Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5178: Mass Grim Death’s Awakening

Chapter 5178: Mass Grim Death’s Awakening

A deathly stillness spread across the battlefield.

The countless cultivators who had been locked in desperate combat slowly halted their movements, their expressions turning pale as they watched the phenomenon unfold.

The battlefield itself seemed to breathe as the darkness seeped through the cracks of space. An eerie purple radiance spread across the sea of corpses without being bound by any kind of energy or formation.

One by one, they rose. From the center, hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands into hundred thousands.

Corpses that should have remained drifting lifeless amidst the void opened their eyes once more.

A middle-aged human cultivator clad in shattered golden armor stood upright despite the lower half of his body having long been obliterated. His intestines hung loose, swaying in the air, while one of his arms was entirely missing.

The insignia engraved upon his armor belonged to the Hexadra Clan. It seemed like he was a fallen general who shared the blood of the Hexadra Clan.

His lifeless eyes now blazed with a cold purplish glow, and his expression remained solemn.

Nearby, an elderly woman who had clearly perished protecting her companions slowly raised her head.

Half of her face was gone, skull exposed, and one eye socket remained empty.

Her robes had been reduced to tattered strips soaked in blood, but her insignia was visible, making her appear to be a person from the Gale Burial Pavilion. Nevertheless, she still clutched a broken spear tightly in her hand as though unwilling to let go even in death.

Further away, a massive gray wolf beast stood up amidst drifting fragments of flesh. Its entire body had nearly been cleaved apart from the crown of its head to its abdomen. Its organs spilled out endlessly.

One of its eyes dangled from its socket. Even so, it released a low howl filled with hatred.

Not far from it, a gigantic bird with the body of a serpent, appearing to be several kilometers long, coiled itself back together. It was a basilisk. Its body had been severed into three separate pieces.

Blood essence continuously leaked from the wounds, yet under the influence of death energy, the severed portions floated together as though held together by invisible strings.

Its slit pupils burned with overwhelming resentment.

Apart from these powerful corpses at the peak of the Exalt Stage, even ghosts emerged.

A young cultivator appeared with an expression twisted with unwillingness.

He stared toward the Hydra Galaxy forces with eyes full of hatred.

Beside him floated a woman whose soul had been torn apart during battle. Her translucent body flickered constantly, yet her beautiful features were distorted by fury.

She remembered a few things vaguely, like being cornered, her disciples perishing right in front of her as she tried to defend them while the enemies laughed before crushing her right under their feet.

There was no fear left within her.

All that was left was only vengeance and rage, only an endless desire to make those who killed her suffer.

As more and more corpses rose, the oppressive aura engulfing the battlefield intensified. Their resentment and rage overwhelmed the living.

Millions of eyes glowing with deathly purple light slowly turned toward the Hydra Galaxy.

For a brief moment, even the beasts who had been mocking the Human Galaxy moments earlier lost their smiles.

The hundreds and thousands of corpses and ghosts didn’t wait for any command. They recognized that the Divine Emperor of Death, the person in control of them, pointed his hand forward, towards the Galaxy Wormhole, the Hydra Galaxy, and they began rushing towards it without a word.

Hydra Galaxy? Human Galaxy? Their thoughts and Will? To the dead, it didn’t matter. They rushed to the forces of the Hydra Galaxy and began wreaking havoc upon them without discrimination.

In the command pavilion, the Celestial Transcendent walked out along with a few others and saw this scene, their eyes narrowing with shock.

Even the Celestial Transcendent shared the same expression.

What the heck was this lad doing here when he was fighting a life-or-death battle with one of his avatars!?

Moreover, it seemed like he had used some kind of karmic art to grab the attention all to himself!

Misdirection!

Davis lowered his hands, looking a bit tired after raising hundreds and thousands of corpses and ghosts with Grim Death’s Awakening. He focused on quality, so there were thousands of Exalts and Primarchs in his ranks, a few dozen at the High Exalt Stage and nearly six at the Peak Exalt Stage.

The rest were all High and Peak Stage Empyrean characters.

It didn’t weigh upon his conscience, but it sure did weigh upon his Will to have so many souls tied to him.

However, he didn’t feel exhausted yet.

He then cast a gaze towards the Galaxy Wormhole, wondering if Evelynn could make it there safely with Illumina’s concealment technique while all the attention was on him. Still, he couldn’t help but shudder as the number of powerful gazes on him was still too many, not to mention extremely powerful, particularly the gaze coming from the back and the gaze coming from the front- from a hydra.

A Nine-Headed Hydra, a True Exalt Beast whose true prowess reached the Realm Beast Stage due to her connection with the Upper Realm’s Real Core on the other side!

’This isn’t going to be easy...’ Davis thought as he sensed the one from the back was approaching him.

"Well, well, if it isn’t the Divine Emperor of Death~"

The Realm Master of the other side laughed amusedly, her laughter sounding more opulent as though she was a rich young lady, but with a piercing vibration.

Before Davis could respond, she continued.

"You have just appeared and grabbed all the attention. Could it be that you’re looming to grab my attention? Have you come here to hand yourself over to me? Ah, now that I look at you, aren’t you a fine-looking human? I have yet to taste an Anarchic Divergent, much less a Desolate Divergent. How does a night filled with passion sound to you?"

Davis raised his brows, "Does that mean you tasted a Divergent?"

"Don’t make me blush~" Realm Master Felza Nyssadra waved her arm.

"Damn..." Davis went speechless.

He didn’t expect women of the hydra race to be even more raunchy than the men. Was this a racial hazard?

He didn’t think so.

He guessed this hydra just wanted to live her life to the best. Her appetite was truly huge!

In the ground where the corpse and ghosts had begun to carve their way through, Illumina dashed underneath the shadows of everyone.

Evelynn sat as she leaned on Illumina’s spectral rabbit body.

When she heard Realm Master Felza Nyssadra flirting with Davis, her gaze turned cold as she raised her head and looked towards the distance at the Nine-Headed Hydra.

She barely managed to conceal her killing intent, lowering her head.

"Hehe, it’s fine." Realm Master Felza Nyssadra waved her hand shyly, "I know you would serve well in bed since the rumors of you liking women supersede your capability in Death Laws, but unfortunately, what my Supreme Ruler wants will be prioritized. I will exchange you for a night with my great Hell Hydra Monarch. Sigh, I still can’t forget his touch."

She uttered dreamily as her nine heads swayed before she threw her hand forward and pointed with her sharp claw.

"Get him~"

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

Two Nine-Headed Hydra royal guards rushed towards Davis.

Their oppressive undulations at Level Nine Exalt Beast Stage blared out in an attempt to keep him in check. Their formless aura turned into a dense atmosphere, the airspace turning thick like it was at the deepest levels in the ocean.
