Death… And Me

Chapter 4197: Almost There

Chapter 4197: Almost There

Both Dofrei and Latifi had to put their all into attacking and defending, neither giving the other any chances. Dofrei had been with Default even before the Primordial Demon Beasts were imprisoned, so it was obvious he wasn’t just anyone. He was definitely strong, no weaker than the twins if you didn’t consider the perks of the Celestial Soul System.

---

The situation reached a somewhat stalemate. Other than the hidden area under the mountain range where the Natural Formation could be found, everything thousands of kilometers around the area was being razed to the ground. Thanks to Dofrei’s disciples, they had the advantage in numbers since there was no limit to the number of boundaries Hick could create.

On the other hand, the Celestials on Soza’s side were all Peak or Late Stage experts who knew a lot more about their laws and their powers. Some of them could fight two of Dofrei’s disciples and even hold the advantage in the fight.

In any case, quality was slowly gaining an advantage over numbers. For now, things were okay, but if it continued for too long, the twins’ group side would start to fall behind.

It was truly fortunate for Soza’s side that the Primordial Demon Beasts were being held down. If all twelve of them also joined this battle, there is no doubt that those on the back foot would be Soza and his companions.

However, one thing looked weird. The Silver Phoenix and all the Demon Beasts on his side. None of them has acted yet. They all looked at the battles, not making a single move. Yes, other than Coddin, the other Peak Divinity Demon Beasts likely wouldn’t make much of a difference in the battles. However, the battles were at such a balanced state that even Coddin’s group could turn the tables for the twins’ group. So, why haven’t they made a move yet?

That’s because Roan ordered Coddin to not do so. Roan told Coddin to stay put and protect the natural formation below them, which would be used to open a channel to Lisan. If Coddin and the Demon Beasts left that area, just the aftermath of the attacks of all these experts could potentially destroy everything. In fact, it would definitely be the case, as everything else around had already been razed to the ground.

The Primordial Demon Beasts were also in their trance inside that place at the moment. They had to be protected as well.

’Are you sure you want me to stay here?’ Coddin couldn’t help but ask. He was the Universe Owner. Other than Soza, Latifi, and Rafina, he definitely could take any of the other experts head-on and win pretty easily with the support of his Universe.

Roan clashed with Soza once again as he answered that Divine Sense message. ’If the natural formation in there is lost, all the energy stored inside will be gone too. Ratria-Ket and Ploto-Ume spent many years preparing everything. We don’t even know if we could try the same thing somewhere else. We can’t risk letting the place be destroyed.’

’Roan!’ Rean’s voice echoed in Roan’s mind. ’I have an idea.’

---

Rean and Kentucky were having quite a hard time fighting Rafina. Just as they imagined, she was indeed the strongest among Soza’s group. Both of them had to go all out just to hold her, and even so, she offered some support to her Celestials around once in a while, such was the difference.

That obviously only contributed to Soza’s side to gain more and more space. However, it was at that moment that Kentucky turned around, flapping his wings and shooting into the distance.

Rafina was taken aback, laughing in response. "Is he already running?"

’Red Life, Crimson Lightning Crack!’

Rean’s Bright Red Lightning burst outwards, cracking space and opening Spatial Rifts everywhere. The power of the Red Lightning seemed to fuel the Spatial Rifts, turning them crimson red and creating a dangerous zone.

Of course, due to his cultivation being suppressed at the moment, the Lightning Crack wasn’t as powerful. Nonetheless, Rafina was also suppressing her cultivation with her plate, so she still had to be careful.

"Don’t worry, he isn’t running," Rean smiled, charging forward and increasing those Crimson Lightning Spatial Cracks. "Instead, I figured out I would be better off if I joined hands with someone else instead."

Suddenly, the power of the world around seemed to move on its own. In the next moment, an enormous arrow made of Silver Flames came from Rafina’s opposite direction. Rafina narrowed her eyes, noticing her own power starting to get weaker as that Silver Flame approached.

No doubt the arrow was actually Coddin. Because of the advantages of being a Universe Owner, it turns out that it was better to have Coddin help Rean against Rafina than Kentucky. That said, Kentucky took Coddin’s position and was now defending the natural formation below.

’Life Style, Crimson Stellar Piercer!’

’Silver Phoenix Descent!’

Rafina didn’t panic, though. She had her own trump cards. Her body immediately began to change, and greenish scales grew everywhere, followed by a tail. Last but not Least, two wings appeared on her back.

Rafina wasn’t a Demon Beast. However, she was the same as Foliana, a human with a hybrid bloodline. In her case, the Corroding Swamp Dragon! Rean only had to see her once to know she was a lot better at using her bloodline than Foliana was.

Rafina extended her hands to both sides, and several of her scales detached from her body. They didn’t shoot in Rean and Coddin’s directions, though. Instead, they turned into energy, a green energy, that spread around her.

’Forced Breakdown!’

The power of the Universe, which was reducing her attack power, was immediately pushed away, creating a space of several tens of meters around Rafina where she was free of any external influences. That also included Rean’s Life World Domain!

Rean and Coddin’s attacks arrived, but instead of facing a weakened Rafina, they met an even stronger one!

’Swamp Dragon Tempest!’

Her Dragon Bloodline worked with all the strength she could muster in this Universe, and two greenish tornadoes shot from her wings!

*Shaaaaaaa!!!*

*Bzzzzzz!!!*

*Boom! Boom!*

Without having to worry about the Universe affecting her power, Rafina’s attacks didn’t lose to either Rean or Coddin. Ultimately, two explosions followed. On one side, a green storm covered in Bright Crimson Lighting spread everywhere. On the other, a Silver-green tornado burst in all directions.

Rean, Rafina, and Coddin came out of all that destruction a second later; neither of them fared well from the clashes.

Rafina was actually surprised to see her blood and many of her scales broken, not to mention some of her bones and the internal injuries. The Silver Phoenix’s power was within her calculation. She prevented the Universe from weakening her, but she couldn’t stop it from powering Coddin. Not to mention, Coddin was the only one who could really use his Celestial Realm Cultivation to the fullest, even if it was only an Initial Stage.

Rean, however, surpassed her predictions. In that last moment, it felt like Rean’s strength increased for a short moment, which was the main reason for her to get injured. "So you weren’t showing everything."

Rean faintly smiled, his Light Element healing his wounds while his Purification Skill got rid of Rafina’s corrosive power. "Actually, I was. I used the same amount of power as I did in all the previous attacks. The only difference was that I’m getting used to your power, that’s all. It might look like I’m getting stronger, but trust me, I’ve been putting my everything into this battle since the start."

Rafine narrowed her eyes. Was that truly the case? She would definitely pay more attention now.

---

As all of that happened, Kentucky watched all the battles and kept defending the Natural Formation below, where the remaining Primordial Demon Beasts could also be found. He didn’t come here only to defend it, though. ’Almost there...’
