Death… And Me

Chapter 3713: Frife-Ni’s Feather

Chapter 3713: Frife-Ni’s Feather

"Sorry, but this is as far as I can tell," Reliance shook his head. "You never know who could be hearing this. Instead, are you sure you want to get involved in this? It would be better if you two hid somewhere and waited for the situation to settle down."𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Normally, I would say we don’t want anything to do with any of this shit," Roan spoke straight. "But after you said that those two Minokawas are going through this to go back to Lisan, we couldn’t really sit down. Just tell us already. Where can we find the two Minokawas? We will simply ask them directly."

Reliance sighed but relented in the end. "If you die because of this, don’t blame me. As the leaders of the Demon Beasts side, they can’t just appear anywhere. Their location is a secret, and even I can’t tell exactly where to find them. You would need to ask some of the Divinity Realm Demon Beasts, but I find it hard that they will tell you if you just ask."

"Don’t you have their Werdlem ID on your CD? Just call them or give us their number!" Kentucky asked.

Too bad it wasn’t that simple. "Are you crazy? The Ermmel Clan is still at the top, even if their position is being challenged. They have access to the Werdlem Network, which means they could pin down where Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek are located. That said, those two threw their CDs away a long time ago."

Roan narrowed his eyes, a certain memory resurfacing. This was something that had been bothering him ever since he heard about this war. "As far as I’m aware, the controlling power of a Universe can literally cut everyone from the Divine Energy, Elements, and Laws of the world. Why haven’t the Ermmel Clan cut all the Demon Beasts off?"

"No, actually, it is not only the Demon Beasts fighting for that position. Heavens, Underworld, Spirits, everyone seems to be in this fight, each for themselves. Shouldn’t the Ermmel Clan have cut everyone else except for the Humanoid Races? They would literally trash all the opposition if they did that."

Yet, Rean also recalled what they were talking about before. "Do you remember what we discussed when we heard about this war? That there are probably other ways to become the dominant power of a Universe? Reliance, is this the case? Something that the Werdlem Empire recognized and allowed to happen."

Reliance nodded. "That’s exactly the case. There is indeed a way to challenge for the position of dominate power of the Universe, becoming the representative of the Werdlem Empire. Well, at least this is the case in our Universe. I don’t know if it is the same for others."

Reliance continued. "To do that, each top power of the Universe, other than the Ermmel Clan and the humanoid races, obviously, has to issue a joint challenge once the Ermmel Clan’s Universe Owner reaches his expiration age."

"Expiration age...? For an Universe Owner?" Everyone got confused. How could a Universe Owner expire? They are in the Celestial Realm, so they basically have an endless lifespan. That is already the case for Space-Time Realm Experts, let alone them. "You mean, he is about to die?"

"I’m not very sure of the specifics," Reliance had his doubts as well. "What I know is that this is not very good for the Ermmel Clan, and that they could not refuse this challenge. That’s why this war is going on. That is also why they can’t use their normal rights to cut everyone out of the Energies, Elements, and Laws of the Universe. The Werdlem Empire won’t permit it. They can’t block anyone’s access to the Werdlem Network either."

Rean and Roan made a mental note to contact Rifindio straight away once they finish talking to Reliance. By using the system to mask their IDs again, they could use the Werdlem Network to call Rifindio directly. Let’s not forget, the Werdlem Network covers the entire Werdlem Empire. In any case, since Rifindio has just become a Universe Owner, he probably knows about this ’expire age’ thing.

"Don’t get me wrong, though," Reliance warned them. "They can still use a lot of tools we can’t. For example, use the Werdlem Network to pinpoint a certain expert’s CD and the chip ID they are using. That’s why Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek got rid of their CDs and are hard to contact by just anyone."

"Makes sense," Rean nodded. "However, I think we have a way to contact them. Or, to be more specific, to be led to them."

Rean then proceeded to explain about the Feather they got from the Golden Crow, Havira. Of course, he left out the more sensitive information.

Too bad Reliance didn’t know the Golden Crow. "I’ve never heard about this Havira. However, the feather is another story, and it makes things a lot easier. If I’m not wrong, the feather you got is actually from Frife-Ni or someone close to him. Sometimes, there is a need to contact Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek, after all. So, these Feathers are passed down, and you can use them to find him. Naturally, he knows how to contact Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek."

Reliance then opened his CD, taking a look at a bunch of maps of the Divine Realm. "Yes, that should work. The closest Divine Demon Beast race you can find is the Obsidian Dreadoxes. They are massive insectoid beasts with crystalline exoskeletons and mineral wings. You can find them on the continent of Drantiy in the Demon Beasts’ Territory to the west. If you present this Feather to them, they should bring you to Frife-Ni or someone related to him."

Rean looked at Kentucky. "Well, look at that, Kentucky. You are about to meet your long-lost brother."

"To be honest, that feels weird..." Kentucky didn’t look that excited, though.

"B-Brother?" Reliance asked back, surprised.

"Oh, right!" Rean remembered. "We haven’t told you yet. If Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek are the same Minokawas we are thinking about, then they are Kentucky’s parents."
