Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4966 Final Visit

Chapter 4966  Final Visit

Davis headed out from the Loret mansion when he met a surprise guest at the entrance.

"Oh, my sweet little Lydia. You also want to let your grandparents know?"

Lydia entered along with Evelynn, Ellia, and Myria.

She grinned, "Naturally, I'm not going to be half-hearted about this, Father. My immediate family members all should know, right?"

"Good girl."

Davis appeared before her and patted her head.

Lydia pouted but didn't dodge or flick his hand away. She blushed ever so lightly, admittedly, like it more than necessary.

He took a look at Evelynn, Ellia, and Myria before nodding.

Although the entourage had significantly lessened, it was better to come here with a smaller number lest it create a commotion. Evelynn was someone who more or less visited this mansion, so her presence wouldn't create any doubts.

"Ah, that's enough~"

Lydia finally couldn't take it and moved his hand away, holding it with a pout, "You're going to ruin my hair. Also, stop petting me from now on."

Davis chuckled, "Hehe, never. I will continue to pet my children even after they grow up."

"Fhm~"

Lydia threw his hand away and walked past him, causing Evelynn and Ellia to giggle silently before they bid farewell to Davis.

Davis saw that Myria had also accepted Lydia in her heart, causing him to feel relieved. It made sense considering Myria had gone through so many reincarnations. She wouldn't mind even if someone's memories of their previous life resurfaced, and still having the previous incarnation's soul wasn't a problem either.

Feeling some encouragement, Davis left.

Lydia's entourage continued on before finally receiving a secretive meeting with her grandparents.

"Little Lydia, what happened? Are you fine? Is there anything bothering you greatly for you to arrange a secret meeting?"

Claire bent and held Lydia's face, her expression worried.

Her eyes, which were swollen red was nowhere to be seen, already having been fixed with makeup. However, Logan looked at Claire with a doubtful look, knowing she had cried hard since he recognized the difference in her voice. When he came to fetch her since Lydia requested a secretive meeting with them, Claire's expression was quite dodgy.

'Strange… what did she talk about with Davis for so long for her to cry so badly…? Did Davis's previous mortal mother somehow return or something?' Logan wondered.

He didn't doubt this could happen since their family was surrounded by strange phenomena a few times. There were already a few cases of reincarnation, like Davis's master, Garvin Woller, reincarnating into Rellow Alstreim, causing Davis to accept him as his disciple.

He then turned to look at Lydia, wondering what's up with this little and cute pipsqueak, his expression easing into a heartened smile.

"Greetings, grandma and grandpa."

Lydia cupped her hands, starting in a formal and respectful tone, "A lot of things happened today, one of which has exposed my true identity. I'm here to confess that I'm a reincarnator and wish to be accepted as one of your grandchildren again as Lydia Davis."

"…"

For a moment, both Claire and Logan went silent.

They couldn't understand her words well and even felt a sense of deja vu where Little Davis's figure superimposed with Lydia's.

Suddenly, they both flinched, their eyes turned wide before they looked at Evelynn and the others.

Evelynn nodded silently, her expression calm with a light smile.

Her reaction told them this was not a big secret anymore, and within the Davis Family, she was already accepted, causing them to heave a heavy breath.

Logan was intrigued after the fear left his body. He couldn't help but look between Claire and Lydia.

"You… you couldn't be Davis's previous mother, right?"

"Eh?" Lydia.

"Eh?" Claire, Evelynn, and Ellia.

"…!?" Myria's expression froze. She held her breath subconsciously,

"…" Receiving the stares, Logan coughed lightly, "Never mind. It seems like my thoughts were clouded."

'Don't tell me… it's her…'

Claire blinked at her husband before she looked at Lydia, recalling the strange words Zenova had spoken during their last meeting. Zenova didn't stop visiting her after that one day. She came every two days to visit her and talked about Davis a lot, including saying something about how he truly loves his mother, a bit more than what a normal mother-son relationship demands.

Those words also had a part in confusing her state of mind when Davis closed the door on her, but the most important part was Davis trying to reassure her of Evan and Laura's matter and absolve her of the guilt, but ended up making her misunderstand that he was trying to separate her from Logan and Nora.

Regardless, if Lydia was Davis's previous mother, then it would make sense why she would utter such a thing.

"No, no, no~" Lydia giggled as she shook her hand before cupping her hands again and bowing, "My previous identity belongs to Alicia Starshroud, Phoenix Priestess of the Starshroud Family, a power hidden in the Upper Realms. In terms of cultivation, I had reached the Exalt Stage at around three hundred years, but I had to forcefully reincarnate because I was poisoned to death and ended up with my new mother."

Lydia took a step back and held Ellia's hand, causing the latter to smile and caress Lydia's head, showing their close, unbreakable bond.

"…" Claire and Logan's eyes went wide.

An Exalt-level character had actually reincarnated into their family, unlike Davis, who was only a mortal. This kind of security threat- how did Davis deal with it and make sure everything was fine?

"Good, good of you to confess and seek acceptance from us." Claire regained herself and smiled lightly.

But inwardly, she couldn't quite grasp the weight of the situation since many things were going on in her mind now.

Evan and Laura had an affair, and no one knew. How could she even bring this shameful matter to light? It was haunting her like a ghost. Furthermore-

"Alicia Starshroud…" Logan uttered, "A good name. I don't mind if you want to continue to use this name."

Lydia looked taken aback before she gained more respect for her grandpa.

"No, I decided to abandon that identity. I'm Lydia Davis, and I want everyone to accept me as such."

"What a good determination." Logan nodded firmly, "Alright, since everything is taken care of by your father and mothers, I shall not stand on ceremony or remain hesitant. You are indeed my granddaughter, Lydia Davis."

"I am honored~" Lydia's cupped hands clenched firmer, full of gratitude.

"Naturally, you're still our Lydia." Claire's lips curled before she glanced at Logan, giving him a side eye, "If only someone could've accepted Davis as easily as they did for Lydia,"

"Wha- I was the one doing the security measures, not you, who was clouded by her emotions."

"Mmph~ You unnecessarily beat him up~" Claire folded her arms and poutingly harrumphed.

Logan raised his hand, "You- that was him asking for body tempering training and learning pain resistance."

"You still wanted to beat him up~"

"…"

Logan was speechless. There was no winning against his wife, so he dropped his hand, as he did with this matter.

Lydia couldn't help but smile sweetly as she saw them bicker.

They were truly an adorable couple.

She opened her mouth, intending to convey her heartfelt emotions.
