Death… And Me

Chapter 4535: Why Here?

Chapter 4535: Why Here?

Going back to the time when the twins’ group sent Coyui away...

Thery had filled the Teleport Array with the Godly Pearls he had on him, which could also be considered payment for Coyui’s help up to that point. They warned him that leaving Woster alone would be dangerous, but Coyui insisted on going anyway.

The thing was, everyone in the twins’ group, as well as Arcis and Thery, genuinely believed that the teleport array had sent Coyui out of Woster. After all, that was the same array they had used to enter Woster in the first place. Thery, Rean, and Flugel couldn’t find anything in the array that indicated it might teleport Coyui somewhere else.

Then again, they knew very little about the ancient arrays. Besides, they had used the tablet that served as the key to activate the teleport array. That same tablet had been used for Coyui’s teleportation, so there was no reason for them to suspect that anything had gone wrong. As far as everyone knew, Coyui should have been gone from Woster for good.

Well... Coyui wasn’t.

—

The teleport array activated, and Coyui’s sight blurred for a moment as a flash of silver light enveloped him. When everything returned to normal, he was indeed somewhere completely different.

It was another chamber, but it definitely wasn’t the chamber the twins’ group had used to enter Woster. Coyui immediately looked around, trying to determine where he had been sent. The place was completely empty if one didn’t consider the teleport array itself. There were no treasures, no inscriptions on the walls, and no signs of anyone having used the chamber recently. All Coyui could see was a single door leading outside.

The door was closed.

At first, Coyui felt excited. He had finally left Woster. How many cultivators had attempted such a thing throughout their lives? Countless experts had spent their final years trying to find a way out, only to disappear forever. Yet, he had apparently succeeded where all of them had failed. Coyui might very well have been the first cultivator in Woster’s history to escape.

However, his excitement died only a few seconds after he stepped out of the teleport array.

Godly Pressure!

A lot of it!

Not only was there a large amount of Godly Pressure, but the concentration was even greater than what he had experienced inside Woster. Coyui’s expression immediately changed.

During the decades he had spent with the twins’ group, he had heard them talk about the outside world. One of the things they had repeatedly mentioned was that the Godly Pressure outside Woster was ridiculously lower than inside.

Coyui had never doubted them. After all, he had seen firsthand how much the twins’ group suffered because of Woster’s Godly Pressure. It was obvious that they had never lived in an environment with such an enormous concentration of it.

Yet the place where Coyui had arrived contained even more Godly Pressure than what he was used to. Naturally, that meant it should contain far more than the so-called outside world.

Coyui’s excitement immediately vanished. "I wasn’t sent outside..."

He cursed under his breath. For a brief moment, he even suspected that the twins’ group had betrayed him. Perhaps they had deliberately used the array to send him somewhere else. The possibility made him angry, although he couldn’t understand why they would go through all that trouble just to deceive him.

In any case, there was no point standing there and guessing. Coyui had to find out where he had been sent. Perhaps he had truly been teleported outside Woster, and something unexpected had happened. Perhaps the Godly Pressure in this particular location was simply abnormal.

With that thought in mind, he approached the only door in the chamber and tried to open it.

Too bad it was completely sealed.

Coyui pushed, but nothing happened. He gathered his Godly Energy and tried again, only to receive the same result. Even after using his full power, he couldn’t make the door move in the slightest. It didn’t even bulge under his attacks.

Coyui’s expression darkened. Naturally, he didn’t give up because of something like that. He began attacking the entrance repeatedly, trying to find a weakness somewhere in the door or the surrounding walls.

Another thing soon caught his attention. The room was completely devoid of air.

That wasn’t a big deal, though. There was plenty of natural Celestial Energy in the environment, and for a cultivator of Coyui’s level, Celestial Energy could easily serve as a substitute. There was nothing particularly unusual about it. Any cultivator at his level could do the same, just as cultivators at higher levels no longer needed to eat ordinary food to survive and didn’t need to sleep either.

Still, the absence of air gave Coyui an idea. Could he have been teleported into another one of those vacuum-sealed vaults inside Woster?

That explanation actually made sense. It was no secret among the cultivators of Woster that there were likely many more undiscovered vaults scattered throughout the isolated world. The twins’ group had found one before, and there was no reason to believe it was the only one.

Besides, not all vaults completely block Godly Pressure. Many of them didn’t have that capability, and this one might just be one of those.

Perhaps this teleport array had simply connected to another ancient vault, something he had mentioned to the twins’ group he had heard about before.

With that possibility in mind, Coyui continued searching for a way out. Meanwhile, the twins’ group began their own investigations elsewhere, completely unaware that the teleport array had failed to send Coyui where they intended.

And so, the days went by.

—

Those vaults were not built for eternal protection, though. Coyui continued attacking the exit, and as time passed, cracks gradually began to spread through the walls surrounding the entrance.

This particular vault was considerably sturdier than the one where the twins’ group had first arrived in Woster. The previous vault had almost collapsed because of the attacks of the first enemies the twins’ group encountered after arriving. Coyui’s attacks weren’t enough to destroy this vault quickly, but he was still an Aura God. Given enough time, he could slowly wear it down.

In any case, it turned out that Coyui didn’t need to destroy the entrance himself.

When he finally managed to create enough cracks in the vault, he also caught the attention of those outside.

Coyui was just about to launch another attack when he suddenly felt an enormous accumulation of Godly Energy near the entrance. His eyes widened, and without hesitation, he immediately shot backward.

That decision saved him from being caught in the attack.

*BOOOOM!*

The door of the vault was blasted open from the other side!

Fragments of the damaged entrance flew into the chamber as a powerful wave of energy swept through the room. Coyui stared at the destroyed entrance in shock. It had taken him days just to create several cracks, while the expert who had appeared outside had destroyed the entrance with a single attack. The difference in strength couldn’t have been any more obvious.

Yet, Coyui quickly forgot about that overwhelming difference as he looked at the emblem on the expert’s clothes. His eyes widened once again.

It was the Rosvelt Sect Emblem!

Not only that, but it was the emblem of a High Elder, something widely recognized throughout Dlaval City for obvious reasons.

Coyui immediately understood that the situation was far worse than he had initially imagined. To become a High Elder in the Rosvelt Sect, the most basic requirement was to be a Peak Stage Law God. If you were below that level, forget it. And that was only the first requirement.

It wasn’t a lie when cultivators said that Rosvelt probably possessed around half of all the Law Gods in Dlaval City. That said, simply reaching the highest cultivation realm known in Woster wasn’t enough to become a High Elder. One needed far more than cultivation.

The man standing before Coyui narrowed his eyes. Coyui didn’t know it, but he had appeared in one of the most secret locations inside the Rosvelt Sect, a place that only the Sect Master and a very small number of experts even knew existed.

Among those few who knew about it, it was known as the Woster Guard Grounds.

Once again, only the Sect Master and several High Elders knew about its existence. And suddenly, an unknown Aura God had appeared inside one of its sealed chambers through a teleport array. In fact, they didn’t even know that vault was there until a moment ago.

It went without saying that Coyui was immediately captured.

And it didn’t take much for him to talk.

If anything, Coyui still believed that the twins’ group had betrayed him by sending him somewhere else. As far as he was concerned, they were the reason he had ended up trapped in that secret location. Naturally, he had no intention of protecting their identities.

He explained everything he knew. The teleport array. The ancient vault. The strange group of cultivators who had appeared out of nowhere. Thery. Arcis. The twins’ group.

Coyui told them how the group had apparently come from outside Woster and how they had used the same teleport array to enter the isolated world. By the time his interrogation ended, the experts of the Rosvelt Sect had obtained information that could potentially change everything they knew about Woster.

—

Back in the present, that was the moment the Sect Master came out and told the guards to bring Coyui inside... as Kentucky watched him from not too far away.

Fortunately, Coyui hadn’t noticed Kentucky. He obviously had far more important things on his mind.

The guards led him through the hall while countless powerful cultivators watched him. Coyui knew that the Sect Master had announced his existence to everyone inside, and there was no telling what the Rosvelt Sect intended to do with him next.

As Coyui was brought into the hall and tried to figure out what he was going to do, a voice suddenly echoed directly in his mind.

-Fuck! Didn’t we send you out of Woster? How the hell are you still here?! Are you crazy?!-

Coyui jolted awake. His eyes widened as he quickly looked around, trying to find whoever had spoken.

He couldn’t see anyone.

The voice had appeared directly inside his mind, so it wasn’t really a voice at all. It was a Celestial Sense Message!

Coyui immediately became alert. However, as he carefully examined his surroundings, he noticed something strange. Right around one of his bare feet, touching his skin, there was a small ring.

Coyui stared at it, feeling surprised.

As for how it appeared there, no one knew.
