Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4774 The Knot In the Heart

Chapter 4774  The Knot In the Heart

After Rioxys Plume delivered him and went back to hide in the True Deity Grade Concealment Formation Disc, Davis looked around and saw that no one was waiting for him before the spatial vortex to the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region.

'Usually, it would be Nadia's doppelganger awaiting me, but if she isn't here, then she must've been assigned to another mission or had even gone back to pick up those who are in the Sanctuary in the Lower Realm…'

Davis really didn't consider them being in danger because he could still sense Nadia was still alive.

She would've also likely sensed that he had died and revived, but as he had told her, she must've remained quiet.

His resurrection always reproduced everything that remained in his soul like it were being reconstructed from a server, which was his three Spiritual Souls or the Truesoul. That's why his beast pact with Nadia and the others remained, the same reason why Fairy Thunderblaze's charm also didn't disperse since it was entrenched in his soul essence, not to mention the Covenant that even affected his Truesoul.

However, Davis also felt that there was another explanation for this matter.

'Hmm… to my Everlasting Samsara Tribunal Soul Physique, it seems like there may be a state between the state of life and the state of death. Becoming a ghost means I have died, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I'm dead in the realistic sense. It's like I'm grabbing the cliff, trying to get up… Killing me only serves to sever my hand, causing me to fall, but the chasm is only a few feet tall, allowing me to easily land and jump back to try again in climbing over the mountain…'

'The only way to deal with me is to seal the path of climbing up… or destroy the surface that leads to the depths- to my death…'

Davis's brows squinted, 'The latter is difficult to execute the stronger I get, but the former is easier. Many Divergents have been sealed. I will be no exception. One mistake, and I'm done… that's why I need all the help I can get, even Zenova's…'

He stared at the spatial vortex for a few seconds before wryly smiling, 'Who am I trying to convince after kissing her fiercely of my own volition…?'

Davis guessed he was hesitant about how to open up about this matter after saying he was only going to journey with Fairy Thunderblaze in order to return the debt. He had returned the debt, and whatever debt there was also used up by her to charm him, so he hadn't necessarily failed in returning the debt, but ultimately, he had ended up liking Fairy Thunderblaze, yet he also hated her for being so despicable in her methods.

'I've sent her alone to a celestial body in an Upper Realm space, which is dangerous… There could be some unknown Exalt lurking there, hiding from authorities or even Vacuous Beasts of that level… If she survives and finds a suitable place for the family… she passes one of the many trials I will have her go through…'

Davis hardened his heart as he suppressed the worry that swelled within him. He had always been soft on the women he had liked, and this was no different, but she had struck him at his most vulnerable moment, and that was a betrayal he couldn't forget and forgive so easily. He was rearing to take revenge on her, yet he couldn't.

Despite savoring the supreme delicacy that was known as Zenova Artoria, a bad taste lingered in his mouth.

Perhaps if he had taken revenge on Fairy Velvetmoon, all this vexation would've faded, and he could've seen Fairy Thunderblaze eye to eye and punished her without resorting to acting like he had been charmed. However, he couldn't take revenge on Fairy Velvetmoon due to her being protected by Rioxys Plume. He couldn't bring himself to chide an innocent spirit who was full of hope for the future, nor was he overpowered enough to defeat Rioxys Plume.

Therefore, he was still left with the vexation of being unable to inflict pain on them to obtain his revenge, and because of it, he had even killed a person without even uttering a single word, which was unlike him, although he still felt his decision was correct since he had been facing a person of destiny who might possess various escape methods.

Once he escaped, even a Realm Calamity might 'accidentally' intervene to save him.

Shaking his head, he knew matters of the heart can't be taken lightly, and revenge was best served as a cold dish.

'Since I decided to take Fairy Thunderblaze as my woman, then I need to face my own hatred that clouds my heart and convince my wives to consider our situation…'

Davis walked forward into the spatial vortex, knowing that he may be willing to act like he was charmed around Fairy Thunderblaze, but his wives would not, and neither would they watch her throw around her weight, ordering them to be demoted into consorts and concubines. They would totally chop her to pieces.

As he entered the spatial vortex, Davis felt a terrifying pressure suppress him, but it wasn't overwhelming.

'As expected, I'm hovering over the limit of High-Level Shard Regions after having comprehended Laws comparable to Level One Quintessence, and my base prowess is almost near to Level Twelve Empyrean Stage.'

Once Davis entered the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region, he noticed the suppression was light but was also highly restrictive. He guessed he couldn't perform an attack here, which endangers lifeforms, which left him vulnerable to attacks, but regardless, he didn't care, as no one could defeat him here.

As for the Laws that had reached Level One Quintessence in comparison, it was none other than Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, State of Divine Possession. Level One Quintessence is considered to be a Law Intent in the Exalt Grade! Empyreans are able to comprehend it since there are no comprehension limit from Empyrean Stage onwards, but one could see the feat he had achieved.

Even a True Deity Spirit acknowledged that becoming an Omega Exalt was already within reach for him.

"Heh~" Still, Davis scoffed as he knew he wouldn't be able to use it because of a lack of energy, but it sure did result in him getting suppressed.

But suddenly, he felt a surge of excitement and worry as he knew Evelynn was looking through his eyes.

"Wait! I'm coming to you!"

Throwing a few words of the Sky Words Language into the air, he dashed forward, his figure disappearing like the wind.

In what felt like moments, he arrived at the fortress that had opened for him, and he hurriedly embraced the purple-robed figure who jumped into his arms.

"Davis!"

"Evelynn!"

The two of them hugged each other deeply while many flew into the skies to welcome him, their warm and eager voices overlapping with each other as it garnered Davis's attention, finally causing him to become nearly teary-eyed as he recalled battling the Blood Realm Calamity to the death, hiding in the plant lifeform from an Archon, and then suffering endless pain as blood energy continued to topple his energy system, even now but milder. He nearly choked, but managed to utter a word with a bright smile.

"I'm back."
