Chapter 1421: Taking a Master

Chapter 1421: Taking a Master

Heavenly God Hao Han’s temperament made Yi Tianyun smile inwardly, filling him with a sense of warmth and familiarity. There was no utilitarian mindset, nor any arrogance. Just like the projection he had seen before, there was no change at all.

“Master, please don’t be so modest. Your help to this disciple has been tremendous.”

This was indeed true. The things Heavenly God Hao Han had left behind for him were extremely precious, and they had helped him greatly—especially those martial arts and the power of the Heavenly Venerable, which had been of enormous benefit to him.

That said, it had to be acknowledged that Yi Tianyun had relied on his own abilities to reach this point. Among Heavenly God Hao Han’s many nominal disciples, virtually none had achieved a level comparable to Yi Tianyun—he was essentially the only one.

This already showed that Heavenly God Hao Han merely played a supporting role. Whether one could become a Heavenly Venerable depended entirely on oneself. That had been the case from the beginning, and Heavenly God Hao Han had already made that clear long ago.

“Alright, stop flattering me,” Heavenly God Hao Han said with a laugh. “You haven’t even officially become my disciple yet, and you’re already laying it on this thick. What will you do later?”

He then shifted his gaze toward the barrier and said in confusion, “That said, what exactly is this thing? It can actually block us from entering. I don’t recall any newly formed God Domains having something like this.”

“Exactly. We’ve never seen anything like this before either—it stopped all of us,” said Heavenly Venerable Jian Si. “We don’t know what it is, but after a brief inspection, it seems impossible for us to break through with our strength.”

Their so-called inspection naturally meant smashing it a few times and testing its resistance.

After failing to break it with a few attempts, they did not continue. After all, this territory belonged to Yi Tianyun—if they damaged something important, that would be troublesome.

“I don’t really know either. I only discovered it after coming here,” Yi Tianyun replied casually.

He had made up an excuse. Naturally, he wasn’t about to tell them the truth—there was no way he could say it was a reward from completing a main quest. That was something he could never reveal. Even Shi Xueyun didn’t know about it.

Some things were best kept to oneself. There was no need to lay everything bare, especially secrets of this level of importance.

“I see. Looks like the other Heavenly Venerables won’t be able to enter either—not even Master can destroy it,” Heavenly Venerable Jian Si sighed. “Master’s cultivation has already broken through to the Heavenly God level, yet even he can’t damage this place. Of course, that’s without using full strength. If this were something you created, destroying it would be a real problem.”

“How could that be?” Yi Tianyun laughed. “If we could create something like this, who would we even need to fear?”

He then said respectfully to Heavenly God Hao Han, “That said, congratulations, Master, on advancing your cultivation and breaking through to the Heavenly God realm!”

“Hahaha! That is indeed worth celebrating,” Heavenly God Hao Han laughed heartily. “I never expected to actually break through. I was stuck at the late-stage Upper Heavenly Venerable realm for so long. After that life-and-death battle with Heavenly Venerable Shashen, I unexpectedly broke through. After the breakthrough, my injuries recovered rapidly!”

His eyes flickered coldly. “It’s a pity that Heavenly Venerable Shashen is already dead. Otherwise, I would personally destroy him!”

“If he knew that my cultivation not only didn’t regress but instead advanced, I imagine that even if he came back to life, he’d die of anger!”

As he spoke, Heavenly God Hao Han burst into laughter again. The other disciples laughed along with him—seeing their master successfully break through was truly a joyous event.

After being stuck for so long at the late Upper Heavenly Venerable realm, he had finally advanced to the Heavenly God level, becoming a true powerhouse.

“It seems we won’t be able to enter this place,” Heavenly God Hao Han said, shaking his head. “Perhaps this is special protection granted to you. As for how the heavens arranged it, we don’t know. In that case, we won’t force our way in.”

“We had just returned and immediately rushed over with Master,” Heavenly Venerable Jian Si added. “Even if we weren’t the first group, we were at least the second. This place is quite far. After arriving, we found many Heavenly Venerables blocked outside. We tested it briefly and didn’t try much after that.”

Yi Tianyun nodded. He felt deeply moved—they had rushed over as soon as they received the news.

“This barrier should actually allow entry. You can’t get in, but I should be able to bring you inside.”

Yi Tianyun walked forward and easily passed through the barrier. With a wave of his hand, energy enveloped them, and he brought everyone inside.

“So we really can get in… The heavens truly favor you,” Heavenly Venerable Jian Si exclaimed. “You can even control this barrier?”

They were all stunned—even Heavenly God Hao Han was taken aback.

“I was just trying it out,” Yi Tianyun shrugged. “I didn’t expect it to work. I believe all senior brothers know how sturdy this thing is. We only just ascended—it’s impossible for us to have created it. Since it’s a protective barrier, I guessed it was meant to protect us, so I gave it a try. Turns out it really works.”

His explanation was perfectly reasonable, and they all believed it.

After all, such a solid barrier—even a Heavenly God would struggle to break it. How could Yi Tianyun have created it?

“Now there’s no need to worry anymore,” Heavenly Venerable Jian Si said enviously. “We rushed all the way here for nothing. It’s just unclear how long it can last—if it’s only a few months, that would be too short.”

“That I don’t know either,” Yi Tianyun said with a smile. “We can only take it one step at a time. At least we’re protected.”

He naturally knew the answer.

One thousand years.

“Indeed. At least it’s safer for the time being,” Heavenly God Hao Han said with a smile. “This time, in addition to protecting your Three Realms God Domain, we’re also here for the apprenticeship ceremony.”

He looked at Yi Tianyun seriously.

“Now, I ask you once more—are you willing to become a disciple of the Vast Heavens Divine Sect?”

“This disciple is willing!”

Yi Tianyun knelt on one knee in midair, filled with genuine joy at becoming a disciple of the Vast Heavens Divine Sect.

“Good. Then I accept you as my personal disciple and will impart all my martial arts to you,” Heavenly God Hao Han said solemnly.

“You must fulfill two conditions. First, you must never betray the Vast Heavens Divine Sect. Second, you must never bring shame upon it.”

“Other than that, there is nothing more to say.”

Yi Tianyun was stunned. The rules were astonishingly simple—there were no additional restrictions at all.

“That’s it? Just these rules?” Yi Tianyun asked in surprise.

“Hah! Our Vast Heavens Divine Sect isn’t large, but it’s very free,” Heavenly Venerable Jian Si laughed. “What rules could there be? As long as you don’t betray us and remain devoted to the sect, that’s enough. We hate rigid constraints.”

Of course, it wasn’t absolute freedom—reckless troublemaking wouldn’t go unchecked. The key point was never betraying the sect. And when the Vast Heavens Divine Sect faced trouble, one had to return immediately to provide aid.
