Death… And Me

Chapter 3841: Fividhe

Chapter 3841: Fividhe

"Uh?!" Rean was taken aback. "How? What happened to Kunprio?"

As mentioned before, the twins’ group kept itself isolated during the system upgrade. Hence, they were unaware of what happened during this time. So, Kiju and the others took their time to explain the events to the twins.

The Level Four Umbra, who seemed to go by the name of Fividhe, had become a Universe Owner. He was the one who killed Kunprio and used his Universe Root Egg to become D33s Owner. How did he manage to become that? Even the Werdlem Empire wasn’t sure. After all, the method to use the Universe Root Egg for that purpose wasn’t something released to the public.

When the Werdlem Empire’s experts arrived together with the fleets of the nearby Universes, they brought three Celestial Realm Experts with them. Those three were not Universe Owners, but normal ones.

Of course, the twins wondered if a Celestial Realm Expert would be able to enter the Universe without being its owner. Turns out that no, they couldn’t. Their objective was to give support from outside the Universe, just like it happened in the Lisan Universe. Back then, the Garisan Universe’s Celestial Realm Expert was able to attack others from outside, but he himself couldn’t enter it. It was the same case here. With those three, it shouldn’t be that much of an issue to destroy the most problematic Umbras and retake the Unviverse.

Yet, it was then that the Level Four Umbra, which no one knew existed until a while ago, appeared again. Even worse, he had become the Universe Owner. Using his status as Owner, he completely sealed off the Universe against attacks from Celestial Realm Experts.

Of course, that didn’t mean the Werdlem Empire was powerless. In the Empire’s conquest to capture all these Universes, the Empire had to defeat many Universe Owners, so they had their own methods. This battlefield the twins just found was part of the Empire’s Plan to take Fividhe down.

"Yet, Fividhe has something that other Universe Owners don’t. He has absolute control over all his subjects, which includes the lower-level Umbras. He can control them as he sees fit from anywhere in the Universe. That’s why things have been quite complicated."

"I see..." Rean nodded.

In fact, everyone in the twins’ group was hearing that, and they quite liked that outcome.

"Well, that’s good for the Umbras. At least they can try to establish themselves," Kentucky commented. "I just hope there are more Umbras like Xian."

"But will they be able to feed themselves?" Foliana wondered.

"That’s up to them," Tanxan joined. "We knew the Umbras would be affected, so it is too late to worry about it now. If anything, they seem to be doing quite good."

Celis agreed with Tanxan. "Indeed. A Level Four Umbra and one who managed to steal the Universe Owner Status from the Werdlem Empire. I actually feel like giving them a hand instead. It was the Werdlem Empire who let this Universe get to this state, after all."

Everyone nodded vigorously. They quite liked the Umbras’ revolution.

Of course, Rean didn’t let Kiju and his companions hear any of that conversation. "Thank you for all the information, little friend Kiju, and everyone else, too. Just one more question, what about the Great Void Shifters? You said the Umbra called Fividhe destroyed them?"

"Yes," Kiju confirmed and continued. "The empire managed to put another one back together by passing over the blueprints and gathering the Formations Masters of this Universe. However, the formation was once again destroyed before they could even activate it. All help will have to come from outside from now on."

Rean stopped for a moment. "Will we manage to take the Universe back. And if we do, can we restore the previous state of the Universe with free guinea pigs everywhere?"

Kiju and his group weren’t sure. "We don’t have that high a position in our fleet, so we don’t know what the plans of the Werdlem Empire are. But if they keep sending reinforcements, it is because they have a plan, right? Even if the Light of the Provider can’t be restored, this is still a Universe in the Werdlem Empire Bubble. The Empire can’t possibly allow a rogue Universe to do as it wishes without its control. My bet is that they might even destroy this Universe outright if they can’t get it back."

’I see...’ Roan’s voice suddenly echoed in Rean’s mind. ’That Umbra isn’t half bad. His plan is to have a negotiation with the Werdlem Empire, and this display is to show that he is worth considering.’

Rean quickly asked back. ’So... the Empire won’t destroy this Universe?’

’Who knows?’ Roan shrugged. ’However, considering the information we have, I believe the Empire would ultimately take Fividhe as a subordinate, and that’s likely what Fividhe wants. All this fight looks more like a show of force, a show that the Werdlem Empire CAN destroy this Universe if they want, but they don’t want to go that far. The Empire has guys like that Victor, remember?’

Rean faintly smiled. ’Well, the Umbras deserve that chance. It’s not something we can intervene in anyway. I hope Xian will manage to make it through all of this.’

Then, Rean returned his attention to Kiju and his companions. "Thank you, Kiju. You must have a way to find where to go in this Universe, even if the Werdlem Network has been blocked by the Universe Owner, right? My connection is obviously gone too, so help a friend out."

"Yes, senior," Kiju quickly took out a device similar to the CDs Rean normally used. "This is a receiver. You can’t communicate with it, but you can receive all the information necessary. Inside, there are all the maps senior will need for this Universe. Everyone carries these devices, so I won’t need them. Or you can take any of the devices my companions here are carrying. They are all the same."

Rean took the device, sent his Divine Sense inside, and sure enough, he quickly found the information he wanted. "This is very good indeed, Kiju. Now then, I’m sending you out of my Dimensional Realm. I will take your advice and get out of this Universe before things get more complicated."

Then, Kiju’s group found themselves back outside, the spaceships not too far away in the distance. The four sighed in relief and quickly flew away. "To think we were fully healed and didn’t need to say anything important. Fortunately, we found a reasonable senior."

The group nodded in agreement, quickly disappearing into the void.

Back in the Dimensional Realm, it was Sister Orb who was already checking the device. [The thing about this being a receiver is a lie. However, Kiju wasn’t lying to us. He likely didn’t know. There is a hidden code that allows it to communicate with nearby devices instead of just receiving signals. Well, we still can’t connect to the Werdlem Network anyway.]

"Forget that," Roan said. "Does it say where the Great Void Shifters are?"

[Yes,] Sister Orb quickly checked. [The nearest one isn’t too far. If we use Spatial Gates, we can get there in three weeks. Of course, this one is old and destroyed, but it doesn’t matter to us. We only want the Abyssal Path that was used by it.]

"Great!" Rean was happy. "Let’s get out of here."

"Not so fast," Roan stopped him, though. "We first need to decide where we are going and what we are doing."
