Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4650: Dangerous Encounters?

Chapter 4650: Dangerous Encounters?

Davis heard Fallen Heaven’s mocking voice before he shook his head at Fairy Thunderblaze.

"Believe what you will."

He said, but his brows suddenly squinted. If Fairy Thunderblaze was afraid, shouldn’t she have sent only an avatar? Why did she come before him with her true body? Was she worried about him?

He stared at her for a few seconds amidst the silence, "It’s one thing that you didn’t rob me or harm me, but for you to warn that serpent not to harm me, what’s in it for you?"

Fairy Thunderblaze’s eyes narrowed, "Did you forget about our deal? You’re taking your sweet time while I’m waiting for us to go to the Shard Continent. If you die, my investment will go down the drain."

"..."

Davis’s lips pursed, "My apologies for making you wait for some more time."

Fairy Thunderblaze’s brows twitched as she felt that he was unapologetic as ever. Was it her imagination, or was she the only woman to be brushed off like this by him?

She sized him up before asking, "What did you learn from the Divergent’s soul?"

Davis also sized her up. It wasn’t any strange that Fairy Thunderblaze knew he would search the Divergent’s memories since it was common for them to soulscour after they finished valuable targets. He wondered if he should make her pay up for the information, but decided to return the favor that he wasn’t willing to add to the pile of debts.

"Storm... Fusion of Wind Laws and Lightning Laws..." Fairy Thunderblaze’s lips curled.

It was adjacent to her own Firestorm Physique, which was a fusion of Fire Laws and Lightning Laws. She saw that his prowess was around ten or eleven levels higher. If they were to become dual cultivation partners, their cultivations would soar.

She gazed at Davis deeply, momentarily wondering if he would quickly take action to destroy him for this reason, but didn’t think so since he didn’t seem to know the cursed artifact’s effects.

She was really suspicious about his state of mind that could’ve been corrupted, but his sapphire eyes were still clear and full of hidden arrogance.

Only after confirming this did she nod her head, "If you don’t want to tell me about the cursed artifact, I’ll be taking my leave."

Davis nodded, "That’s all for today."

Fairy Thunderblaze didn’t argue and left.

Once she left, Davis’s calm face wryly smiled, ’She’s really mature...’

He shook his head lightly and traversed to a place where he marked the informants of his teams that he had sent out to hunt for evil supreme geniuses. They were the ones keeping an eye on the Heaven’s Warriors.

He landed before them and saw Houdini Terssky, who trembled with his teeth clattering. Evidently, he had also seen him use the cursed artifact.

"You did good." Davis nodded at him and gave him a High-Level Primarch Grade resource of his attribute.

Houdini Terssky didn’t dare to accept, but he couldn’t let Davis’s hand remain hanging, so he quickly accepted.

"Don’t think you have betrayed the human race or the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. I do not wish to kill, nor do I want to see the human race’s downfall. I’m just curious about the cursed artifact and became finally aware of its frightening nature, which is quite... a lackluster to me."

Davis smiled faintly, "How is it for you?"

He took out the Malevolent Demon Erasure Fan from the jade container and displayed it to him.

Houdini Terssky’s face went pale. He staggered back in fright and fell to the ground.

"..."

Without asking further, Davis kept the fan inside after sealing it again. He got his answer.

The corruption effect of the cursed artifact was simply great for normal people. At least, after one usage, its corruptive aura grew. Fairy Thunderblaze also seemed to fear it a bit, so he was forced to think that Divergents aren’t necessarily exempt from its horrifying nature.

After a few seconds, Houdini Terssky finally recollected himself as he stood up and wryly smiled, appearing embarrassed.

"Aren’t you affected...?"

"Nah..." Davis chuckled, "In any case, relay my thanks to Filang Bach and Lanbi Firefall and their teams. The Heaven’s Warriors sure fled in different directions to confuse me, but with your help, I was able to pinpoint them easily."

"Will do. I won’t monopolize this gift."

Houdini Terssky nodded heavily.

"Do as you will."

Davis only wanted to reward the finder for this matter.

He hovered and shot away, leaving behind a supreme genius who couldn’t fathom how mysterious and terrifying the Divine Emperor of Death was for him to be able to resist the effects of cursed artifacts, which had even made Exalts and Primarchs go mad.

Sure, the cursed artifact itself was only announced to be at Peak-Level Empyrean Grade, so it’s corruptive nature wouldn’t fare much against Exalts and Primarch unless they used it but for him and other Immortal Emperors, even if they were supreme geniuses who could match Mid-Level Empyreans in prowess, would they be able to resist against this cursed artifact while it was unsealed?

The answer was no!

Davis flew back to his wives. However, he didn’t head back to the marketplace straightaway. He first went to visit Myria to see if everything was fine there. With Niera basically appearing like a sun in the skies, she was like a beacon and could attract trouble.

Although Nadia’s doppelganger and Freya were also there to help, Davis felt that there were too many dangerous episodes during this gathering.

The characters convened were dangerous. Although the Serpent Divergent didn’t look like she could harm him, with a race name like Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Serpent, it was inevitable that Davis would feel worried. He could only imagine what kind of other terrifying geniuses or Divergents were out there.

He once again became worried about Bylai and the others, feeling that he should head to their Shard Region faster.

This time, many dangerous characters convened because of the gathering. If not, they might not have come, so that was the only solace in his thought process. His worry decreased a bit as a result, allowing him to breathe better.

Once he saw Myria, his heart flashed with brightness.

Such a powerful Saintess wouldn’t lose to anyone.

He informed her about the cursed artifact and the findings from the Storm Divergent.
