Chapter 2064: 24.325 Sixth Violet Star - Previous Self

The night before the group sparring training...

Haerin who was sleeping on her own bed was suffering from some kind of nightmare making her unable to sleep properly. She can see her young self staring at her parents dead body. When the Long Clan took her over and how she had been fighting against the beast race together with Long Juedi and everyone and finally dreamt of her death.

When Haerin woke up, she was covered in cold sweat looking around the area with vigilant eyes. It took her a bit of time to calm down and realized that she is now in a dormitory with the rest of their team and that she is sleeping in the same room with her friend and sworn sister, Xue Laira.

She then mumbles with despair, "It is not a dream. I am back in the borders."

After the group sparring, both the young and young soldiers were now on the ground lying down. Some were drinking water as if they had been left behind in a desert for a few days without water, the others were covered in sweat with their legs and arms wide open enjoying the coldness of the cold ground. Xue Laira was the first to notice something had changed in Xue Laira but she couldn’t explain what changed to the young girl.

Her thoughts while looking at Haerin, ’Something in Haerin changed but I can’t point out what it is. Is it her aura? Her actions? What is going on?’

Everyone agreed with the words of Haerin and slowly stood up from the ground. Those that needed healing Haerin healed them one by one. Then they resumed what they were told to do before and startled sparring as a group. Long Juedi didn’t return to the training hall the whole day and only another soldier had come over to inform the group to take their rest for the rest of the day.

On their way out, Xue Laira invited Haerin to check the walls with her but declined.

Haerin said, "Laira, my face also cannot be exposed as those bastards knew how she looked. You guys should also avoid doing so. I still wanted to continue training for a bit."

Everyone didn’t react much, only Xue Laira stared at Haerin as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Only after only the two girls had remained did Xue Laira and confronted Haerin before her.

Haerin looked confusedly at Xue Laira, this Spirit Realm’s Princess and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you not resting, Jiejie?"

"You called me Laira before and now you call me Jiejie. You are Haerin yet not the Haerin I know at the same time. Who the hell are you?" Xue Laira asked as she was already on guard towards Haerin.

At first, Haerin wanted to pretend to be the innocent little girl that everyone knows, but last night she started dreaming of things that involved her yet something she couldn’t remember at all. Her hate towards Pei Jin and the beast race is real. At the same time, his pure feeling of love towards Long Juedi is now being changed into something else, yet not at the same time. After all, she remembers that she didn’t lose her parents and at the same time they had lived happily in the ancient forest. She is very confused as two versions of her and her memories were being filtered in her head making her a bit confused.

That’s right, the previous life’s Haerin’s memories is slowly returning to her. The former, who had lost her family, hated the Long clan and died protecting the man she loves the most, which is Long Juedi. But now her current memories are telling her that she didn’t lose her family and even reunited with her uncle’s family. She had gained two uncles, her parents didn’t die and also got two elder brothers who never existed in the previous timeline. The beastmen race didn’t even get exterminated early like in her previous life. But the war against the beast race at the borders still happened. Their friends had also come with them and new faces had also joined in.

Haerin lost the innocent gaze she used to have most of the time and looked at Xue Laira with a serious gaze yet she had a helpless smile at her lips.

"You’ve noticed, Jiejie. As expected of you! I am Haerin, the current timeline’s Haerin and also the previous life’s Haerin. I just woke up last night and recalled my previous life’s memories."

Despite the smile on Haerin’s face, tears unknowingly fell from her eyes and it seemed out of control.

"Eh? Why am I crying?" Haerin asked as she wiped the tear falling only on one side of her face.

Xue Laira was stunned when she heard what Haerin had said, especially about the previous life which she couldn’t understand at all. Only when she saw Haerin’s tears did she recall what the Lord Prophet said about the original future where Haerin lost her parents taken away by the Long Clan and died for the sake of her man. This is the original future, but what if this is the previous life’s future and something the world originally has as an ending. Something that only changed because of the existence of the two mysterious princes of the beastmen race. The Lord Prophet said all changes had begun with them.

Upon seeing the young lady whom she treats as her younger sister crying like she was a lost soul, Xue Laira couldn’t help but hug the young lady lady and started comforting her.

"Do not be afraid. Your past has changed and your parents are still alive. Those memories you have right now will no longer happen. We can prevent it from happening. You won’t die and we will all go home when the mission is over."

These words were spoken in a soft whisper but were enough to calm the soul of Haerin, who was in a state of confusion due to having two kinds of memories in her mind. She wanted to train to exhaustion so she would not overthink things and make the worst kind of decisions. Haerin was so afraid as those memories that suddenly appeared in her felt so real as if she had truly experienced them. She didn’t want to burden her current self, yet she is unable to let go. This led to her current state.

Haerin hugs back the warmth within her reach as if it was her only hope.

"Jiejie, are my parents truly alive?"

"They are alive."

"Gege is here too?"

"If you are talking about Long Juedi, yes he is here too."

"Why are we at the borders?"

"To complete our mission."

"Mission? To kill Pei Jin and his beast?"

"Yes. As long as we do that we can go home?"

"Go home?"

"Yes."

"Home. Yes, this time I have a home to return to... Please don’t tell her about me. This time... I want us to be happy."

"Alright. I promise you."

"Thank you, Jiejie."

Haerin finally lost consciousness and Xue Laira caught her in her embrace. It seems the remnant soul of the previous life’s Haerin had accepted the new timeline and left everything for the current Haerin to handle. She removed all the sad emotions and regrets in her life. She left behind all of her experiences in her previous life and let the current Haerin inherit it all.

Xue Laira didn’t tell Haerin everything that had happened between her and that person even when she woke up confused.

Haerin looked around confused, "Eh? Where is this place?"

"You overworked yourself during the training and lost consciousness. Thank god you woke up immediately or I would have carried you to the clinic," Xue Laira said.

However, since that day, Haerin’s fighting ability and survival instinct had been upgraded, surprising everyone in their group. Only Xue Laira understood the reason for this change.
