reasons, she has agreed to assist our Kroma family. She is a 5th year student, but when it comes to magic control, Miss Dovesing has long surpassed her peers. Her specialty also happens to be water magic. And, I can personally vouch for her ability to follow instructions." Quicksil said as he introduced the young woman that stood next to him.
The young woman looked to be in her early to mid twenties. She had long blonde hair with stripes of blue running through it and a pair of clear light gold eyes. She wore a set of dark blue mage robes with yellow trims around its edges. Attached to the side of her hip and mostly hidden by her mage robes was a simple black wand with a yellow magic symbol etched onto its base.
’Oh? The World Magic Organization? Seeing as how she is still a student, she must be completing a mission that’s connected to the Kroma family. For someone like Quicksil to personally vouch for her abilities under these circumstances—she must be quite talented and trustworthy.’
The World Magic Organization was a name that practically every magic user in RML had heard of at least once. That’s because it was an organization that produced numerous genius mages and talents of magic. There influence alone easily rivaled that of the Seven Kingdoms of the Mortal Realm. And, in some ways, they could be considered even more influential since many of the graduates of Aeritentiam Academy went on to hold high positions in the kingdoms they returned to.
Of course, not every graduate of Aeritentiam Academy returned to their home kingdom. In fact, the majority of graduates would go on to join one of the three divisions that were a part of the World Magic Organization—the dream of nearly every mage who attended Aeritentiam Academy.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I heard the gist of things from Sir Quicksil. While your precise intentions remain unclear to me, if I can be of help, I am more than willing to offer my assistance. The Kroma family has treated kindly during my stay here. I wish to repay them for their hospitality." Leah said as she placed her hand across her chest and gave a small bow as a greeting.
"I’ll be counting on you." Izroth replied calmly.
"The magic cores you requested are stored inside of this bracelet. It may not look like much, but there are a total of 500 High-Grade Magic Cores and 50 Exceptional Magic Cores. Since you mentioned that the higher the quality the better, I have also included 1 Heart of Magic. I apologize if it is lacking. But, it is the best I can scrape together on such short notice. If you require more than this, I can send some people to gather the necessary items outside of the Kroma family estate." Quicksil explained.
Leah’s brows rose in surprise when Quicksil casually mentioned a Heart of Magic. However, her reaction was naturally, especially for someone who walked the path of magic.
The Heart of Magic was a magic core that any mage would love to get their hands on. After all, the amount of applications it held were endless.
’I did say to bring as many magic cores as possible, but to think he would also entrust me with a Heart of Magic, the highest grade magic core. Saying that it’s just something he scraped together on short notice—the Kroma family’s wealth is greater than I anticipated.’
"The Heart of Magic is unnecessary. The other magic cores will be more than enough to carry out my plans." Izroth stated.
While the Heart of Magic was tempting, Izroth was not someone who took advantage of another’s desperation unless that person was an enemy. Quicksil, on the other hand, had consistently shown his sincerity. And, while he clearly held some reasonable doubts upon their initial meeting, he never once looked down on Izroth and maintained a certain level of respect.
Leah seemed taken aback when Izroth turned down the Heart of Magic as she released an inward sigh. Naturally, the part of her that was a mage felt it was a waste. However, it also gave her some insight into the person she would be working with soon.
"What an upright person. If I were in his shoes, I dare not say with absolute certainty that I would be able to turn down an opportunity to obtain a Heart of Magic." Leah thought to herself.
The following moment, a light-heartedly smile formed on Quicksil’s face as he took a few steps toward the nightstand next to the bed and carefully placed the bracelet in front of the communication magic orb.
"It is never bad to have another backup. While it may not be much, it will bring me some peace of mind. As for the magic cores that you end up having no use—consider them a gift from the Kroma family. As long as Lady Harpe awakens, no one will dare to complain about a small gift." Quicksil said in a meaningful tone as began to walk toward the door.
He then continued, "I have taken up enough of your time. Then, excuse me."
After a brief farewell, Quicksil left the room without waiting for Izroth’s reply.
Izroth gave a carefree smile as he shook his head.
’Is this his way of giving me a bit more motivation? Well, since he wants to gift it to me, so be it.’
"Sir Quicksil and the Kroma family have placed a lot of trust in you. I have now become a part of that trust; therefore, I hope that we do not betray it. To make sure that does not happen, I will do my best to follow your instructions. So, what is it that you require of me?" Leah inquired curiously.
"It’s simple." Izroth said as he moved to pick up the bracelet left behind by Quicksil.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds of magic cores appeared on the floor and surrounded the bed.
"We are going to create the illusion of a grand feast to lure out a hungry beast. All you have to do is channel the smallest amount of mana possible into every magic core here and maintain it until I say otherwise. During that time, no matter what happens or what you see, you must not lose focus and continue to channel mana into the magic cores. I will take care of everything else." Izroth said as he activated his Energy Vision Sense.
Leah did not know what sort of "beast" Izroth planned on luring out. But, she roughly understood what he was trying to accomplish. That said, while Leah was still not entirely sure of things, the mage part of her was intrigued about Izroth’s approach.
"The smallest amount possible? Then-" Leah closed her eyes and concentrated as the mana in the surroundings fluctuated ever so slightly.
In the same breath, a tiny, almost indiscernible bead of mana materialized at the tip of Leah’s index finger.
