Chapter 1322: Gratitude Leah’s Request

Chapter 1322: Gratitude, Leah’s Request

Leah eyes widened in shock as she watched Quicksil bow. She had been a guest of the Kroma Family for quite some time now, so she knew just how proud they were. Therefore, she had never seen them bow their head to anyone, let alone an outsider.

"To cure Lady Harpe when the likes of high-grade Apothecaries, Alchemists and healers failed—if it’s him, then perhaps..." A thoughtful expression formed on Leah’s face as she furrowed her brows.

At the same time, a series of system alerts sounded in Izroth’s head.

〈System Alert: 1/1 Cure «Amelia Harpe».〉

〈System Alert: Congratulations, you have completed the quest «Curing The Grand Duke’s Daughter»!〉

〈System Alert: Your favor with «Amelia Harpe» has been maxed!〉

〈System Alert: Your favor with «Grand Duke of Harpe, Aurelius Harpe» has been maxed!〉

〈System Alert: Your favor with «Head of the Kroma Family, Mithron Kroma» has been maxed!〉

〈System Alert: Your fame with the «Kroma Family» has been maxed!〉

〈System Alert: Your Contribution Points has increased by 1,500! [Total: 49,984.54]〉

〈System Alert: You have received the Legendary solitary title «Miracle Healer»!〉

Title Name: Miracle Healer(Solitary Legendary)

Title Benefit(s):

-Individuals who wield this title are respected by the majority of this world’s residents.

-The effectiveness of all healing is increased by 50% when used on anyone except the wielder of this title.

-For materials that can be used in healing, you can view potential substitutes along with their exact effectiveness.

Izroth quickly read over the new title he received and found the benefits it gave rather useful.

’The first benefit is a little broad. But, no matter what world it’s in, a good healer will always be highly sought after and respected. As for the second effect, while it’s a shame that it doesn’t work on me directly, it still has its uses. The last benefit, however—this alone makes this title worth it.’

Despite his knowledge from the Seven Realms and what he obtained in RML, Izroth still had some trouble finding appropriate substitutes for materials based on loose descriptions he read in books. However, now that he had a way to directly view the potential substitutes along with their exact effectiveness rates, he would have a much easier time adapting recipes from the Seven Realms to one fashioned for RML. This was an unexpected treasure he had come across.

’That said, this is only the beginning. I know for certain that the League of the Eidolon was involved in the attack on the Noble District as well as the state that the Lady Harpe of was left in. But, it still doesn’t answer the question of how they managed to get their hands on the blood of a shadahi. More importantly, how were they able to infect her with it while keeping it so well hidden?’

The most dangerous thing about the shadahi blood Izroth expelled from Lady Harpe was the fact that it went unnoticed by all the high-grade Apothecaries, Alchemists and healers invited by the Kroma Family. Whatever the League of the Eidolon and the shadahi were plotting, there was a possibility that multiple people throughout Danaharpe was affected by shadahi blood and did not even know it.

The worse case scenario was that many of the nobles present that day during the attack on the Noble District became infected. No, it was possible that the League of the Eidolon had already dug their claws in even deeper and was secretly infecting people all along. While Izroth did not know the exact purpose of the shadahi blood, if there was even the slightest chance that it could cause one to go berserk or secretly control them, then the situation in Danaharpe could become a headache not easily salvaged.

’It’s not as if I can go around asking nobles to be tested for shadahi blood that may or may not exist. Not to mention, the method I used this time may not necessarily work on others. Without a way to reliably detect the shadahi blood and show physical proof, it’s not plausible. Right now, our best shot is the Grand Duke of Harpe.’

In terms of status and authority, the Grand Duke of Harpe far exceeded all the nobles of Danaharpe. As long as he gave the order, it would not be an issue summoning every noble in Danaharpe—regardless of their faction or reluctance to do so.

Izroth shook his head and said, "I simply fulfilled the terms of our arrangement. Now that I have kept my promise, I assume the Elders of the Kroma Family will have no choice but to take a step back and acknowledge your efforts. It seems I’ve helped you in more ways than one."

Quicksil gave a helpless smile as he straightened upright and replied, "I cannot deny that. Regardless, our previous agreement aside, the Kroma Family will never forget this great favor."

He then asked, "When will Lady Harpe awaken?"

"It should be anytime now." Izroth said calmly.

Not long after those words left Izroth’s mouth, Amelia’s eyes started to flutter. A few seconds later, her eyes slowly opened as she let out a slight audible groan.

"I... Where am I...?" Amelia tried to sit up, but found that simply lifting her head required an enormous amount of effort.

However, before she went too far, Izroth lightly placed his index and middle fingers across Amelia’s forehead, causing her head to fall back with no resistance.

"Do not overexert yourself. I may have treated your injuries, but you must take it easy over the next few days." Izroth said as he removed his fingers from Amelia’s forehead.

When Quicksil saw Izroth’s actions, his soul nearly left his body in a panic. The Grand Duke treated his only daughter like a delicate flower. Needless to say, no man dared to touch a single strand of her hair for fear of incurring the Grand Duke’s wrath.

Amelia’s cheeks flushed a light shade of pink as her eyes drifted over to Izroth. For some reason, his touch felt warm and soothing, which caused her to instinctively relax.

"...Who... are you...?" Amelia asked.

"I’m the person who saved your life. If you want to show your appreciation, you should follow my instructions until you’re fully recovered." Izroth responded casually.

Amelia’s gaze shifted over toward Quicksil. She then looked up at the ceiling before she closed her eyes.

While she had many questions, Amelia was able to understand the gist of things.

"If this person is truly my savior, then I must uphold the honor of the Harpe Family as my father has taught me." Amelia thought to herself.

"I see... You have... My... gratitude..." Amelia said as her words faded off and she drifted to sleep.

"This..." Quicksil started in a concerned tone.

"She just fell asleep. She’ll wake up again in an hour or so. By then, the medicine I gave her should have taken full effect. At that time, she should be able to talk without issue and move around lightly." Izroth reassured.

Quicksil released a heavy sigh of relief. He then said, "I must update the Family Head on Lady Harpe’s condition. It will remove a heavy burden that has weighed on his heart. Perhaps he will finally be able to get some proper rest with peace of mind. Supreme Elder Izroth, I must burden you to watch over Lady Harpe for a while longer."

"I have no plans of leaving the Kroma Family estate. For the time being, I will remain here until I can confirm Lady Harpe’s final condition." Izroth stated without hesitation.

Quicksil seemed relieved that Izroth was not in a rush to depart.

"Then, I can remain at ease. I will excuse myself to meet with the Family Head." Quicksil said politely.

He then turned to Leah and continued, "Miss Dovesing, the Kroma Family is in your debt as well. If there is anything you would like, feel free to send your request directly to me. Of course, as long as it’s within the appropriate limits."

Quicksil emphasized the last part of his statement due to Leah being a mage from the World Magic Organization’s Aeritentiam Academy. The mages from that place were well known for having no restraint or shame when it came to their requests. After all, when it came to research, there was never enough funds or resources available in a mage’s eyes.

Leah’s eyes lit up as she swiftly replied eagerly, "I will put together a list of research materials and send it over immediately."

"Yes, well... I will look forward to it." Quicksil said with a weak smile as he sensed the impending danger to the Kroma Family coffers.

"Remember, within reason. Within reason." Quicksil reminded before he took his leave.

After Quicksil took his leave, Leah walked over next to Izroth and said, "You have my thanks. I did not do that much, but I received a reward that is not easy to come by as a mage."

"You earned that reward through your own contribution. Enjoy it well." Izroth stated with a carefree smile.

After a brief moment of silence, Leah spoke up, "This might be inappropriate of me to ask so suddenly, but if it’s possible—may you examine me?"
