Chapter 4453: Megaverses Form The Technique
But how could Lu Yin achieve what he had conceived? That universe-swallowing ambition filled his chest, yet it was ultimately nothing more than spirit. Without a stage upon which to wield it, he would remain nothing more than an ant.
A stage? There had to be a stage vast enough for that spirit to be unleashed, vast enough to swallow the heavens.
Lu Yin stood in silence as one day passed after another. No one disturbed him. He forgot his surroundings, forgot everything, and even forgot his wish to cultivate the Star Fist. He forgot the Starfist Manual. In his mind, there were only the megaverses that he had seen with his Mirrorlight Art and the positions of the megaverses on the star chart that Ancestor Lu Yuan and the others had drafted.
Lu Yin felt his body sinking. He fell into that star chart. The locations marking those megaverses were clearly right before him, and yet they felt unimaginably distant to him, so far away that they seemed forever out of reach.
He felt himself being drawn into some kind of vortex.
Suddenly, Lu Yin opened his eyes. No, this was wrong. He should not be the one being swallowed. What should be swallowed was the cosmos, the star chart, the Aevum Inch that filled his vision, and the various megaverses that he saw.
He lifted his head to look upward, spreading his arms out as though floating atop a vast ocean of stars. Slowly, he lifted both arms and stirred the universe. Ripples spread out, further and further without end. They shook the cosmos and even seemed to cause the distant megaverses to tremble.
At this moment, the Tianyuan swayed. Countless people started to panic, unable to understand what was happening.
Fortunately, Mister Mu immediately stepped in and had the Heavens Sect calm people, which prevented any riots from breaking out.
While people knew that Lu Yin was responsible for the commotion, they had no idea what he was doing. It felt as though, at this moment, the Tianyuan—no, the Trio as a whole—had become a small boat drifting upon the sea.
Lu Yin pushed his hand to the side, and the ripples spread out endlessly. He looked at them, like streaking meteors. It was such a familiar sight, reminiscent of the meteors that he had once seen while on Earth.
Those meteors kept traveling into the distance, ceaselessly moving toward the megaverses throughout the Aevum Inch, yet this was still not enough. The scale was entirely different. Lu Yin’s scale could not compare to the scale of entire megaverses. Even if he was capable of destroying a megaverse, he still could not stand equal to one. After all, he was still a living creature.
Since he, as a living creature, could not stand equal to a megaverse, then he would use a megaverse to stand equal to another megaverse.
Around him, waves of force surged from his body as he released Willforce and merged with the Tianyuan. A colossal outline of Lu Yin appeared around the megaverse. Many cultivators were already familiar with this sight; they had seen it when the Nest civilization had attacked.
The enormous silhouette seemed to hold the Tianyuan in its palm, becoming a vast giant that stood in the Aevum Inch.
By using Willforce to merge with the megaverse and essentially transform himself into a megaverse, Lu Yin once again regarded the distant megaverses as stars and the star chart as the manual, forming his own Starfist Manual with the Aevum Inch itself.
What he needed to illuminate were not stars, but rather those countless megaverses.
The Cosmic Art could not connect to megaverses, but Willforce could.
The fist intent spread across the star chart without limit and then shrank back down without limit. One star after another started to appear, each representing a megaverse, each perfectly corresponding to the star chart that Ancestor Lu Yuan and the others had drawn with the Trio at the center, extending outwards for a distance of 300 years.
Willforce served as the bond, and the star chart served as the manual, leading to a Star Fist that only Lu Yin could cultivate.
Progenitor Chen had used the Tianyuan as his manual, and he sought to light up countless stars. That was why he had called his path narrow: the Tianyuan Megaverse was limited. Even if he managed to illuminate every star within it, he would still be inside a cage.
But Lu Yin was different. However vast the Aevum Inch proved to be, that was how vast his Starfist Manual could become.
The first of his megaversal stars to light up was the Spirit Nidus. He was all too familiar with that megaverse. With one punch, the Spirit Nidus in the Starfist Manual went from dim to shining. The entire process felt quick to Lu Yin, but he did not know that it took a very long time. This was because he was lighting up not just the Spirit Nidus, but also the countless stars within that megaverse. In the end, those countless stars were symbolized by the Spirit Nidus itself lighting up.
It was both the megaverse becoming a star for the Starfist Manual and the megaverse’s countless stars being lit.
Next was the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.
Lu Yin threw another punch. This punch lasted for two years, taking much longer than it had taken to illuminate the Spirit Nidus. This was because the Nine Odysseys Megaverse was much larger and far more complex.
After that was the Consciousness Megaverse, but this one was illuminated much faster, taking a mere half month to light up.
After that came the Mindscape Megaverse.
Within the Trio’s range, more than one megaverse had been reset, but all of these megaverses were still incorporated into the Starfist Manual. They all needed to be lit up, one by one.
Lu Yin’s fist intent did not affect the Trio, but anyone who directly faced it would feel a terrifying fist force that surpassed even the Beidou Fist Intent.
The Beidou Fist Intent was the fist intent of the dead. It had lost its creator, but Lu Yin’s Star Fist was a living fist intent, endlessly boiling, expanding, crossing limitless distances, and surging in power without end.
Before anyone knew it, thirty years had passed. During those years, Lu Yin kept unleashing fist intents, lighting up the megaverses surrounding the Trio. One after another, the dark stars grew bright. When every megaverse within a certain distance of the Trio was lit, Lu Yin threw his final punch.
This punch crossed the Trio and struck the cosmos itself, shoving the void aside and shattering it inch by inch.
Mister Mu, Ancient God, Awe Gate, and the other Immortals were all shaken, and they all turned to peer into the distance. All of them felt the might of that single punch.
Ba Rong was utterly dumbfounded. This punch gave the fish the illusion that it would be beaten into dried fish. It knew very well that, if it were facing this punch, there was no way it could withstand its power. This attack was too terrifying.
What a monster.
Lu Yin was clearly not even an Immortal being, and yet he had still unleashed such a terrifying and violent punch.
In the Tianyuan, Progenitor Chen laughed aloud. He knew that Lu Yin had finally carved out his own path for cultivating the Star Fist. Turning the Star Fist into a supreme power was now only a matter of time.
Progenitor Chen was also certain that he would gain inspiration from Lu Yin’s success, broadening his own narrow Star Fist.
Atop the Mother Tree, Lu Yin pulled back his fist and stood there, calmly gazing out at the sky.
This punch was the strongest that he could currently throw. Its power might already approach what he was capable of with a tricolor divine energy transformation. This Star Fist was filled with limitless possibilities. He had not been wrong; this was the power of a megaverse, a fist of inheritance. However, just because it was an inheritance did not mean that it could not also be invincible.
The stronger a civilization became, the stronger Lu Yin himself would become. With the scale of the Aevum Inch within his chest, he was destined to stand peerless and invincible.
By lighting up megaverses one by one, even though it would take him a very, very long time, there would eventually come a day of invincibility. In theory, the Star Fist could truly reach the level of true invincibility.
He thought of the ancient powerhouse who had once destroyed a fishing civilization with one punch. Had that person also used the Aevum Inch as their Starfist Manual? How long had they cultivated it for? Lu Yin truly wanted to witness the might of that punch.
The Star Fist belonged to the Sixth Rampart, and in theory, it was an invincible technique. He then suddenly remembered what You Wu had once said, about how the Fifth Rampart had possessed an invincible art called Heartbond Nonduality. If that was true, then had all of the Ramparts possessed similar battle techniques that were considered invincible?
If they were considered invincible, then those battle techniques should be capable of theoretically reaching the level of invincibility.
While the Star Fist had achieved that level in theory, the others had not. Otherwise, the Nine Ramparts would have never fallen.
If someone could recreate the Nine Ramparts’ supreme invincible arts and pass them down, humanity might truly be able to roam the Aevum Inch without restraint.
He smiled at the dark, endless starry sky. He was overthinking things again. Not even the Nine Ramparts of the past had managed that, much less the current human civilization.
Human civilization was likely at its lowest point in history. The upper limit of their strength had been sealed off, and they were surrounded by enemies on all sides. It would be better to first secure a foothold.
Closing his eyes, Lu Yin quietly stood atop the Mother Tree, calming his heart until he was as steady as a mountain.
One day, several years later, Ancestor Lu Yuan suddenly arrived. “An Immortal from the Divine Realm is heading our way.”
Lu Yin opened his eyes. “Let’s have a look.”
Soon, both he and Ancestor Lu Yuan stood within the Aevum Inch, staring into the distance. More than twenty years’ travel for an ordinary Immortal away, a mass of light was rushing towards them at precisely that speed.
It was a light formed from points with lines between them. There were tiny motes of light continuously spinning to form what looked like a tangled ball of thread.
That was a lifeform from the Divine Realm. At first glance, the Divine Realm’s creatures all resembled the technological fishing civilization’s vessels, only far smaller.
While others might not know any details regarding these creatures, Lu Yin did. They were fundamentally different from the technological civilization’s ovoid lights.
“The Divine Realm has fifteen gods. This one should be a being that reached the Immortal realm through their absolute means, so its strength is nothing great,” Lu Yin commented.
Ancestor Lu Yuan nodded. “But it is heading our way, which is not right.”
Lu Yin thought for a moment. “I once guessed that the Divine Realm had never expanded in our direction before because of Obscura, but the fact that this thing is coming our way proves that I guessed wrong. If they were wary of Obscura, they should not be headed this way.”
“You mean...?”
“Ancestor, aside from us, who else can be found in this direction?”
Ancestor Lu Yuan blurted, “The Seven-Treasure Anuras?”
Lu Yin nodded. “The toads’ ancestral land moved, but only very slowly, and roughly in this direction. I didn’t think of that before because, when the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ homeland was destroyed, it was very far from here. But looking at things now, it’s possible that the Divine Realm once intended to move in this direction, only to happen upon the Seven-Treasure Anuras, which is why they stopped.
“And now, they are suddenly coming this way again because the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ homeland was destroyed. They were probably monitoring the toads all this time.”
Ancestor Lu Yuan frowned. “Then what of Obscura?”
Lu Yin replied, “The Divine Realm is definitely aware of Obscura, but it doesn’t truly understand Obscura. They are another civilization being used by someone from Obscura.
“Of course, all of this is just speculation, but this isn’t really the point. What matters now is to deal with this fellow. Judging by its course, its destination is most likely the Seven-Treasure Anuras’ homeland, not our megaverses.”
“But the Seven-Treasure Anuras weren’t far from us,” Ancestor Lu Yuan said. For Immortals, fifty years could pass in the snap of a finger, and it scarcely counted as time.
Lu Yin stared across the distance. To them, this pseudo-Immortal was weak, no stronger than the hexagonal monster that Lu Yin had first encountered. However, that was only in comparison to the Trio. When considering the fact that most civilizations had no Immortals at all, this thing was a disaster.
The reason why the Divine Realm had become a fishing civilization was because, through their absolute means, they had forcibly produced more than ten pseudo-Immortals. That was an outrageous number. Unless they encountered someone like Lu Yin, who could crush pseudo-Immortals with overwhelming strength, not even a civilization like Obscura would want to deal with them. The increase in one’s karmic chain would be no joke.
The Divine Realm essentially had a similar effect on others as the Mudwater Dominion. One was able to simply designate karma to impact enemies’ karmic chains, while the other accomplished the same through sheer numbers. Either way, both were disgusting opponents for any true Immortal to deal with.
Yet such means were not enough to deter an Aberrant like Lu Yin.
