Death… And Me

Chapter 4440: Overwhelming

Chapter 4440: Overwhelming

The wolf was still a Godly Predator, though. The moment it realized that it had lost in terms of direct strength, its instincts immediately took control. Its Godly Energy circulated throughout its body, and it twisted itself sideways, narrowly avoiding the attack that would have destroyed its left eye.

However, avoiding the fatal blow didn’t mean it escaped unharmed.

The moment Rean’s swords cut through its fangs and injured its face, the Dark Element contained within the attack began spreading through its wounds, constantly corroding its body.

And that was when Celis made his move.

’Energy Draining Prison!’

The vines surrounded the battlefield rapidly, forming a dome around the Dreadfang Alpha Wolf. The moment the technique activated, countless vines wrapped around its body and began draining its Godly Energy.

The wolf immediately understood that it had made a mistake. This group was not prey. They were the predators.

Its intention of hunting the twins’ group disappeared completely. It turned around and attempted to escape toward the forest below, where it would have a much better environment to fight. Unlike the open skies, the forest would allow it to hide, maneuver, and use its natural advantages.

Unfortunately for it, Roan and Kentucky had already predicted that reaction.

"Where are you going, puppy?"

Roan and Kentucky moved at almost the same time.

’Red Death, Dragon Claws!’

’Yin Yang Sky Feather Blades!’

Their attacks came from both sides, perfectly timed to strike the moment the Dreadfang Alpha Wolf attempted to flee. It was as if Roan and Kentucky had already known exactly what the creature would do after clashing against Rean.

The wolf let out a furious howl.

*Awwwoooooo!*

Its Godly Energy erupted outward, and at the same time, its Godly Pressure exploded together with it.

The pressure in the surroundings instantly increased several times over. This was the creature’s greatest advantage and the reason why Godly Predators were so terrifying outside the influence of the Sacred Relic.

Even without possessing real intelligence, it understood one simple fact: Godly Pressure was poison to cultivators. It weakened their bodies, reduced their strength, and slowed their movements. Against ordinary cultivators, releasing its full pressure at the right moment could completely turn the tide of battle.

At the same time, Godly Energy gathered around its sides. The silver stripes covering its body hardened and sharpened, causing countless spikes to extend outward and form a protective coat.

The Dreadfang Alpha Wolf had already decided what it would do.

It would endure the Energy Draining Prison as well as Roan and Kentucky’s attacks, break through the vines, and escape.

Unfortunately for it, its calculations were based on something that was no longer true.

The Godly Pressure it relied on to weaken its enemies...

Was completely useless against the twins’ group.

The attacks from Roan and Kentucky continued forward without slowing down.

*Swish, swish, swish...*

*Puft, puft, puft, puft, puft...*

*Grahhhhh!*

The Dreadfang Alpha Wolf’s protective silver coat, which would have been enough to block attacks from most cultivators of the same level, was pierced apart. Roan’s and Kentucky’s attacks tore through the hardened spikes and continued deeper into its body.

The Dark Element contained within their attacks immediately began spreading through the injuries, corroding the wolf’s flesh and interfering with its Godly Energy circulation.

For the first time since the battle started, the Dreadfang Alpha Wolf understood that continuing forward would only lead to its death.

Its instincts screamed danger.

The creature forcefully twisted its body, using all the strength it still had left. Its jaws opened wide toward Kentucky while its back paws aimed toward Roan, attempting to force the two attackers away.

Even heavily injured, it was still a Godly Predator. A creature equivalent to a Middle Stage Zone God wasn’t something that could simply be ignored. If given the chance, it was still powerful enough to seriously injure or even kill cultivators who underestimated it.

However, Roan and Kentucky had no intention of exchanging blows with it.

The moment the wolf’s counterattack started, both of them immediately detached themselves, leaving its desperate attacks to hit nothing but empty air.

That was the opening the Dreadfang Alpha Wolf needed.

Without hesitation, it turned around and fled in another direction.

Unfortunately for it, the direction it chose led straight toward Lukay.

The Voltari Spirit had remained frozen in place ever since Rean first clashed with the Godly Predator. His mind was still struggling to process everything he had witnessed.

He had expected them to be easily defeated and have him enter the fray to save their lives before they also fled from the wolf.

Instead, the complete opposite had happened.

A group of Middle Stage Aura Gods had just overwhelmed a Godly Predator outside the Sacred Relic’s influence as if they were fighting a normal Godly Beast.

Then, a Godly Sense Message from Roan finally reached him. ’Try not to be dead weight, will you? We even prepared the terrain for you.’

Lukay finally snapped back to reality. The wolf fleeing in his direction, heavily injured... was also part of the plan!

Normally, he would never confront a Godly Predator head-on. The difference in power caused by Godly Pressure alone would make such a battle extremely dangerous, and even someone at his level would have to think carefully before engaging one. Even if he did engage, it would be only to buy time. Killing the predator was out of the question.

But this time was different.

The Dreadfang Alpha Wolf’s Godly Pressure wasn’t affecting him.

The creature was already heavily injured.

And most importantly...

It was coming straight at him.

If he ran away from a weakened Godly Predator after everything the twins’ group had already done, there was no way he could justify it.

’Fuck!’

Lukay’s Lightning Element began circulating rapidly around his core. The energy surrounding him intensified until his entire existence resembled a miniature Lightning Sun.

’Voltari Crack!’

*KABRUM!!!*

Lukay didn’t hold back.

The lightning attack exploded forward and struck the Dreadfang Alpha Wolf directly. The creature had no room to dodge because Roan and Kentucky had intentionally forced it into that path.

The lightning tore through its already damaged body, breaking apart its defenses and destroying its internal organs.

*Roooaaaarrrrr!!!*

The Dreadfang Alpha Wolf released one final roar as its golden eyes dimmed. Its body lost control, and the once terrifying Godly Predator finally fell from the skies.

It was dead.

For a moment, Lukay simply remained there, staring at the corpse below. His mind was having difficulty accepting what had just happened. They had truly defeated a Godly Predator outside the influence of the Sacred Relic.

And it hadn’t even been a difficult battle.

The Dreadfang Alpha Wolf never had a real chance from the beginning.

First, the twins’ group completely ignored the creature’s greatest advantage, the Godly Pressure. Then, they overwhelmed it with attacks that surpassed what Lukay expected from Aura Gods. Even when it attempted to escape, every movement it made was predicted and countered.

It was less like a battle and more like a hunt. Except the one being hunted had been the Godly Predator.

As Lukay continued processing everything, Rean flew toward him with a smile, but it looked more like a warning smile than anything else. "If you ask if there is something wrong with us, you’d better use your own airplane from now on."

Lukay’s core flickered slightly. Somehow... he was indeed going to ask that exact question...
