Chapter 2664 - 2665: Sea Monsters

Hydros quickly evaded another stone, as she got angrier.
"Hey, quit it!"
She pointed her hand at one of them, throwing a giant spur of spiraling water and throwing it down into the water.
SPLASH!
The rest of the Fishman glared at the scene in disbelief, their big fish mouths wide open.
"Shrieeeekk!"
They angrily roared, rushing towards us together, resembling a swarm of angered fish carrying their own spears made of stone and bones.
"Are they seriously charging at us?!"
I realized they were roughly over twenty of them, and despite being so much weaker, they sure were braver.
"Enough with that."
With a wave of my hand, they stopped moving altogether.
Oh man, I've battled literal Outer Gods of immense reality-warping power and might.
These guys are nothing.
But at the same time, they're kind of funny, I've begun to see the world in many facets now.
The elevated, crazy things beyond the cosmos, and the more grounded world in here.
Usually I would slap them to death and move on but… I don't really believe that's the right thing anymore.
"Don't bother us, okay? Go back to the ocean for now."
I spoke to their very souls, their eyes widened, as they quickly walked back and ran to the sea without complaining.
Unlike beasts, they were intelligent enough I could convince them this way more easily.
"They left! Waow!" Triton said by my side, he had just gotten to me. "Grandma, what was that?!"
"Ah, that was simply an Order into their Souls," I explained to my grandson. "You should be able to do the same once you develop a bit further, you've inherited lots of grandma's powers as well!"
"Wooow… What about mama?" Triton wondered cutely, his adorable blue eye looked at me with curiosity.
"Of course! Your mama got just as much power as well," I nodded, looking at Amphitrite. "That's the power of our Lineage."
"…" Amphitrite was surprised by what she saw, remaining in silence while glancing at me. "Triton, come on. We've gathered enough seaweed, let's go."
She quickly grabbed Triton away from me as she flew back to the ship…
Is she afraid of her own powers? Was that the reason why she and her son had them so underdeveloped?
I can understand Jeremias and the islanders but…
She knows what she can do, what Triton can do too.
She simply desires not to use that power, even when we were attacked by those octopuses, she hesitated quite a bit.
My bloodline has become so powerful it is now something connected to my cosmic powers and the souls of my offspring.
By merely being my descendants they inherit immense cosmic power, they could become Cosmic Deities if they wished and worked for it.
But… I suppose Amphitrite simply doesn't want that, she's afraid of such power.
"Aw, sorry about that, Amphitrite… well, she doesn't like…" Hydros muttered. "How do I say it? Well, abusing of… her strength."
"Did something happen in the past that made her this way?" I wondered. "Or is it… because of my absence when she was growing up?"
"Umm, I mean it's nothing really serious, Kireina…" Hydros said, I guess she still didn't want to tell me everything.
"Really?" I wondered.
"Yeah, don't worry," she smiled. "And she might get upset if I tell you…"
"Ah, okay then," I sighed. "Anyway, this place's beautiful, I'm glad we came here…!"
The blue sky, the gentle cold, salty wind, the seawater constantly moving and glistening brightly beneath the sunlight, and more…
It was indeed an intoxicating feeling, this tropical paradise, this beautiful blue ocean, the blue sky, the white clouds, the sun… I wanted this forever with me.
This tropical paradise that makes me feel so much at ease, and also… somehow, that has helped me attain a much calmer mind.
I'm still a bit worried about Amphitrite but I can't really do much about it right now, so let's just move on I guess.
"Let's go back to the ship then."
"Yeah."
With Hydros, we moved back to Jeremias' ship, and with him, we slowly made our way back to Paradise Island. Perhaps next time we go out we'll visit a proper island, but this family likes to take it easy, so maybe that'll be for days or weeks later.
On the way there, well, uh…
SPLAAASH!
The ocean trembled, as two giant figures emerged, roaring ferociously against one another.
"GRYYYAARRRR!"
A giant manta ray-like monster, with the head of a serpent with several tentacles, blue and red in color, with sharp fangs and furious crimson eyes emerged.
"GRUOOOHHH!"
And it was fighting what seemed to be a massive black colored sea turtle, with giant flippers and an even larger, intimidating head with a sharper beak.
Both were powerful Divine Beasts, Peak Great God Realm…
RUMBLE!
CRASH!
BOOOM!
Their clash sent shockwaves everywhere, our ship was stopped completely as we stared at the scene in disbelief.
Well, I wasn't that shocked myself, but it was still quite a spectacle to see cool-looking monsters fighting once in a while.
"W-What is this?! how did these things appeared out of nowhere…?" Hydros complained.
"I suppose these oceans still got their danger…!" Jeremias said. "We better pull back and try another route to Paradise Island then!"
The ship started moving back slowly, as we saw both beasts clash, Triton's eye was fixed into the scene.
"Waaaoow!"
"Triton don't get closer ok?"
Amphitrite held him tightly or he would've gone flying to see the monsters from up close, thankfully.
"But why are they fighting though?" Jeremias wondered, looking at the monsters.
"Probably for territory," I explained. "Not just where to live, certain areas simply have more food than others, big ones like those need to eat a lot."
"I-I see…" muttered Jeremias, surprised that I knew so much about these things. "Ah! I think I can use my Divinity like this and find a new current… there!"
Jeremias wielded his Divinity in different ways, picking a current from the ocean and taking it with his ship, bringing us back to Paradise Island through a new and special route that we didn't take before.
