Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4632: Mavigglain Clan

Chapter 4632: Mavigglain Clan

After Davis warned Heim Mavigglain and told the crowd to disperse in order to trade further and gain more benefits for the overall benefit of his family, his eyes roamed for signs of Wella Vertiga, but he couldn’t find her.

Had she disguised herself, or had she left the Shard Region?

After all, he had heard from Almer Spacewill that Heim Mavigglain and Wella Vertiga had sneaked out of their powers in order to meet up. Otherwise, Almer Spacewill wouldn’t have been able to ambush them. These were undercurrents at the level of Exalts, while these youths were only pawns, something he couldn’t easily interfere with.

Regardless, from this, he imagined Wella Vertiga could’ve returned to her power that could be in this Shard Region or somewhere else.

As for Heim Mavigglain being a kidnapper, it was unconfirmed.

Davis felt that he could be thinking too much about this, but he had also made it a point of suspicion to keep an eye on him. As long as he saw the slightest change in behavior, he wouldn’t hesitate to end Heim Mavigglain using whatever means necessary.

The only reason he hadn’t straight away dived into their entourage and picked them apart thoroughly was because they had been civilized towards Shirley so far. They had only maintained their talks and didn’t force Shirley to do anything. He appreciated that kind of action.

Besides, the Divine Phoenix Galaxy wasn’t at war with the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. From this, he could see they were loosely allied with humans and didn’t look down on them deeply.

Of course, as an Anarchic Divergent, the diplomatic relations between the two races were none of his concern. What he wanted was to establish a relationship with a hegemonic power so that he could make use of their resources.

While he was eying the crowd and trying to get more customers who were spooked because of the pressure he had unleashed and the dragon he had tamed, he witnessed a baffling scene in the corner of his eyes.

The entourage of the Mavigglain Clan, the Prismatic Soul Phoenixes, didn’t leave.

Instead, the King-Tier Prismatic Soul Phoenix hovered towards him, her eyes fixated on his store as though she couldn’t see him eye to eye. Finally, she appeared before him and bowed lightly with a polite attitude.

"I apologize if I have offended you, Divine Emperor of Death. I don’t have any intentions to cause you harm. Whether you will live or die depends on your capability to eliminate Heaven’s Warriors and has nothing to do with my Mavigglain Clan. We come here to establish an amicable relationship with you so we can also depend on Fairy Lea, who received our ancestor’s blessings, to be the one to lead us to glorious heights."

"..."

Davis stared at her with narrowed eyes.

He didn’t hesitate to flood her with Heart Intent.

Nervousness, honesty, sincerity, and pity.

He could sense these emotions, leaving him baffled. It was the first time he saw someone from another galaxy pitying him. He wondered if she had some items to fake her emotions, but he didn’t hesitate to use his full power while using Heart Intent.

The number of people who could fool his senses while in the Immortal Emperor Stage might not even exist. Even if there were, he imagined that they could not exceed one digit, countable using two hands.

He sized her magical beast body up; she was mesmerizing to look at for any kind of lifeform, but gave him a sense of alertness, as it could cloud his decisions.

A moment later, he opened his mouth, "Are you from a different faction within the Mavigglain Clan who only wants to woo Lea’s goodwill?"

The King-Tier Prismatic Soul Phoenix widened her phoenix eyes, appearing surprised, "That is true. The other faction doesn’t have any powerful Immortal Emperors to represent them since they’re superior and more powerful, while we’re still suppressed. This allowed us to gain an advantage in coming here and establish a connection with Fairy Lea through Fairy Shirley and you."

"..."

Davis knew they wouldn’t be considering this if they knew Lea was also a Divergent. Chances are, they would plunder the blessings from her, but he appreciated the thought of wanting to take a risk to obtain her goodwill through him.

Regardless, he couldn’t sense any lies from this phoenix before him.

This made him turn his head to look at the entourage and glance at Heim Mavigglain for a moment, becoming more sure of his theory. Heim Mavigglain was likely a spy from the other faction. Still, the true identity of this spy was quite high since he seemed to be the heir to the Azure Skyfeather Palace, which was a power similar to the Void Reflection Palace.

These were Divine Exalt human powers that were established long ago in other galaxies.

Was he betraying his own power, the Azure Skyfeather Palace, to enter deeper into the hegemonic Mavigglain Clan? Or did the Azure Skyfeather Palace have a hand in wanting Lea, or are they working for the other faction?

Davis returned his gaze and rubbed his chin with his hand as he felt the intricacies ran deep.

Still, they were all from the same Mavigglain Clan, and he didn’t want to give them any chances to get near Lea. At the same time, he also wanted to use them for their resources.

"If that’s the case, then there could be some form of relations between us. A trade relationship seems fair in the beginning. What do you think?"

The King-Tier Prismatic Soul Phoenix thought for a moment before she nodded her beautiful phoenix head, "Agreed. We’ll maintain a trade relationship. Please allow us to browse through your treasures. If we find something interesting, we’re willing to pay a good price for it."

"Alright."

Davis smiled. He thought this girl was as smart as Frostrose, knowing when to say and how to say things.

In the distance, Shirley was speechless. She was getting the Prismatic Soul Phoenix Clan to consider anyone other than Lea to have a relationship with them, but they were persistent until now. Her lips curled in derision, once again knowing absolute power was the ultimate form of gaining advantage in a negotiation.

’Well, they might not have the capability to make a decision until she, someone important from the Mavigglain Clan, arrived...’

Shirley inwardly nodded and appeared beside the store.

"What’s your name?"

"My apologies." Only now did the King-Tier Prismatic Soul Phoenix remember that she had forgotten to introduce herself both times.

"My name is Carmelia Mavigglain."

"Shirley Davis."

"Davis Loret."

They reintroduced themselves, and Shirley helped them transact.

Soon, the Davis Family obtained the complete Exalt Grade Manual of the Seven-Colored Phoenix and the incomplete Exalt Grade Manual of the Prismatic Soul Phoenix. As allies, the Divine Phoenix Galaxy was completely privy to the manuals humans make.

After all, they had also cooperated to create manuals so that they could understand themselves better. Even if they weren’t allies, there would be traitors within the magical beast clans in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy who wanted to return to their original clans.

Shirley was overjoyed. Now, they didn’t even need to visit the Skytune Clan to obtain their manual.

However, it wasn’t like she could use these manuals to their fullest extent. As a human with mixed blood from two opposing attributed phoenixes, she needed to create her own. For this, she needed a manual created from observing the behavior, runes, abilities, and souls of the Solar Emberwing Phoenix and Lunar Frostwing Phoenix. Clearly, she would be as busy as Natalya and her other sisters, who needed to make their own manuals.

Because they followed unique paths, the time it takes to advance in the Empyrean Stage and Exalt Stage was going to be significantly higher than for most supreme geniuses who already followed a path that was created for them by their powers.

Hence, obtaining these manuals earlier gave her the advantage of significantly shortening the time she needed to create her manuals.

Davis knew they had come with these treasures in order to bring Lea here in the first place.

He couldn’t help but ask, "Did you also bring the Divine Phoenix blood essence?"

By this time, he already had Barakiel chase away everyone except the Mavigglain Clan’s entourage.

At the same time, he used "Well-uh" a lot in his sentences as he glanced at Heim Mavigglain, sending him into a downward spiral.

Heim Mavigglain could tell Davis definitely knew who Wella Vertiga was and what kind of relationship they had. It threw him into a spiral of despair since he felt like he was cornered from all ends. Just standing near made him feel like he could die at any given moment.

The only saving grace was that the Divine Emperor of Death didn’t seem to want to harm him for fear of backlash to his family, that was here.

Heim Mavigglain convinced himself that things hadn’t gone to an irreversible state. However, he glanced at the Temporal Voidplane Ring and trembled ever so lightly. Almer Spacewill, who couldn’t be killed because of his near-absolute defense and the ability to pull into a timeless zone, had been killed by this person. He couldn’t ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach that this could only mean one thing: even Almer Spacewill’s master was unable to do anything about this calamity.

He planned on meeting the Divine Emperor of Death tonight or at a suitable time to explain himself.
