Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5381: A Ghostly Divine Exalt?

Chapter 5381: A Ghostly Divine Exalt?

Davis recalled their encounter in the Elemental Dimension.

While being hunted by the Blood Realm Calamity, he helped Lady Thunderwraith obtain the Peak-Level Exalt Grade resource, a Black Abyss Lake Ghostpearl that contains the ghostly essence required for her entry into the Divine Exalt Stage. With this, she would indeed be able to unlock the second level of her Godskull.

Master Deathseeker’s previous incarnation also told him about Ghost Faith.

[It doesn’t matter where they are as long as they worship me. Ghost faith is easier to gather than the faith from the living since the ghosts are mostly just a mass of resentment, which is a form of faith in their own desire to live or take revenge, making it easier to extract. Furthermore, even visiting an ancient cemetery as a Divine Exalt Ghost can allow you to harvest the faith of ’death’ from those who don’t even know you. You should also consider following the path of Divine Exalt in the future since my Withering Ghost Tome’s Godskull makes it possible for you to do the same.]

That ghost of Master Deathseeker’s previous incarnation had advised him back then, so it made sense that Lady Thunderwraith wouldn’t be starved of faith for her breakthrough.

Considering all this, Davis nodded, "You’ve already sworn your loyalty to me. Why would I not help you? Alright, I have plenty of Exalt Stage Ghosts, a few at the peak. How many do you need?"

Lady Thunderwraith quivered.

If she could obtain the faith of other Exalt Ghosts, her Godskull would become much more powerful, allowing her prowess to rise.

She discussed the matters and eventually arrived at a quantity. She didn’t need all Exalt Stage Ghosts since the limit of the Godskull was to be considered. She needed a limited number of Exalt Stage Ghosts, Empyrean Stage Ghosts, and Immortal Emperor Stage Ghosts.

Hence, she needed nine Exalt Stage ghosts, a thousand Empyrean Stage ghosts, and a billion Immortal Stage ghosts, although that would vary depending on whether they were Immortal Emperors or Immortal Foundation Stage cultivators.

However, she didn’t burden Davis for the billion Immortal Stage ghosts. She could get them easily just by roaming a few cities and their burial grounds. There were plenty of dead immortals from time immemorial left to rot in the burial grounds. The faith energy they had left behind from resentment was harvestable. Naturally, it was not sustainable unless the undead actively worshiped her, but this wasn’t a problem since there were too many to run out of.

She could gather them again after using all their faith energy. It was just like breathing heaven and earth energy.

The only problem was having active faith worshipers of Empyreans and Exalts.

However, the Divine Emperor of Death easily solved this problem, instantly fulfilling the limit of the second level of Godskull.

Lady Thunderwraith couldn’t help but feel excited.

It must be known that most Divine Exalt cultivation methods follow a simple rule: attain prowess through worshipers, with a specified limit of obtainable prowess based on their cultivation stage.

Using Godskull, one can gather faith. Of course, gathering faith is possible without a Godskull, but it is like trying to fetch water without a container. It would all spill from one’s hands.

Hence, when a trillion mortals worship a Divine Exalt, all that faith energy gets absorbed into the Godskull and transformed into one level of battle prowess.

For a first-level Godskull, that was the limit for mortals. However, a second-level Godskull can accommodate faith energy from a quadrillion mortals and turn that faith energy into a prowess that’s two levels higher.

In the same way, for every cultivation realm, Immortal, Empyrean, and Exalt, the Godskull would turn the faith energy into prowess as long as they could gather enough worshipers. If the Godskull were improved to level two, then it could accommodate more worshipers and grant more prowess.

Lady Thunderwraith might be hard-pressed to fulfill the mortal quota in the True Immortal World, but for the other three cultivation realms, she had already secured a prowess of six levels higher from the Immortal, Empyrean, and Exalt worshipers on top of her own prowess that was already as high as a supreme genius!

The moment she reached the Divine Exalt Stage, she could easily reach Level Nine and beyond, nearing the layer limit in terms of prowess.

This would allow her to easily defeat Alpha Exalts, and even match Omega Exalts, although she wasn’t sure about the latter.

It was hard to hide her excitement, causing Davis to laugh at her.

"I didn’t presume a cold wraith like you to have so many vivid emotions. Have you considered recreating your body?"

Lady Thunderwraith broke from her reverie, her white eyes flickering.

She was clad in black and white robes. She wore a purple veiled hat that covered her face, and her figure was nearly transparent, as if she were a soul body. It flashed with an otherworldly green-purple light, ever so lightly, as though her excitement had reached a peak.

"Yes, I have reconsidered. I will create a fleshly body. Should Your Majesty require it, then I have no choice."

She gazed at him with eyes filled with admiration.

With a single word, he had allowed her to be equal to the giants of the Davis Family.

"Having a body is good and worth living for, even with all the weakness that comes with it." Davis responded nonchalantly as though he hadn’t noticed, "Then I heard you might be going to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm because you’re the Legion Commander of the Shadow Wraith Legion. Is that true?"

"Yes, Legion Master Zenova requires me to head to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm soon and establish ourselves to support Young Master Azariel. My quick advancement to Divine Exalt Stage is also for this endeavor."

"Are you sure you want to head there? Divine Exalts are hunted. The cultivation method is banned. Furthermore, I’m not sure how ghosts are perceived. They might also be targets for instant eradication."

"Doesn’t matter." Lady Thunderwraith answered coolly, "I’ll be sent later. I’d be working separately from Young Master Azariel and support the Davis Family from the shadows. I’ll be hidden. Even if the Celestial Transcendent found me, it’s never easy to kill a Ghost Cultivator. Even if my body is restored, I’m still a Ghost Cultivator, a rare one at that who uses lightning. I survived the Blood Realm Calamity, survived an Archon, survived you. At the very least, I’m confident in my ability to flee."

She said with a smirk, causing Davis to blink.

He knew Lady Thunderwraith was daring, but he just hoped she wouldn’t lose her cool upon meeting the Celestial Transcendent.

In his opinion, that old handsome guy was quite the despairing opponent, especially now, when his avatars might be everywhere.

However, Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder was able to escape the Celestial Transcendent multiple times, so he held faith in Lady Thunderwraith too. Both of them were Ghost Cultivators. They couldn’t be underestimated. One needed to kill them with one strike or seal them, or it was just like dealing with a mini version of him, extremely difficult to kill.

Nonetheless, Davis felt overjoyed at the prospect of having another Peak Exalt helping Azariel.

Just what could go wrong? Right...?

Davis patted Lady Thunderwraith’s shoulder, "Then I’ll depend on you to protect my son from the shadows and further our shadow’s grasp in that realm."

"Yes, my Emperor~"

Lady Thunderwraith bowed.

Davis was satisfied.

He advised her to then contact Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder if she had the chance. He also warned her that the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy might be behind some kind of conspiracy since she came from there, noting a strange black karmic thread on her, a karmic thread of negative emotions. However, it was his first time seeing a black karmic thread of fate instead of the usual red one.
