Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4665: Wrathful Aeons Fortress

Chapter 4665: Wrathful Aeons Fortress

After what seemed to be a long period of time, Tia’s eyelids fluttered open slowly.

Her breathing was soft, but no longer weak. She was still in a groggy state as she sat up and rubbed her eyes with the back of her palm. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed a person walking towards her.

“Tia, you’re finally awake. Are you feeling well?”

Tia’s gaze became clearer and clearer with each passing moment. The purple-robed lady in front of her possessed a worried smile.

“Big sister…” Tia smiled at Evelynn cheerfully, “I’m fine. When did I come back?”

“It’s been only six hours. Husband healed you fully before he left.”

“I see.” Tia’s lips curled.

She stretched her limbs a few times before getting off the bed and looked around the room, noticing that the room was spacious yet carried a warm and tranquil atmosphere.

The walls were carved with intricate patterns of lotus blossoms, their faint etchings glowing under the soft illumination of jade lamps fixed high near the corners. A long wooden beam crossed the ceiling, from which a single silken tassel dangled, swaying gently with the faint wind that passed through the latticed windows.

The bed she had been lying on was not overly large, but it was sturdy, crafted from fragrant sandalwood with subtle carvings of clouds along its frame. Its sheets were pale-gold, smooth to the touch, while a folded quilt embroidered with phoenix feathers rested neatly at its edge.

Against one wall stood a tall wooden wardrobe with polished bronze fittings, its surface reflecting a muted shine from the lamps. Beside it, a low table held a jade tea set, a half-full pot still steaming faintly as though someone had been keeping vigil. The air smelled faintly of crushed herbs, likely from the incense burner resting on a narrow stand near the window, its smoke curling lazily upward.

She couldn’t help but look at Evelynn and nod gratefully.

Everything about this room made her feel like she was back at home, but this was just their fortress. Regardless, she could tell this was done to aid her recovery faster.

On the far side, a screen divider of lacquered black wood stood upright, painted with a serene landscape of mountains and rivers. Behind it, a basin and a few folded towels hinted at a small washing area. Further beside was the restroom.

She first went to clean herself up before coming back, appearing refreshed.

“Big sister, did big brother leave already?”

“Yes,” Evelynn answered, “He didn’t stay for long, quickly leaving as though something was weighing on his mind. It’s obvious that he wanted to go get Bylai and the others, but that doesn’t seem to be the only issue. His temple squinted ever so lightly, which means it’s a pressing matter.”

Tia nodded.

Davis obviously seemed to be in a hurry, and he didn’t make the effort to hide it, although he didn’t say what it was either. Was the secret realm closing? In that case, there was no need to hide it, so she guessed there was some kind of undefeatable or incredibly challenging danger looming closer.

The fact that he left them in a safe place meant that he couldn’t afford to bring them together or risk annihilation.

“Yes, we even had to leave Niera there. Only big sister Myria is capable of protecting her while the rest of us would be nothing but dead weight.” Tia heaved a light breath.

Evelynn frowned visibly. She hoped that they would be safe, whatever they were facing.

“Don’t worry. He brought you all here because of the fortress we built. No one can get inside unless they are above Peak-Level Empyreans, but if they were, they would be breaking the limit of this Shard Region. No one managed to do such a thing, so we’re safe here, but if they do end up getting inside against all odds…” Evelynn merely smiled, not saying anything anymore.

“Where are the others who were here?” Tia asked, “I don’t sense the children.”

“Oh, they have gone outside to search for treasures as a form of socializing with their new mother. I have already called them back before Davis left, so they’ll be here soon. Just in case, Nadia and Isabella have gone to pick them up.”

Hearing Evelynn’s explanation, Tia couldn’t help but giggle.

“I hope sister Juili manages to win them over.”

“It’s going well.” Evelynn nodded tersely.

The two of them walked out of the room, exited the chamber, and entered the hallway, heading to the main hall of their palace.

Shirley, Flamerose, Frostrose, and Dewzai sat on the luxurious and comfy couches positioned opposite each other, chatting. Once they noticed Tia coming, they didn’t seem surprised since they already sensed her soul sense sweeping over them earlier. Instead, they smiled at her.

“You nearly exhausted yourself to death. Did darling really push you hard?”

“Of course not.” Tia walked towards them and sat beside Shirley, “I did it for my own sake. The corresponding reward I got is worth it. See?”

She flicked her right hand, and a few vials emerged between her fingers. She turned her hand back and forth as though showing off jewelry, making the others laugh lightly, but at the same time, they could sense the peculiarity of the blood essence. Although there was no leak, its aura had already affected the vial.

Through it, they could sense that the blood essence wasn’t ordinary but was of the Grand Ancestral Beast Rank.

“This blood essence is at the peak of the Immortal Emperor Grade, but its potency is no less than Mid-Level Empyrean Grade. This can be used in many karmic techniques, but I’m not going to use them for that. I’m going to use it to increase the prowess of my soul physique.”

“That’s great.” Shirley nodded.

“But just the blood essence won’t do.” Tia added, “I’m thinking of using a karmic-attributed Empyrean Grade resource to aid in making a suitable pill. I would need Dalila here to pick a compatible main ingredient that goes along with the serpent’s blood essence. I can help her pick, but I’ll have to rely on her for the concoction.”

“Then we must wait for darling to return with Dalila. Until then, you should continue to rest.”

Before Tia could reply, there was a commotion outside.

They smiled at each other, knowing the children had returned.

“Phew, where’s papa?”

A crimson-white robed Eterna, with her blazing crimson hair, first entered through the door with a jump, with her hands stretched. With a deep smile, she gazed around but couldn’t see him anywhere, making her blink.

Celestia, clad in a purple robe, followed suit, her purple hair with ringlets swaying as she walked, “Father obviously left earlier. There are many things to do.”

A golden-white robed man entered the hall, hurriedly looking for a person with a worried look on his face.

“Mother? Where is my mother?” Lucian couldn’t help but ask.

Evelynn explained, “Sister Niera is still engaged in cultivation in another Shard Region. Mother Myria, Freya, and Nadia’s doppelganger remained behind to protect her.”

“Oh…” Lucian looked like he understood, but he found something amiss since they were convened and told not to go out anymore, which meant there was a possibility of danger. He was worried about his mother.

Nonetheless, he couldn’t help but relax since he was also nervous

“Ma~” Azariel entered with a smug look on his face. He ran his hands through his purple-green hair, “Viridia found a man.”
