Chapter 3906: Extinguished

Chapter 3906: Extinguished

The brilliant, reflective ground turned crimson.

Xing Fan clutched her shoulder. She stared at Yue Bei’s corpse for a moment and then suddenly whipped around and roared, “Immortal matter! Lu Yin, you used Immortal matter? Despicable!”

On the Seventh Night Pillar, Lu Yin just sneered. “Fine, I’ll let you die knowing how.”

As his words fell, the consciousness that he had sent up to the Frightened Sparrow Terrace surged toward Xing Fan. She stood her ground and thrust her hands forward. This time, the attack was not empowered by any Immortal matter, and she was Xing Fan, a Lesser Sancte of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. How could she be defeated so easily?

Consciousness swept past her as Xing Fan stood in place. She swayed and then suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood as she nearly collapsed.

Her face grew deathly pale as Lu Yin’s voice rang in her ears.

Kneel, kneel, kneel...

She lost control of her body. Consciousness and manifested thought were both forcing her to her knees. Having lost herself, she had no thought of resistance. She genuinely wanted to kneel.

Her knees bent as Xing Fan slowly moved lower. As she dropped down, she felt a strange, sharp sensation rising up. A spiral of karma had been carried towards her by the surging consciousness.

Just as her knees were about to touch the ground, someone emerged from the void. They grabbed hold of Xing Fan’s arm and forcefully pulled her upright.

Xing Fan snapped to her senses and stared at her side in a daze. “Dan Jin?”

An ordinary looking woman was standing beside Xing Fan. There was nothing noteworthy about her appearance, and she simply looked like a friendly older sister from next door dressed in simple clothing. But even still, she had managed to grab Xing Fan and force her up. She was Lesser Sancte Dan Jin.

Dan Jin looked down and said, “Mr. Lu, that’s enough.”

Still standing on the Seventh Night Pillar, Lu Yin had not expected Greater Sancte Awe Gate to do nothing and for his actions to instead force Dan Jin to take action.

There were some who claimed that Dan Jin had become a Lesser Sancte due to her alchemical abilities and immense contributions to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Others said that her strength was simply unfathomable.

Lu Yin had just become certain that the latter was true. This woman was even more powerful than Xing Fan.

“Even if Xing Fan has offended you terribly, she should not kneel to you. Do you know what the consequences of her doing so would be?” Dan Jin’s voice fell upon the Seventh Night Pillar, stunning Gu Duanke and the others who heard her.

Kneel? Just what was happening at the Frightened Sparrow Terrace? Had Xing Fan, a Lesser Sancte, actually been forced to kneel? Just what had Lu Yin done?

Lu Yin remained calm after hearing Dan Jin’s words, but Xing Fan went mad.

Only then did she realize that she had almost kneeled, almost gotten on her knees before someone from that lowly megaverse. She had almost been forced to kneel. Outrageous! Outrageous!

Her eyes grew bloodshot, and she screamed, “Lu Yin, you are seeking death!”

She then shot away from the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, her hands stirring up wind and moving clouds. The color of the sky changed as the entire universe shook.

Lu Yin frowned, and his gaze moved downward. It was not just the Nine Odysseys Megaverse; at this moment, the Spirit Nidus had also started to tremble. Xing Fan was moving the Spirit Nidus by manipulating the spirit threads that covered that megaverse.

Once, Xing Fan and Yue Ya had worked together to try to fish Lu Yin out of the Spirit Nidus. Although Yue Ya was dead now, Xing Fan had reached the Heaven and Earth Changes realm in the Everchange Valley’s Heaven and Earth Aura. That, combined with her spirit threads, meant that she could still manipulate the Spirit Nidus’s spirit threads.

It felt as if there was some kind of monster breathing beneath the ground of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Countless people’s hearts trembled. They were simply unable to comprehend what was happening.

Dan Jin shouted, “Xing Fan, stop!”

Xing Fan could not hear anything at that moment. She was consumed by hatred. She hated how Lu Yin had overpowered her repeatedly. She hated that he dared to defy her. He was from one of the three lower megaverses, so why did he not obey a Lesser Sancte? How dare he resist! He shouldn’t resist.

When Lu Yin had met one of Xing Fan’s bodies on the skyswings, he had destroyed that body. Just a moment ago, he had killed Yue Bei right in front of her, and he had even tried to force her to kneel. Such humiliation drove her completely mad.

Xing Fan glared down at the Seventh Night Pillar. “I want you dead, Lu Yin! You’re done for!

“Spiritsilk World: Thousand Sails Celestial Mirror.”

As she spoke, mirrors appeared throughout the sky. Both above and below, countless people subconsciously looked at a specific mirror; they looked at a mirror that was them. They knew which mirror represented them, but why were they a mirror?

Gu Duanke’s expression turned grave. “The Thousand Sails Celestial Mirror uses a person’s cultivation as the surface and the light of the universe as illumination. Each person becomes a mirror, reflecting all of the gathered light into a single point, which forms the Celestial Mirror. This gathers the cultivation of countless individuals, incorporating it into the Spiritsilk World. This allows Xing Fan to completely surpass her own power level.”

Jing Lian and Wei Heng were badly startled by the explanation. Was this the strength of a Lesser Sancte?

Each Lesser Sancte was a peak Dukkhan. The two men were both disciples of a Greater Sancte, and they had met many Dukkhans and were frequently treated as such themselves. For this reason, neither of them had ever paid much heed to the Lesser Sancti. Only at this moment did they understand how wrong their impressions had been.

Lesser Sancti were on a completely different level from other peak Dukkhans.

At this moment, Xing Fan had demonstrated a level of strength that far surpassed what the two men had thought peak Dukkhans were capable of unleashing. Could even the masters of the top factions, each of whom had become a peak Dukkhan through their own efforts, also unleash this terrifying of an attack?

Gu Duanke’s eye twitched. While a Lesser Sancte was certainly a peak Dukkhan, not every peak Dukkhan could become a Lesser Sancte.

The more clearly that one understood the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, the less that they cared about Lesser Sancti. Everyone assumed that the Lesser Sancti were nothing more than peak Dukkhans, while only a few knew the truth: Lesser Sancti were peak Dukkhans on a completely different level.

They stood at the very pinnacle of their realm.

They were qualified to touch the Immortal realm.

Lu Yin looked up at the sky. The High Seraph, Yue Ya, and Xing Fan had all been among the strongest peak Dukkhans he had encountered. Compared to them, those like Venerable Lan Ye, Lei Gong, Ku Ji, and the Azuresword Sovereign were all a step behind even though they had also become peak Dukkhans through their own efforts. Only Gu Duanke might be capable of standing on a similar level.

What was a Lesser Sancte? They were chosen by the Immortal Greater Sancti, having distinguished themselves from other peak Dukkhans. They were capable of things that ordinary people could not even imagine.

Even so, it was not enough. Even the power that Xing Fan had just summoned would not be enough. Lu Yin knew it, and Xing Fan also knew it. Even if she had gone mad from rage, she had personally felt just how terrifying Lu Yin’s power was. He had the power to overwhelm her mind and force her to kneel. Not enough! It’s still not enough!

Xing Fan’s hair streamed about as she strode forward once more, the countless mirrors retreating behind her. “Ahead, a thousand sails; behind, the Celestial Mirror.”

Sunlight shone through Xing Fan, making her look like a blazing sun that illuminated the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse. The cultivators down below squinted as they peered upwards, unable to directly look at the woman.

Wind blew and clouds churned around Xing Fan’s body. She was using both the Nine Heavens Transformation and the Wayfinder Sutra.

The Thousand Sails Celestial Mirror underwent a second transformation. The sunlight blazed as it shone out. It looked as if the sky itself was being replaced. Finally, she pressed a hand downwards. “Die!”

Lu Yin looked up at the sky, facing the blinding, sunlit palm. “Now, things are finally getting a bit interesting.”

As he spoke, his hand also rose. He used Infinity in cooperation with Heaven’s Seal’s sequence particles, spreading both down his arm. Around his hand, an indistinct swirl of energy moved like a breeze that would scatter at a touch. However, it was this formless energy that Lu Yin wanted to test out. He felt like he had just undergone some sort of metamorphosis, and it was related to his Wielder - God battle force.

His breakthrough to the Origin realm had not caused his battle force to transform. However, the moment that he released his consciousness and attacked the Frightened Sparrow Terrace, that mental pressure had allowed his battle force to fully erupt and transform. It had been a metamorphosis in both mindset and power.

He had many ways to deal with Xing Fan, but at this moment, this was the one that he wanted to test out.

The blinding sunlight fell down to the earth from the heavens, and Lu Yin reached for it with one hand.

He caught the light, as countless eyes across the universe all watched on.

The light was dazzling, and it stung every eye that looked at it, but it only lasted for a single moment. After that, Lu Yin snuffed the light out. It vanished into his grasp.

It was just like pinching a flame to put it out. It was such a casual, effortless movement.

Everyone who saw it was stunned, and they failed to understand what had just happened.

The onlookers were not alone, as even Xing Fan herself could not fathom what had happened. She stared downwards in a daze, her eyes losing focus.

The sky and the earth below it both regained their true colors. The sky was a brilliant, beautiful blue. There was no blinding sunlight, no power shaking the universe. Everything was peaceful, as the commotion had been extinguished with one hand.

Lu Yin rose high into the sky, staring at Xing Fan with sharp eyes. “Down!”

That one shouted word caused an invisible force to slam Xing Fan down towards the ground. She was horrified, and only then did she realize that she was gripped by an indescribable fear. Her entire worldview had been overturned. She had lost. She had been utterly defeated by Lu Yin, and she did not even know how.

He’s an Immortal! He has to be an Immortal!

Xing Fan screamed, “Greater Sancte Awe Gate, save me—”

There had been many cries for help throughout the day, all because of Lu Yin’s attacks. The first five had already died, but a round pill appeared in front of Xing Fan, and it immediately burst. Terrifying pressure dropped towards the ground, falling straight for the Seventh Night Pillar.

Lu Yin did not move. Instead, Gu Duanke swung his sword upward, slashing through the falling pressure with one stroke. Again, the sky was cleared.

High above, Xing Fan let out a gasp. She was terribly disheveled, and fear still lingered in her eyes.

In front of her, Lesser Sancte Dan Jin peered down at the Seventh Night Pillar, meeting Lu Yin’s gaze.

He stared up at her with a calm expression.

Gu Duanke frowned: “Dan Jin, you go too far, using your alchemy against our Seventh Night Pillar!”

Dan Jin replied in a perfectly calm tone. “My alchemy is unable to harm the Seventh Night Pillar. On the other hand, you, Mr. Lu, have gone a bit too far.”

Lu Yin shrugged. “How have I gone too far?”

His last strike against Xing Fan had vented the last of his anger. He had already killed her five lackeys, and he had never actually intended to kill Xing Fan. After all, she was a Lesser Sancte.

Lu Yin had assumed that Greater Sancte Awe Gate would intervene, but she had never once revealed herself.

Dan Jin’s intervention had been to both save the Greater Sancte’s dignity, as well as offer Lu Yin a graceful exit.

If Lu Yin actually killed Xing Fan, his status in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse would be badly jeopardized, unless he managed to immediately follow up by breaking into the Immortal realm.

Truthfully, Lu Yin had already vented his rage after Xing Fan almost knelt down. After that, she had been the one to continue the exchange.

Dan Jin looked at Lu Yin. “Ever since you first entered the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, you’ve acted recklessly. You destroyed the Autumnspring Slip and the Cheng family and interfered in the Four Commands Sword Sect’s internal competition. You shattered the balance in the Skyveil City, and have disrupted the Nine Odysseys. You have already gone too far, but now you want to kill Xing Fan too? Do you intend to become the enemy of the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse?”

Lu Yin replied, “I’ve heard how Lesser Sancte Dan Jin is highly respected, and I used to believe that. However... it now appears that you’re no different from the Autumnspring Slip.”

Dan Jin shook her head. “The Autumnspring Slip delighted in killing and breaking people’s spirits. Are you saying that I’m doing the same?”

“What else?”

“During your Origin realm breakthrough, when you made your declaration, I heard in your words the struggle of a child tasked with supporting his homeland, who masked nervousness with arrogance and fear with threats. That was when I told the Greater Sancti that resetting the Tianyuan would be meaningless. Lu Yin alone is worth ten Tianyuans.”

Lu Yin’s expression changed, and he stared at Dan Jin in a daze.

The woman’s eyes never even twitched as she calmly met Lu Yin’s gaze. Her expression was both open and unyielding.
