Chapter 5176: Towards The Galaxy Wormhole
"No way you’re all here to reverse the Desolate Era..."
A black-robed, purple-haired man uttered with a sense of disbelief as he looked at the people around him gathered in the captain’s cabin.
"And deal with the... the Galaxy Wormhole..." He uttered with even more disbelief.
Everyone turned to look at him.
This person was none other than Zevonn Malark.
"Who’s this again?" Lereza blinked.
Davis, as an avatar, raised his hand over the back of his head as he flailed his blonde hair.
"A talented talent that our Davis Family needs."
"Oh? What’s he talented in?" Glacia Frigidveil asked in a melodious voice.
"Fleeing."
Davis pursed his lips, leaving the others speechless.
"You’re really trying to overturn the Desolate Era?" Jillian Hayden looked at Davis with a complicated gaze.
Having gotten aboard on this High-Level Exalt Grade Flying Ship from the Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder equipped with a lot of formations including concealment formations, they were safely traveling to the Galaxy Wormhole, but Jillian Hayden wasn’t aware of most of the details about the galaxy war since she was mostly locked up.
However, she was aware what meant to overturn the Desolate Era.
It was inconceivable if it occurred naturally since it would be considered a natural cycle and reversing it would only breed more calamity if done improperly, but this Desolate Era was something that appeared after the terrifying Empyrean Tribulation of the Divine Emperor of Death.
It was clear the heavens wanted to force everyone to kill him.
"Hmm." Davis nodded, not hiding it anymore from Jillian Hayden since she decided to come with them.
He then turned to look at Evelynn and the others, going over the plan to poison the Galaxy Wormhole one more time while also relaying real time info from the main body to them.
At this time, the main body still hadn’t encountered the Celestial Transcendent, but they were already half way to the Galaxy Wormhole since the flying ship was very fast, warping every five minutes as it connected one space from another into a stable spatial tunnel and exited the other side.
Meanwhile, Jillian Hayden still looked at Davis with a complicated expression on her face.
She couldn’t help but recall their conversation before they went underground to deal with the Saint’s forces.
At that time, Davis approached her by the time she finished concocting the poison for Evelynn’s mixed bloodline.
[
"Here."
"What is the meaning of this?" Jillian Hayden’s gaze shook as she saw the familiar jade hairpin, the one that contained the poison essence of the Corrupted Celestial Venom Spirit.
He presented it to her, making her doubt if it was really that jade hairpin or was just an empty hairpin.
"Just returning what’s yours." Davis shrugged before placing it over the desk.
"Wouldn’t you need it for whatever you’re trying to achieve?"
"I would, but what I’m going to ask is more important and for that, you need to be free of the status of a prisoner through most means. Since you now own your poisonous jade hairpin heirloom, I suppose you no longer need to fear me."
"..."
Jillian Hayden raised her brow with a glaring gaze, as though asking him that if she could do something about him, would he have still given back the poisonous jade hairpin?
However, she didn’t ask and accepted it.
"Thank you." She said softly, her cheeks revealing a light rosy hue unknowingly as she felt more secure with this in her hand.
It was as though she returned to the time when she was still the Young Mistress of the Hayden Family, making her lips quiver a bit grievously as she recalled her parents, little brother and a few others she cared about.
Some of them might probably be dead.
With a sigh, she returned to reality as she didn’t care about them anymore, choosing to ignore them lest she harms them.
Refocusing her gaze on Davis, she said after heaving a relaxed breath, "I want to leave with you since I don’t think I can survive out here, especially after I helped you escape the Supreme One."
Davis blinked before he nodded, "That works."
He turned around to leaven when he heard her voice.
"What did you want to ask me?"
Davis paused before shooting a look at her with a turn of his head, "I already received the answer."
"Wait..."
Jillian Hayden raised her hand, her gaze appearing complicated, "I don’t know what you’re here for, but is it possible for you to... forgive Venerable Knight Lussandra?"
Davis turned his body to look at her, his gaze turning cold.
Jillian Hayden shuddered as she instantly adopted a defensive posture, "I mean- she just wanted to save me. I don’t know what kind of history you two have but it shouldn’t be that irreconcilable, right?"
"Huh?" Davis looked offended, "Why would I reconcile with a Heaven’s Warrior?"
"You- then how did you form a Covenant with the Supreme One? Didn’t he allow you to live for some time because he determined you were not innately evil?"
"Heh, that woman harmed one of my wives. I won’t let her go, so stop pleading for her."
"..."
Jillian Hayden could only shut her mouth.
She felt like she might be slapped if she said something again.
The Divine Emperor of Death’s reverse scale was indeed his women.
She looked away and harrumphed, "Fine with me. You can take revenge, but if you kill Venerable Knight Lussandra, don’t think I’ll help you willingly anymore unless you want to force me."
"I’m already aware."
Davis responded sharply.
Only a fool would force a Poison Apothecary to make medicine. Would the Poison Apothecary make a medicine or a poison? They would never know until they tried it because the medicine was always a poison but whether it would counteract the poison or the ailment in one’s body or add fire to the fuel was unknown.
"Fhm~"
Jillian Hayden made a soft, disgruntled noise before looking at him leave. She muttered under her breath, "Bad person."
]
She could only feel sorry for Venerable Knight Lussandra who tried to help her numerous times after saving her. She admired such a woman and wished nothing bad would happen to her but evidently, she was wrong a little while later when she learned he literally ambushed Venerable Knight Lussandra and ripped through her abdomen with a long curved blade.
Nonetheless, that seemingly normal conversation held so much weight for her right now after she learned that he, his family and allies were all here to accomplish two things that made her feel little and inadequate for just trying to survive all by herself and complaining the world was unfair to her.
"What?"
On the flying ship’s cabin, Davis noticed that Jillian Hayden was practically about to cry.
"I’m sorry... I said something so selfish to you back then... I’ll help you without expecting anything in return."
"..."
Davis didn’t know what to say. He honestly didn’t need Jillian Hayden’s help since her poison concoction wasn’t that special. After all, his Dalila had made the pill necessary for him to fuse chaos with destruction.
What could be greater than that when even the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor was whining about the usage of chaos-destruction, saying it was cheating.
Dalila was the queen when it came to pill arts in his heart. In front of her, every other concoctions lost their pride.
Nonetheless, he comforted Jillian Hayden, "Don’t cry. It’s not like we have succeeded in our endeavor. We are still in danger and you could end up dying."
"Still!" Jillian Hayden appeared moved, "Even with attempting to do something crazy like reversing the Desolate Era right under the noses of the hydra realm and the Heaven’s Warriors- even the Heavens!- you still had the time to help me. I’m forced to think you’re a good person when I know you’re not!"
Davis turned stunned while the expressions of the others flickered.
"Well... if you think I’m a good person... then I am..." Davis chuckled dryly.
Jillian Hayden didn’t even hear it. She walked away from the cabin as she felt embarrassed for making a scene, for making a fool out of herself.
Evelynn’s lips curled, "It’s good that she can relax and show her emotions. I was afraid she’d remain broken."
Davis shrugged.
He wasn’t really in the mood for showing a lot of consideration because of what the plan entailed for this group right now. They needed to get infinitely close to the Galaxy Wormhole before using the Hell Poison Gem’s replica, and the worst thing that could happen was Evelynn getting poisoned by her own treasure.
After all, she had never released such a load of hell poison at once.
"I’m no longer connected with my main body..." Davis said suddenly as his eyes narrowed.
Evelynn and the others didn’t find it strange. They were a long distance away from the tribulation site and almost reached the battlefield.
"Holy heavens! The battle has begun." Davis sensed that his main body had died, making him shocked beyond compare as well as estimate who might be behind this attack.
"Who is it you’re battling?" Evelynn asked timely.
Davis hesitated for a moment before saying in a calm tone, "The Celestial Transcendent."
"..." Evelynn’s eyes widened. She shuddered ever so lightly, but forcefully stabbed her scythes over her back as though prickling herself with needles.
For his sake, she knew she must succeed. Otherwise, if more rulers entered this realm, then there really wouldn’t be a way for them to succeed or even escape, much less live because the rulers of the eight galaxies would all wish for the Divine Emperor of Death to perish first.
They would surely find the continent they’re living in through their sheer powers.
Soon, they appeared near the outskirts of the battlefield.
The scent of blood was so thick that it nearly made Lereza nauseous. As a wood-attributed spirit fey, she hated this smell.
