Chapter 4353: Discovery
Back in the residence Rean had rented, he found Araujo, Dristan, and Dongaro already waiting for him. From the looks of it, these three Aura Gods had survived the war as well.
"It is good to see you are alive."
Araujo shrugged. "We were mostly used for our abilities in arrays, blacksmithing in Dongaro’s case. So we weren’t brought to the front and stayed at the back. It pays pretty well, and although it is not risk-free since you never know if you will be called in as a soldier in emergencies, it is relatively safer."
Rean approached Araujo and patted his shoulder. "Seems like you liked it very much. It was your first time being allowed to stay back, wasn’t it?"
Araujo’s mouth twitched. "So what? Yes, I’ve always been used as a soldier because I was only a Level One Array Master. You don’t need to put salt on the injury, okay? What do you want? Some kind of emotional gratitude?"
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed in response. "There is no need, no need."
*Clap!*
Clapping his hands together, Rean looked at the three. "Alright, get ready. We are moving back to the Arrays Guild."
The three were caught off guard by the announcement.
"Uh? Why?"
Rean then explained everything that had happened during the war after they separated. He talked about the airplane, the infiltration mission, the Godly Pressure Concealing Array, and how the operation eventually led to the death of the Three-Eyed Raven.
By the time he finished, Araujo, Dristan, and Dongaro were looking at him with expressions full of disbelief. Although they knew Rean was talented, they never expected him to become involved in something that directly influenced the outcome of the war.
"Now we pretty much have an unlimited amount of resources to work with," Rean concluded. "As long as it is related to arrays and research, the guild will support us. I just need to keep reporting what I’m doing and share any discoveries with them."
Dristan and Araujo exchanged glances before looking back at him.
"No credits?" Dristan asked. "Is it really okay for you to receive no recognition for any of this?"
"Most people would kill for that kind of fame," Araujo added. "Especially after creating something that helped kill a Godly Horror."
Rean simply waved his hand dismissively. "Yes, it is perfectly fine. Recognition won’t help me improve arrays. Resources will. If someone else wants the fame, they are free to have it."
Dongaro, however, was more concerned about another matter. "What about me? I’m not an Array Master. I’m here only because of my blacksmithing knowledge."
Rean shook his head. "That doesn’t matter. In fact, if you know any other blacksmiths who might be useful, feel free to invite them. The only requirement is that they are willing to cooperate. I’m completely open to new ideas and suggestions, but I definitely don’t want to waste time constantly proving that I’m right simply because of my cultivation level."
Dongaro nodded in understanding. "With the resources you mentioned, I think I know a few people who might be interested. However, they aren’t exactly famous. Any truly high-level blacksmith would probably refuse if there is no public recognition involved."
Rean smiled in response. "Look at Araujo. Doesn’t he look like a terrible Array Master now? It is thanks to me that he reached the terrible level. Before that, just the fact that he called himself an Array Master was already an insult to the Arrays Guild."
Dristan and Dongaro immediately turned to Araujo, whose expression darkened on the spot.
"Can you stop treating me like that?" Araujo complained. "I’m doing my best here, you know?"
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed even harder. "I’m joking, just joking."
Araujo didn’t look convinced at all.
Eventually, Rean stopped laughing and pointed toward the exit. "Anyway, you heard me. We are moving back to the Arrays Guild. They opened a facility specifically for us there. Better equipment, better workshops, better testing grounds, and practically unlimited resources compared to what we had before. It would be stupid not to take advantage of it."
That immediately caught the attention of all three. Regardless of what they thought about Rean’s personality, none of them could deny that working with better facilities was a dream for any researcher, Array Master, or blacksmith. Just the thought of unrestricted experimentation made them eager to move immediately.
---
While Rean and the others became busy with their new projects, the Godly Subjugation Guild finally found an opportunity to investigate the source of the mysterious golden light that had appeared after the battle against the Godly Horrors.
To be more specific, a scouting force was sent toward the direction where the light had appeared. Arcis personally led the expedition, just in case any clusters of Godly Creatures remained hidden in the area and immediate action became necessary.
The journey took nearly a week. The deeper they advanced into the Godly Creatures’ Territories, the more cautious everyone became. Although the Horde had already been eliminated, no one was foolish enough to believe the territories had suddenly become safe. Fortunately, the trip proceeded without incident, and they eventually arrived at the location.
.bg-ssp-10081{margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;display:flex;justify-content:center;}"This..." Arcis looked at the gigantic crater from the skies as he flapped his wings. "Just what kind of power could cause such a thing?"
Even someone at his level couldn’t hide his surprise.
The crater stretched for hundreds of kilometers in every direction. The landscape had been completely erased, leaving behind a massive scar upon the land. Yet what truly caught Arcis’ attention wasn’t the destruction itself. It was the energy lingering behind.
The entire area was filled with chaotic remnants of Celestial Energy and Godly Pressure. Even after so many days, the fluctuations remained incredibly violent. Arcis could even feel slight interference with his own Ice Laws as his senses swept across the crater. Whatever had happened there, it was clearly not the result of an ordinary attack.
Another detail quickly became apparent. There were no Godly Creatures nearby.
Not a single one.
That alone was strange enough. The surrounding territories should have been crawling with Godly Creatures, yet the region around the crater was completely deserted. It was as if every creature instinctively avoided the place.
Arcis descended from the sky and landed near the edge of the crater. Spreading his senses, he carefully examined the surroundings while the other scouts remained behind him.
Soon, he noticed something unexpected.
"Godly Pressure is being suppressed here."
His eyes narrowed as he expanded his investigation further.
The suppression wasn’t absolute, but it was significant. The natural accumulation of Godly Pressure inside the crater was being hindered to a surprising degree. It almost looked as if the laws themselves were preventing Godly Pressure from gathering within the area.
"No wonder the Godly Creatures don’t dare approach."
The effect immediately reminded him of the Sacred Relic. Of course, the power itself was completely different. Arcis had spent his entire life under the influence of the Sacred Relic and could easily tell that the two phenomena weren’t related. Even so, the result was strangely similar.
"It probably feels somewhat like the Sacred Relic to them," Arcis murmured. "Although this is obviously the aftermath of some kind of explosion."
As he continued his observations, another discovery made his eyes light up.
The suppressive effect was slowly weakening. Since the source of the power was gone, the lingering energy was gradually fading away. However, the speed of that decay was astonishingly slow.
Arcis quickly made a rough estimate. "If this continues at the current rate, it might take several decades before enough Godly Pressure accumulates here for Godly Creatures to return."
The more he thought about it, the more excited he became.
A region of this size, free from Godly Creatures for decades, would be incredibly valuable. Besgol could establish outposts, resource collection sites, or even permanent settlements. The strategic value alone was difficult to measure.
There was also another important difference.
Godly Creatures were not actually afraid of the Sacred Relic. They simply couldn’t withstand its effects. Still, they entered the Sacred Relic’s Influence from time to time.
This place was different. The lingering energy not only suppressed Godly Pressure, but also seemed to provoke genuine fear. Every instinct of the Godly Creatures appeared to be telling them to stay away. The only problem, obviously, was that Godly Pressure still existed. This place didn’t prevent it from coming inside completely.
"This would make an excellent advanced outpost."
Of course, Arcis wasn’t foolish enough to make such a decision immediately. Before anything else, they needed to understand what had happened here and whether any hidden dangers remained.
Just as he was thinking about that, his senses suddenly picked up something unusual.
Arcis immediately took flight.
The closer he moved toward the center of the crater, the stronger the sensation became. At first, he thought it was another concentration of residual energy. However, as he approached, he realized it was something physical.
Finally, he arrived above the exact location.
Partially buried beneath layers of dirt and rubble, something reflected the light.
Arcis stared at it, and for the first time since arriving, genuine disbelief appeared on his face.
"That..."
