Chapter 4445: The Bluebright Realm

Chapter 4445: The Bluebright Realm

With the technological cosmic civilization crushed, what came next was simple: gather the resources that the Trio needed and place an upper limit on the civilization’s technological research. Just like how Obscura’s Keeper of Balance had placed a limit on their human civilization, the Trio could either destroy their enemies without mercy or decide those enemies’ lives and deaths at will.

The reason why they had left this cosmic civilization intact was to have them continue harvesting the resources that the Trio needed.

It was not long before Lu Yin appeared. He peered down at the shattered land with a calm expression. When Garan Zhiluo saw that Lu Yin had arrived, she slowly bowed. "Lord Lu."

Mu Xie, Lu Sizhan, and the others all bowed as well. While they were internally Lu Yin's seniors and senior disciple, publicly, everyone had to bow to him unless they were an Immortal. That was the rule.

Lu Yin nodded and examined the land below. "Is this the civilization that was just discovered?"

Garan Zhiluo nodded. "While Lu Yuan and the others are mapping the Aevum Inch, they periodically discover civilizations and investigate them. This civilization has resources that we need, as they can be used to produce large numbers of black energy converters."

Lu Yin's eyes lit up. "Materials for black energy converters?"

"Correct." Garan Zhiluo raised a hand, and a piece of metal floated above her palm. "The production of black energy converters has never been able to satisfy the demand. Not even the combined resources of the Spirit Nidus and the Nine Odysseys Megaverse can match that of our Tianyuan, but this newly discovered megaverse contains large quantities of the metal that we need. As long as it is mined and put to use, our number of black energy converters can increase tenfold in a short time."

Lu Yin was moved. Tenfold? That was truly an exciting number.

Although black energy converters did not bestow the actual combat power of Progenitors, they did contain the destructive power of Progenitors. They could only make simple attacks, but with enough numbers, they could become absolutely terrifying.

In the past, the Transcendent Universe had barely managed to produce just over ten black energy converters, but that had been enough to secure its place as a member of the Sixverse Association. Later, after the Heavens Sect unified the Tianyuan and used the resources of the entire megaverse to manufacture more black energy converters, they had reached their limit at a little more than 100. That meant essentially having more than 100 elites who were capable of unleashing the destructive power of Progenitors.

That had been enough for the Tianyuan of the past, but for the Human Trio, which could enter a civilizational war against other cosmic civilizations in the Aevum Inch at any time, it was far from enough.

In Obscura’s wars that he had been drafted into, Lu Yin had personally seen that Immortals were top-tier combat power while Progenitors were merely entry-level combatants. Above them were sequence powerhouses, Ortusers, Dukkhans, and Aberrants. The number of experts at those levels were difficult to scale up, but Progenitors were different; they could be mass-produced.

The Progenitor realm stood between ordinary cultivators and top-tier combat power. As long as there were sufficient numbers, even mere Progenitors could affect the course of a civilizational war.

Just imagine a scene where the Trio dispatched tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of Progenitors into a war all at once. Black energy converters could vastly accelerate that process.

Compared to that, a war against this civilization no longer meant much of anything. A person could be good or evil, but a civilization could not be defined in the same way. There was only survival or destruction, only interests.

Their human civilization represented Lu Yin, but Lu Yin could not represent his human civilization. Everything revolved around strengthening humanity.

By this time, the star chart that Ancestor Lu Yuan and the others were making already covered a distance of 300 years’ travel from the Trio. It was an enormous range, and it effectively meant that the Trio bordered Crimson Starshade, as even that megaverse had been incorporated into the Trio's star chart.

The only direction that was not being examined for the time being was the direction in which the Divine Realm lay.

Within a distance of 300 years’ travel, multiple megaverses had been discovered, though there were not that many. More would be discovered in the future.

Time continued to pass, and another hundred years went by. The farther that humanity’s star chart progressed, the larger the region being mapped grew. Even a small increase in their search radius meant an enormous expansion of territory relative to their entire star chart.

During this time, Ancestor Lu Yuan and the others discovered the Bluebright Realm.

There was no need for them to report to Lu Yin; war began at once.

The Bluebright Realm had been Lan Meng’s civilization. It was filled with withered tree-like creatures that looked like Lan Meng, and the creatures filled the entire megaverse, each wrapped in a blue halo.

A streak of light shot into the Bluebright Realm. The Thousand Sails Celestial Mirror entered: Ahead, a thousand sails. Behind, the Celestial Mirror.

Xing Fan charged forward.

By relying on the Nirvana Tree Path, she had reached the pinnacle of power beneath the Immortal realm. She had once been Lu Yin's enemy, but she had since become the spearhead for humanity’s civilizational wars.

Following close behind her were countless cultivators from the Trio. Countless attacks riddled the previously tranquil Bluebright Realm with holes, and innumerable tree-like creatures died miserably.

Lan Meng had been an enemy of human civilization and had always wanted to eliminate it. Although that creature was dead and that enmity had vanished, the Bluebright Realm still had to be eradicated. If not, no one knew if another Lan Meng might arise.

An Immortal, even the most ordinary one, could still harm their human civilization.

Also, because of Lan Meng's death, the Bluebright Realm was no longer under Obscura’s protection. The start of this war doomed the Bluebright Realm.

Countless withered branches pierced through outer space. Cultivator after cultivator fought while being encircled by withered branches.

Countless black beams pierced those branches, originating from black energy converters.

The fighting styles of cultivators from the Tianyuan and the Nine Odysseys Megaverse were different, to the point where a distinction was obvious at a mere glance.

Enormous withered branches shot straight into the sky, meeting wave after wave of attacks. In particular, Xing Fan's beams simply blasted the branches apart.

The withered branches suddenly contracted, transforming into a creature that looked very similar to Lan Meng. Its eight eyes kept darting about as it let out an enraged roar, "Humans! You are from a human civilization! How did you find this place?"

As it spoke, the creature’s withered branches twisted together, forming an endlessly extending sword that sliced the universe apart.

Zhan Ming hurriedly dodged while bringing down his own sword: Heart Shatter Blade.

As the master of the Spirit Nidus’s Gate of Laws and someone who had once been one of the Seven Seraphs, the man was a Dukkhan. However, when participating in a civilizational war, his power seemed completely insignificant.

The monster he was facing undoubtedly possessed the pinnacle of strength beneath the Immortal realm. Zhan Ming’s Heart Shatter Blade was completely useless.

Of everyone in the entire Spirit Nidus, aside from the former High Seraph, no one else was capable of facing this creature.

Xing Fan moved through outer space while undergoing the Nine Heavens Transformation. Beams descended from her Thousand Sails Celestial Mirror to shine upon the withered branches.

The creature wailed, and one tree-like creature after another rushed forward. Quite a number of them had surpassed the Progenitor realm, and many were even Dukkhans.

After all, their civilization had produced Immortals before, and it had even done so continuously. They had fought in the war that destroyed the Nine Ramparts, and they would not be easy to deal with.

Lu Feiyang appeared in outer space. Behind him gathered one person after another, and they met the charging tree creatures with slaughter.

More than half of the Trio’s experts above the Origin realm had come for this war. One after another, they used the Nirvana Tree Path to dramatically boost their combat power, and they quickly suppressed the creatures of the Bluebright Realm.

All of the humans were wearing armor made of color-glass, which the tree-like creatures found difficult to break. The balance of the war tilted in an instant.

In one corner of the Bluebright Realm, dozens of cultivators joined forces to tear a tree-like creature apart before descending.

"Senior Brother, thank you! If it weren’t for you, I would have died for sure. That monster was too powerful."

"There’s no need to be polite. You weren’t around when Lord Lu taught us the Nirvana Tree Path. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have needed me to save you.

"Everyone, watch your surroundings."

"More monsters are coming out. Kill!"

Suddenly, the ground twisted, and a gigantic withered branch shot straight into the sky. This single branch was no weaker than the tree-like creature that was facing Xing Fan, and it also possessed the combat power of a peak Dukkhan.

The present cultivators were all horrified. They had not expected to encounter such a terrifying creature in this place.

At that moment, a red umbrella shot into outer space and then opened. An Umbrella Dominion appeared as Chu Songyun entered the fray.

The human cultivators were all thrilled. "It’s Chu Songyun! Lord Lu's disciple!"

"Shh! Don’t disturb Senior."

Chu Songyun's Umbrella Dominion enveloped the tree-like creature. No matter how it attacked, it could do nothing. Then, the man drew his red sword, and the blade entered the umbrella’s ribs. Sorrow Without Heart, Forged as a Sword.

The sword slashed with a sharp sound, and the tree-like creature was cut to pieces.

Chu Songyun dismissed his Umbrella Dominion and glanced at the nearby cultivators. He then turned and charged towards another part of the battlefield.

There were quite a few powerful creatures in this megaverse, although none of them were Immortals.

Only after Chu Songyun left did the cultivators finally relax again.

"There shouldn’t be any more enemies left, right?"

"I don’t know."

"How strange. How could an enemy of that level appear here?"

"I have a bad feeling about this place. Let’s check it out."

Boom!

Space shattered. The fighting spread everywhere, and shockwaves from powerful attacks filled the megaverse. One person after another fell. Casualties would not be small during this civilizational war, but this was a true civilizational war. Humanity could not possibly only encounter weak civilizations. A civilizational war against a stronger foe might break out at any moment.

There was a scream. A cultivator died for no apparent reason.

After that, more cultivators in the nearby area kept dying, one after another. The survivors beat a hasty retreat, as they could not see the enemy at all.

They tried again, and more people died horrible deaths. However, their enemy still could not be seen.

Terrified and alarmed, they reported the situation that they had encountered.

Soon, a blood-colored figure arrived. It was Xue Zhan, a genius of the Scion Spire.

The man was still somewhat famous, and he had already managed to become a sequence powerhouse. As one human powerhouse after another stepped into the Immortal realm, there was no longer any need for the Scion Spire. The geniuses who had once slept there were allowed to fully unleash their potential, and their impressive cultivation speed led them to continuously improve.

"So is this the strange place?" Xue Zhan asked in a low voice.

The gathered cultivators nodded. "A lot of people died here for no reason. Senior, be careful."

The strongest person present was only a Semi-Progenitor, so they naturally addressed Xue Zhan as senior.

He moved forward, one step at a time. Suddenly, his blade rose up and then sliced down. Blood-Congealing Peak: A towering mountain of blades rose up, creating a mountain of sharp blood aura, only for the entire thing to shatter in an instant. An indescribable chill shrouded the area, causing Xue Zhan's scalp to go numb. He retreated, step by step while holding his blade in front of him. There was a sharp crack, and the blade shattered. He was on the verge of death when, at the very last moment, a hand reached out and casually waved, causing the chill to completely dissipate.

Xue Zhan was shaken, fear lingering. He had nearly died. What was that thing?

He looked at the person standing before him, and his pupils shrank. He quickly bowed. "Greetings, Lord Lu."

The cultivators in the distance were initially stunned, but they soon all bowed as well. "Greetings, Lord Lu."

"Greetings, Lord Lu."

Lu Yin had indeed arrived. When war had been declared on the Bluebright Realm, Lu Yuan had specifically made sure to inform Lu Yin.

Such a civilizational war did not normally require notifying Lu Yin. Other civilizational wars had broken out in the last 100 years, but Lu Yin had not been informed about them.

It was only because the Bluebright Realm was rather special.

The moment Lu Yin arrived, he had sensed Xue Zhan’s dangerous situation, and he had teleported over to save the man’s life.

At the same time, Lu Yin had discovered something interesting. He gave a quiet order, "Go to another battlefield."

Xue Zhan and the other cultivators respectfully bowed and then charged towards other battlefields, filled with excitement.

They had never expected to actually encounter Lu Yin.
