Death… And Me

Chapter 4230: Watching the Process

Chapter 4230: Watching the Process

As Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky disappeared, Default noticed someone who definitely did not. "Hum? What about you, Sister Orb?"

[Me? I’m not really a being that ascends... I think. I’m kind of the manager of their Dimensional Realm and their system, remember? That said, I believe I have no need for ascension. I don’t even have a cultivation to start with.]

Default pondered a bit. "Well, that makes sense. Once they get there, see if you can come out by their side in the Celestial Plane. Normally, such a thing would be impossible. One can not bring others with them inside their Pocket Dimensional Realms. But you... You are different."

[Do you think they could bring others as well due to their special traits? The Great Void IS their Dimensional Realm in the most strict sense, after all.] Sister Orb asked.

"No," and Default discarded the idea. "Everyone else is truly bound by the laws of our Great Void. You are an exception because you are connected to them, that’s all. Anyone else will have to ascend the normal way. Besides, I’m not certain if you can even go there yet. Once again, you should try it out once they get there."

At some point, the twins’ group’s consciousness faded away. Their bodies completely disappeared as the world around them started to reform after collapsing. The laws of the Great Void finally expelled them, and there was only one way to go.

The ascension wasn’t a fast event. The twins’ group didn’t know yet, but rebuilding the body required many things, and the overall result depended on what they had done before.

One’s dominion over their own Celestial Laws, their bodies, their bloodline, their pocket-dimensional realms, even their entire history. Everything was taken into consideration when the new bodies were being created from scratch.

[Hum?] Sister Orb noticed something, even though the twins’ group had already disappeared. She controlled her own power of The Echo, and showed to Default the environment around the twins’ group, or whatever they were at that moment. [What a strange thing. Because of my connection with them, I feel those four stuck somewhere in between our Great Void and the Celestial Plane. I can even reproduce the environment around them through images. They aren’t here nor there yet.]

Default’s interest was piqued. He had never seen that division before. "Oh! Really? I am not entirely sure what happens during the rebuilding, so this is quite interesting. However, it makes sense."

[Indeed,] Sister Orb agreed. [It would be weird if their bodies started to get rebuilt once they were already in the Celestial Plane. What if someone appeared and intervened, right?]

"Yes," Default thought the same. "Also, before their bodies are rebuilt, they shouldn’t be able to enter the Celestial Plane anyway. So, it makes sense they are being rebuilt somewhere in between."

Default and Sister Orb watched as the many particles that once made the twins’ group were being assaulted by powerful concentrations of Celestial Energy and Laws. "I wonder if we are the first ones seeing this process..." Default couldn’t help but say.

[It can’t be, right? I’m sure there are other experts up there who have tried to research this moment. Well, I can’t tell if they had such a good view of the events as we do right now, though.]

"Oh! Look! They are starting to be put back together again!" Default pointed out.

Sure enough, everything began to get back together as they were still bombarded by huge amounts of Celestial Energy and Laws.

[What can we expect?] Sister Orb asked, curious.

"That will depend on themselves," and Default answered, his eyes glued to the live video that Sister Orb was showing. "I wanted to give them a better explanation of the things that would happen on their way up there. I truly didn’t expect them to understand the process in just a few seconds, let alone that Kentucky would be the trigger. For example, their own aptitude will be based on everything they achieved down here. There is a lot, really a lot of karma involved in this process."

[Is that so? They did accomplish some crazy shit. Hey, doesn’t that mean all of you, the Primordial Demon Beasts, were also quite good when you went there? You guys basically gave birth to a lot of things in our Great Void, after all.]

"Yeap!" Default confirmed. "Each one of us had extremely high aptitude up there. But because of our bond with our Great Void, we never managed to stay up there for long periods of time. So, you could say both things balanced each other."

[Hum?] Sister Orb noticed something else. [The Echo’s mark, it is reacting.]

"What?!" Default paid closer attention as Sister Orb approached the images. "That’s weird. The Echo shouldn’t have anything to do with this process. Once their new bodies were built, they should get completely detached from The Echo of our Great Void. I truly thought their marks would remain in the Great Void."

[What are you talking about? Default, you can also control a little bit of The Echo, and you already went through that process. It shouldn’t be that surprising that they kept that connection as well, no?]

"That’s more because I was directly created by it, so even if my entire body was rebuilt, even my soul, that connection couldn’t be cut. More than a Primordial Beast who could cultivate in the Celestial Plane, I was a Primordial Demon Beast that was once a pillar of our Great Void."

[So... they are experiencing the same thing as you? More than new ascenders, they are the Great Void’s owners?]

"It seems to be the case," Default confirmed. "Perhaps our Great Void also considers them an indispensable part of itself, just like we Primordial Beasts once were."

[Okay... what will happen, then?]

"I’m not too sure," Default shook his head. "But if it is the same thing as it was with me, they should be able to use some of The Echo’s power even in the Celestial Plane. It’s just that when I did it, it was pretty much the same as doing nothing at all."

"The Celestial Plane strongly rejects the Power of The Echo of any Great Void. One’s body wasn’t rebuilt just for show, after all. That plane truly rejects everything that is not from it. On the other hand, the amount of The Echo’s power you can control is infinitely higher than mine. You have truly become our Great Void’s Owners or something similar to it. I can only, at most, borrow a little bit of the same power, which, when compared to you guys, is not worth mentioning at all."

Sister Orb and Default watched as the twins’ group’s bodies were built little by little. The Echo’s mark continued to pour its own energy into their bodies as well, mixing with the Celestial Energy and Laws of the Celestial Plane that was rebuilding the bodies. Finally...

[Oh! I think their bodies are done! They are being dragged away again!]

Default nodded. "Then the rebuild has been concluded... whatever way it was. They will now enter the Celestial Plane."
