Chapter 4253: Sight Realm

Chapter 4253: Sight Realm

After a pause, Chang Fu continued to explain, “Everyone said that Chang Bai died at Senior Chang Tu’s orders and that Chang Shi was merely the one who carried those orders out.

“The truth is that the entire matter had nothing to do with Senior Chang Tu. Why would he concern himself with Chang Bai? But Chang Qi doesn’t think so, and neither do Chang Bai’s followers. They insist that Chang Tu is responsible for Chang Bai’s death, and they have always wanted revenge.”

As the man spoke, his expression grew complicated. “They are seeking revenge against an Immortal, let alone the strongest Immortal in our Longevity Civilization. How could they possibly succeed? And yet, they still choose to try.”

“Could there be someone behind them?” Greater Sancte Awe Gate asked. It was a reasonable guess.

Without the support of an Immortal, who would dare to antagonize an Immortal?

Chang Fu gave a bitter smile. “Everyone claims that I’m the one behind them.”

Lu Yin remained silent, as did Awe Gate.

Such suspicions were not wrong, as no one other than Chang Fu seemed capable of creating trouble for Chang Tu.

Could it be Chang Tian? He was another one of Chang Tu’s true disciples.

Chang Fu sighed. "This matter has no connection to me whatsoever. It was Chang Bai’s own charisma that caused his disciples to be willing to offend Senior Chang Tu. They even went so far as to hide Chang Qi’s identity so he could meet Chang Yi and join the Slaughterheart Enclave to seek an opportunity for revenge. They could never hope to harm Senior Chang Tu at all, and I believe that they understand that. Still, if even the slightest opportunity appears, they will absolutely seize it.

“This is an especially opportune moment, as the laws of our civilization are involved.”

Lu Yin understood. The laws of a civilization outweighed everything else. The people believed that, as long as they could prove that Senior Chang Tu had allowed a foreigner to participate in the vine-climbing contest, they could prove that he had violated their civilization’s laws. They were attempting to use something small to wound someone great. Only in this manner could they do the greatest possible harm to Chang Tu.

“They’re placing all of their hopes on the laws of your civilization and your legendary ancestor.”

Chang Fu nodded. “That’s precisely what it is.”

Lu Yin was curious about something. “Chang Qi was Chang Bai’s son, so it’s understandable for him to be willing to offend Senior Chang Tu, but even his fellow disciples show the same willingness. It seems that Chang Bai was truly impressive.”

Chang Fu replied, “Chang Shi once said that Chang Bai was someone who repaid sincerity with sincerity. People like that are rare in the cultivation world.”

“So why did they still fight?”

“It was a grudge between the two of them, so we didn’t pry.”

Lu Yin looked down. “If Senior Chang Tu wished to, a single wave of his hand could end it all.”

Chang Fu looked at Lu Yin. “Is that how your civilization would treat those down there?”

Awe Gate calmly replied, “Such a thing would never occur within human civilization.”

Lu Yin smiled at Chang Fu. “We also believe in meeting sincerity with sincerity.”

Chang Fu fell silent.

“Do you not believe me, Senior?”

“No, I don’t.”

“Should a disaster befall our civilization, we will stand at the forefront of that destruction,” Lu Yin declared.

Chang Fu’s eyes flickered. He gave a small smile but said nothing more.

Immortals stood above the rest of their civilization, wielding all authority not only due to their strength, but also due to their responsibilities and the contributions that they had made to their civilization.

Immortals served as the sword and shield of a civilization. No matter what might occur internally, one would never destroy their own spear and shield, not unless the Immortal was truly beyond redemption.

Achievement came from sacrifice, and no one could gain results without giving up something.

The same was true for Lu Yin.

He enjoyed all the resources that their human civilization could provide, mobilize them freely, and determine the future course of humanity. However, that was all because, time and time again, he stood before the rest of his civilization, fighting on their behalf, risking his life and inspiring his people again and again. He was ready to be one of the first to die.

There was a fundamental difference between their human civilization and the Longevity Civilization. Humanity had faced too many civilizational wars in recent years, whereas the Longevity Civilization had likely enjoyed peace for too long, which had led to them suffering from internal instability.

If they faced a war against foreign civilizations, such things would absolutely not occur.

From another angle, the fact that such matters had appeared was in fact a kind of blessing.

The fact that Chang Qi and others dared to offend an Immortal was proof that their civilization truly lived in comfort and that their Immortals were not ruthless monsters. If either of those things were not true, such a thing could have never happened.

“I have let you both see something humiliating,” Chang Fu said.

Lu Yin smiled. “Your Longevity Civilization is quite impressive.”

Chang Fu shot an odd look at Lu Yin. The young human’s line of thought was unusual.

It took even longer than expected for Chang Tu to resolve matters, as he actually debated with the gathered crowd. Seeing this, Chang Fu sighed. “I will show you both away.”

“There’s no need for that. This seems to involve us.”

“This has nothing to do with you.”

Lu Yin pointed downward. “Now it does.”

Beneath the sky, Chang Qi glared at Chang Tu with bloodshot eyes full of hatred. “Senior, since you claim that he is not a foreigner and that odd the phenomenon originated from Divine Sight, then allow him to enter the Sight Realm. As long as he is allowed to enter, we will believe you.”

“Excatly. Please allow him to enter the Sight Realm,” the Ortuser agreed. He had also witnessed the winners receive Divine Sight, and he had been standing below Lu Yin. Thus, the man had seen the anomaly with his own eyes, though Chang Tu had expelled everyone almost as soon as the oddity started.

Chang Tu glared fiercely at them. “Chang Qi, your father’s death has nothing to do with me. Stop making a scene here! Do you think that Chang Shi doesn’t know that you joined the Slaughterheart Enclave?”

Chang Qi clenched his teeth. “Senior, we may not dare to offend you, but our civilization’s laws take priority. We can only ask you to prove your innocence, Senior.”

Chang Tu continued to argue.

Lu Yin found the entire matter curious. An Immortal who resonated with two cosmic laws was arguing with juniors. The domineering presence that Chang Tu initially revealed to Lu Yin was something only shown towards foreigners.

It was quite similar to the Seven-Treasure Anuras.

Old Fourth and Old Fifth were clearly affectionate in their interactions with their juniors, revealing not even the slightest hint of the arrogance inherent to Immortals. They behaved solely as elders.

After arguing for quite a while, Chang Tu’s expression shifted. It appeared that he had heard something.

“Has our ancestor awakened?” the Ortuser asked excitedly.

Chang Qi and those with him all knelt. “We beg Ancestor to awaken and to enforce the laws of our Longevity Civilization.”

“We beg Ancestor to awaken and enforce the laws...”

Chang Tu’s expression shifted repeatedly, but he soon looked over at Chang Qi. “Fine. You want him to enter the Sight Realm? So be it.”

Chang Qi trembled. The fact that Chang Tu dared to allow that person to enter the Sight Realm was proof that he was not a foreigner, but that was impossible. Chang Yi had already let something slip. That stranger had to be a foreigner. Thinking of this, Chang Qi raised his head to look up at Chang Tu. “That being is able to stand beside you, Senior, and they might very well be an Immortal. If an Immortal alters their appearance, we are completely unable to see the truth. How can we prove it is actually him entering the Sight Realm?”

Boom!

The universe shook as Chang Tu released his power. Pressure swept across the sky, causing everything to tremble.

At that moment, it was not only Chang Qi and the others who felt fear, as even Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate felt a tremor in their hearts. Chang Tu was truly infuriated.

“Brat, I have not held your actions against you, and yet you dare to press further? If I wished to use such tricks, it would be far easier to simply erase you all.”

Chang Qi’s face grew pale, and sweat streamed from his brow. He felt dizzy and weak beneath the overwhelming pressure.

The Ortuser coughed up blood. “We- we understand...”

Chang Tu gave a cold snort. “My Longevity Civilization has always been fair and just. Go now, watch from outside the Sight Realm.”

That Ortuser quickly helped Chang Qi up, and they led their people to the Sight Realm.

Above the Longevity Vine, Lu Yin muttered, “Strangely, the Longevity Civilization is actually fair and just.”

Chang Fu felt awkward.

“The Sight Realm... I think that I have heard of it before,” Awe Gate commented.

Chang Fu replied, “You lived in our Longevity Civilization for a time, so it’s not surprising that you heard of it. The Sight Realm is no secret, as anyone who has obtained Divine Sight is allowed to enter and absorb sight power. The more sight power that one absorbs, the stronger the Divine Sight that they can awaken, though they will only ever receive one chance.”

“This sight power strengthens Divine Sight, and it can be acquired?” Lu Yin was surprised.

Chang Fu did not want to explain any further. “Once you enter, you will understand.”

“Am I really allowed to enter?” Lu Yin was astonished.

Chang Fu could sense the contempt in Lu Yin’s eyes, and he quickly said, “Of course you can enter. Senior Chang Tu has already announced it, so perhaps Ancestor is helping you to enter.”

Lu Yin gave a helpless laugh, but he did not argue.

Awe Gate also revealed a cold smile.

Chang Fu felt helpless; the Longevity Civilization really had completely lost all face.

It was true that Chang Tu was allowing Lu Yin to enter the Sight Realm. Upon returning, he approached Lu Yin and Awe Gate. “Go, but do not cause trouble inside. Go wherever you wish and leave together with everyone else.”

“Old man, are you really letting Lu Yin enter? I underestimated you,” Awe Gate said mockingly.

Chang Tu grew furious. “You wretched girl! What nonsense are you spouting?”

Greater Sancte Awe Gate merely sneered.

“Can my Heaven’s Sight absorb sight power?” Lu Yin asked.

Chang Tu replied impatiently, “Do as you wish.”

He then led the two humans to a certain location within the Longevity Megaverse.

Lu Yin was surprised. Chang Tu had not denied the possibility, which suggested that Heaven’s Sight was indeed capable of absorbing sight power. Could it be true? He suddenly felt that there was something odd about the Longevity Civilization, though he could not say what.

The Sight Realm was also above the Longevity Vine. This region could not be observed from outside. All that could be seen were the vines that wrapped around the Sight Realm.

At this moment, many people had already gathered outside the Sight Realm. There were not only the 100 victors of the contest, but also Chang Qi and his group.

Chang Yi stared at Chang Qi, his eyes revealing disappointment and helplessness.

Chang Qi avoided Chang Yi’s gaze. Chang Qi had used the other man, but Chang Yi was Chang Shi’s son, which made him the son of Chang Qi’s father’s killer. Still, Chang Yi had treated Chang Qi well over the years.

Chang Qi did not know how to face the other man.

Chang Ling (长灵) and Chang Ling (长铃) were staring in surprise. Neither woman had expected such a shocking development.

Could the man who had stood beside Senior Chang Tu truly be a foreigner? They were unable to glean the slightest hint.

Chang Shi felt much better, having somewhat recovered. Looking back, the vine-climbing contest felt like a dream. It was a fact that he had managed to last for an impressively long time; could that be what his brothers had meant when they said that a man needed to be able to endure?

Lu Yin and the others arrived.

Everyone curiously observed him, but no one could sense anything from Lu Yin that suggested that he was a foreigner.

Chang Qi also stared at Lu Yin. He and Chang Yi had specifically chosen the vine that Lu Yin had been climbing, hoping for proof that he was an outsider. However, the man had proven to be too powerful, and he had given them no openings.

Lu Yin glanced at Chang Qi and smiled. He froze, unable to understand what Lu Yin could be smiling about.

Lu Yin was unconcerned with the Longevity Civilization’s internal strife. He only knew that, because of the commotion that Chang Qi had stirred up, it had become possible to enter the Sight Realm, which was an extremely important place for the Longevity Civilization.

Lu Yin had won an opportunity for free, so of course he was pleased.
