Chapter 3752: I Didn’t Know
Later that day, the twins’ group met Teru’s daughter, Tarie. Together with her, three other Devils followed, likely her own personal attendants, all female. Her cultivation was in the Elemental Space Realm Middle Stage, making her the strongest of that small group of four.
"Hello. My father told me about your situation, so I’m happy to hear you will make a full recovery. Getting lost in my father’s territory isn’t all that uncommon, actually. It’s just that you were truly unlucky to end up inside the Groman Abyss," Tarie explained.
Rean’s smile was bright as ever. "We are also grateful for his assistance. Anyway, are you okay guiding us to the capital?"
"No problem," Tarie didn’t mind, nor did her attendants. "We needed to go there tomorrow anyway. So, shall we depart?"
"Definitely!" Rean agreed, turning to Teru, who was just behind. "Once again, thank you for everything, senior Teru."
"You’re welcome." Teru was in a good mood. he then exchanged a few words with his daughter and returned to his mansion. The twins’ group departed right after that.
Taking flight, they started to make their way out of the mansion. Yet, Rean was curious about something, asking Tarie. "Aren’t you bringing anyone to keep you safe on the way? I mean, Roan, Kentucky, and I are all in the Space-Time Realm."
Tarie and her companions looked at Rean with funny expressions. "Why would it be dangerous? You don’t need to worry, your cultivation is more than high enough to stay safe in these parts if you know where to go. I would actually have you guys to protect us if some mindless Devil Beasts appear, and I’m quite strong myself. My friends here can defend themselves, too."
"That wasn’t exactly what I meant..." Rean scratched the back of his head. The ones she should be afraid of are Rean’s group, not outsiders.
Roan heard that, pondering this unusual situation. Could all the Devils in the Underworld be like this? If that’s the case, then how about the Divine Realm and the Heavens of this Universe? Would they be even more trusting?
"So, which direction is the capital?" Rean asked a few minutes later.
Tarie pointed northwest. "Around eight days flying in that direction."
"Eight days?" Rean shook his head in response. "I’m at the Space-Time Realm. Don’t worry, I can more or less measure the distance and open a Spatial Gate for us."
Rean then made a cutting motion with his hand... just for Tarie to rush over and try to stop him. "Stop! Don’t do that!"
Too bad, it was too late. The Spatial Gate appeared...
*Uwwwuuuuuuu!!!*
As soon as it did, many shadows started to jump out of the Spatial Gate, much to Rean, Roan, and Kentucky’s surprise. Those shadows immediately tried to enter their bodies, taking weird forms like they wanted to swallow the twins’ group.
"What the hell is this?!" Rean immediately summoned his Intent Swords, and so did Roan. They could feel it. Each of those shadows was strong, even though ethereal in form.
"Kentucky!" Roan shouted.
"On it!" As Rean and Roan began to cut all the shadows that came out of the Spatial Gate, Kentucky rushed behind it and concentrated his Spatial Powers. They had to close the Spatial Gate fast, and Kentucky was the best one for that job with his higher control over Spatial Powers.
Rean and Roan didn’t know what those shadows were, but their Intent Weapons passed right through them. It wasn’t that there wasn’t any damage, but that the shadows seemed capable of getting back together after being split by the twins’ attacks.
Neither Rean nor Roan panicked, though.
"Stay behind, Tarie," Rean warned.
Immediately, their Swords and Scythes began to emanate arcs of Bright Red Lightning. Roan could tell that those shadows were heavy in yin energy, and Rean’s Bright Red Lightning was definitely the best against them.
’Red Death, Dragon Claws!’
’Red Death, Dragon Claws!’
*Swish, swish, swish, swish...*
This time, it worked perfectly.
*Roarr!!!*
The shadow beings roared in pain as the arcs of pure yang Bright Red Lightning burnt them to nothing. Rean and Roan flashed right, left, and center, cutting them all down before too many escaped from that area.
Behind the Spatial Gate, Kentucky’s wings made a closing motion. Spatial and Time Powers gathered around his wings, transferring to the Spatial Gate.
*Ugh...*
Yet, something was trying to force the Spatial Gate to stay open, making Kentucky’s life quite difficulty. "You fucker! If the Great Kentucky says you have to close, YOU WILL CLOSE!"
Kentucky’s Celestial Bloodline was released, and his Sky Energy circulated. His power increased many times, and the Spatial Gate was forcefully shut. Even then, Kentucky had to use his power to mend the Space, as the shadows from behind the Fabric of Space kept trying to reopen it.
It wasn’t before a few seconds that the space was completely fixed, and the shadows from behind the Fabric of Space stopped trying to open it.
*Swish, swish, swish...*
Rean and Roan also destroyed the last few shadows, making the situation go back to normal. Looking around in midair, it was as if nothing had happened. There were no bodies from those shadows to talk about. Once destroyed, they truly completely disappeared.
Kentucky suppressed his Celestial Bloodline again, sighing in relief. "Holy shit! Just what was that? Even I had to take it serious just to close the Spatial Gate."
Rean and Roan looked back at Tarie and her attendants. "Friend Tarie, you and your friends are fine now."
Tarie and the others were shocked by what they just witnessed. For a moment, Tarie was ready to flee back to her father’s mansion to warn him about the opening of a Spatial Gate. Yet, to her disbelief, those Space-Time Realm Devils managed to kill the shadows and close the Spatial Gate.
However, her attendants quickly got angry. "Just what were you thinking? Lady Tarie could have been taken!"
"The Lord is definitely going to be angry."
"Unbelievable..."
Rean scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Still, it was quite awkward to see the Devils complaining, and yet not a single curse word came out of their mouths. "I’m sorry... I didn’t know."
