Chapter 2027: 24.288 Sixth Violet Star - Asking for a Leave

After putting his mate to rest, Beast God Mo Minkong chose to handle the affairs of the borderland. As the people outside the office were summoned inside the room, Mo Minkong was the one who came to meet them. The ones who entered the room were mostly new soldiers who had gained enough merits and plans to go home to check on their families. They had survived many beast waves with their two commanders, Lord Huzi and Beast God Lord Mo Minkong and as promised they were given merits which can be exchanged with almost everything including the chance to go back home.

Sadly, these people didn’t know that the alliance city was no more and that the home they had been wanting to return to no longer existed. The alliance between the four races was broken with two races almost extinct. The human race become disposable pawns of the Marshal and his minions still creating chaos everywhere in the city.

"You may come in," said Lord Mo Minkong while seated in his office doing some paperworks.

Some soldiers from all four races had come to the office requesting to meet their commanders. They have been waiting for a long time and have come back to this place multiple times. Only when Zhi Yue, who wanted to look around the place, comes out of the office and bumps into them that they realize that there are really people inside the commander’s office.

When Zhi Yang explained that they were at a meeting , they understood why no one was answering when they came to the office to seek an audience. It seems that the ones inside had completely isolated the office and this prevents them from hearing what is happening in the office. Zhi Yue even said that it was such an important meeting and that they were only able to concentrate by blocking the whole room.

The soldiers had believed the words of Zhi Yang and Zhi Yue. That’s why they asked the two if they could see the commander before coming inside. With the permission to enter they finally see the commander.

Beast God Lord Mo Minkong said, "Can I ask why you wish to see me?"

The group looks at one another and finally pushes out a representative to speak for the group.

"Commander Mo, we would like to ask if we can use the merits we have gained to ask for a few days of leave. We wanted to return to the city and check on our parents."

"Do you think it’s possible to take a break?" The Beast God, Lord Mo Minkong said. "The war has only entered the stalemate but this is no means that the war is over."

"There is also a fact that there aren’t any soldiers who have arrived so you can be replaced. For now, returning back to the city is currently impossible." Their commander said.

The soldiers felt a bit sad thinking that they weren’t able to go home for now. However, they had also understood the situation. Right now, unless the beast race completely retreats, it’s unknown when the war will be considered over. After bidding a farewell with their commander, they went out of the office to tell the rest of their group. The four of them were only representatives of the other larger group and now that they got their answers they can only tell the others. Though the result seems to be bad news as they wouldn’t be able to come home for now.

As soon as the others had left the office, the cold and stern face of Beast God Mo Minkong had faded. Instead, he looks like he is frustrated. They actually don’t have a way to tell these soldiers about the situation in the alliance city without causing chaos at the borders.

Zhi Yang spoke up, "Aren’t you going to inform them about the real situation in the alliance city? If it’s right now you can cause chaos at the borders while the Beast race is preoccupied by something."

"That’s right. I sense that most of the beast in the outer region of the Barren Lands has decreased a lot compared to before," said Zhi Yue.

Zhi Yang said, "Chaos is unavoidable. But it would be more dangerous for them if they couldn’t understand the real situation. Some would definitely sneak to return to the city and this is something we cannot avoid. However, they have the right to know what happened to their home and family."

Beast God Lord Mo Minkong let out a helpless sigh and pinched the space between his eyes, seemingly looking fatigue.

"Alright when Hu’er has woken up, I will ask him what he thinks." Lord Mo Minkong said, "Can I ask you to check what is happening at the Barren Lands? If it’s too dangerous there is no need for you to do it."

"It’s alright. We just need to avoid getting too close to the Evil Beast God. Checking the outer region should be safe," said Zhi Yue.

The Moon God, Zhi Yue, disappeared on his own as for Zhi Yang he chose to remain and protect the Beast God and his mate, Lord Huzi.

This left Lord Mo Minkong a bit stunned. He expected that Zhi Yang would leave with Zhi Yue to investigate.

The Beast God asked, "Is it alright for him to investigate alone?"

"Yes. If Yue’er brings me with him, we have to open a space portal to move in places. But if he is alone, he can teleport on his own. He should be able to escape faster when he is just one person," answered Zhi Yang.

Zhi Yang was actually not worried for Zhi Yue. He is someone who had inherited the abilities of the God of Destruction. Though he cannot be compared to Lord Hei’s ability to use teleportation, Zhi Yue is more comfortable teleporting when he is alone. Moreover, compared to the one hidden in the alliance city, the danger the Evil Beast God possessed is nothing.

After the avatars of the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness had faded from the divine realm, the two of them who had temporarily left their bodies had woken up. Hei Anjing continues to look for the traces of the cosmos invader in this world. But like before unless its real body made a move it is almost impossible to find its trace.

Ye Xiajie asked, "Still cannot find their traces? Do you want me to do it for you, Jing’er?"

He hugs the God of Destruction within his arms cuddling with him as always. Hei Anjing turns his head and meets the black and crimson eyes of his beloved who is no longer hiding the fact of his real identity. That’s right, the current Sovereign God of Void and Darkness who can control the hell flames is none other than the reincarnation of both the Dark Lord and the Hell Flames Lord.

After the two had died on that day, the wisps of their souls had found their origin in the Cosmos under the protection of the Destruction Lord, Hei Anjing. That first one to be reborn was the Hell Flames Lord, he had become Ye Jieye, the God of Void and brother of Shen Siwang. After his death, Ye Xiajie was born and the core of this soul is the Dark Lord. Even so because his soul is stable he was also killed. Because the two wisps of soul refused to merge, the Chaos had called back the God of Destruction, Hei Anjing. That was the beginning of their fate.

In the process, the Hell Flames Lord and the Dark Lord finally merge and a new Ye Xiajie is born. This time his soul is stable, it is just that both had retained their past lives memories. Even though the two of them don’t like one another, the fact the person they both love finally fell for them made them compromise and pretend to be one person. The more they fell in love with the God of Destruction, the more they couldn’t control their feelings.

They wanted to stay by the God of Destruction’s side, but the more they wanted more, the more they were afraid of being exposed. So they choose to seal their original memories and live only as Ye Xiajie and this leads to the suffering of Hei Anjing, who had died multiple times in the lower realm world due to their indecisiveness.

It was only when they almost lost him, that they completely accepted one another. The two choose to accept each other’s existence and Hei Anjing no longer pretends that he recognizes them as just one person.

Hei Anjing leans his body to his beloved and let himself fall within that warm embrace and said, "If you trace that person you might be able to find him, but at the same time he will know you are still alive. When that happens he will no longer keep the ceasefire between the two cosmos and I have to return to the Cosmos battlefield."
