Death… And Me

Chapter 4607: Doubts and more Doubts

Chapter 4607: Doubts and more Doubts

Everyone entered Rean’s airplane, and they resumed their journey back to Besgol. Before they left, Rean also put the collar and anklet back on Luxa and Lunelle. By now, it was pretty obvious that his new devices worked, so there was no reason to keep taking chances.

"Alright, this should be fine," Rean said as he finished checking the two devices.

Aurundi remained in the same airplane this time. After all, he wasn’t certain whether Krava and Tapoqi would return soon. Those two had been completely drained by Celis, but who knew whether they could recover quickly with the help of Godly Crystals? Until they knew for sure that the two Law Gods were no longer a threat, it was better for Aurundi to stay with them.

Of course, Aurundi had a lot of questions. In fact, everyone did, and Kentucky was the first to ask. "Just what was that back there? Did you merge with Luxa and Lunelle? It was quite crazy. By the time I regained my balance and flew back, I arrived just in time to see you clashing against Doluno. I’ve never seen those forms before."

Aurundi’s lightning crackled softly around his core as he turned toward them. At first, he had assumed that those strange forms were some secret weapon belonging to Rean and Roan. Now, however, it was obvious that even the twins’ group didn’t seem to know what had happened. "Did you hide it from everyone?"

Roan shook his head while glancing at Lunelle, who was still resting comfortably in his arms. "I didn’t even know such a thing was possible. It wasn’t us who started it, either. Luxa and Lunelle did it on their own."

"Indeed," Rean agreed. "Of course, we could have resisted if we wanted to. It’s just that we didn’t feel any hostility from either of them, and considering the situation we were in, we didn’t have much time to question what they were doing."

Celis was quite curious about that point. "Could they do it with anyone?"

Roan immediately denied the possibility. "Not going to happen. I don’t know how they acquired that ability, nor what they had to do to use it. However, one thing is certain: you need to have very pure Yin and Yang Energies. Even Kentucky, who is the one closest to Rean and me, wouldn’t have Yin and Yang Energy pure enough for that. Well, Luxa and Lunelle do have purer Yin and Yang Energy than Kentucky, though."

Aurundi’s lightning flickered more intensely for a moment. He obviously wasn’t entirely convinced. "Aren’t you just saying that to prevent anyone else from using them?"

Roan snorted. "Hmph! If you want to give it a try, go ahead. Just wait for Luxa to wake up and ask whether it’s possible with you. Voltaris are Lightning Spirits, obviously closely related to Yang Energy. Just don’t blame me if something goes wrong."

"Something goes wrong?" Kachia immediately picked up on that. "What do you mean? Did you find something?"

Rean answered this time. "Although it was brief, I felt the connection between Luxa’s Yang Energy and my own Yang Energy. They are extremely compatible because of how pure they are. Mine is still a level above, though, but that helped her case. Besides, there is another point to consider. Luxa was awakened by my Yang Energy, while Lunelle was awakened by Roan’s Yin Energy. We were the ones who caused them to be born."

He paused briefly before continuing. "That deep relationship is likely necessary as well. At the same time, lacking such a high level of compatibility would make this nothing more than a dangerous bet. Senior Aurundi, I’m not saying this because I’m greedy for Luxa. I genuinely believe things could go very wrong if you tried what Luxa did with me. I won’t stop you, though. Just wait until she wakes up."

Aurundi’s lightning crackled as he thought it over. He couldn’t tell whether Rean and Roan were telling him the complete truth or simply trying to protect Luxa. Nonetheless, after seeing what had happened, he genuinely wanted to know if it was possible. Although the transformation had only lasted for a short time, it had allowed Rean and Roan to clash with a Law God and even reach a stalemate. Just how much stronger would Aurundi become if Luxa could do the same with him?

"I’ll take the risk," Aurundi said with determination.

"Then you only have to convince her," Rean replied. Neither he nor Roan tried to argue further. They had already done what they needed to do by warning Aurundi, and they truly weren’t lying about the danger.

"By the way," Lukay suddenly said, having noticed another point, "Roan... did you actually fly back there? Not like a normal cultivator does, but like a bird or a spirit."

Roan nodded. "Those wings weren’t real, and at the same time, they were. I could feel them. I could even feel the meridians inside them and control them as if they were my own."

Rean was the same. "Indeed. The tails on my back, as well as my ears, claws, and everything else, all felt like parts of myself. In that moment, I could move much faster than I normally can. It is weird, as they were immaterial and material at the same time. You and I could see through them."

Another point worth mentioning was that Rean and Roan already had experience with merging abilities. After all, they had been able to merge with each other back when the Celestial Soul System still existed.

That ability was completely gone after the Celestial Soul System disappeared, but the experience itself hadn’t vanished. No doubt that experience helped Rean and Roan control their newly gained power. They already knew what it was like to use another’s strength as though it were their own.

"That reminds me," Rean said. "Roan, did you suddenly gain an affinity with the Water Element?"

Roan looked at him. "From the way you asked that question, it seems like you also gained an affinity with the Fire Element. Or, to be more specific, with the Fiery-Red Golden Fire Element from Luxa, while I gained an affinity with Lunelle’s Navy-Blue Golden Water Element."

As mentioned in the past, Rean and Roan had Light and Dark Element Affinities. Whenever they used the Water or Fire Element, they did so by manipulating Yin and Yang Energy to produce the corresponding effects. The twins didn’t truly possess an affinity with those two elements, which meant they couldn’t comprehend their Laws either.

The same principle applied to cultivators who lacked an affinity with the Light or Dark Elements. If they wanted to use those elements, they had to manipulate Yin and Yang Energy to achieve similar results. Naturally, they couldn’t comprehend the corresponding Laws through that method.

Yet, during the brief moment when Luxa and Lunelle transformed into pure energy and entered their bodies, something had changed. Rean and Roan had genuinely gained the ability to use Luxa’s Navy-Blue and Golden Water Element and Fiery-Red and Golden Fire Element.

That discovery also confirmed something they had already been almost certain about for a long time. Lunelle’s Water Element and Luxa’s Fire Element weren’t their basic forms. They were special variations, just like the twins’ Red Lightning wasn’t ordinary Lightning Element. Whatever the origins of Luxa’s and Lunelle’s elements were, they were clearly far more powerful than their ordinary counterparts.

*Rawr...*

Suddenly, Luxa’s eyelids twitched. A moment later, she slowly opened her eyes. She had finally recovered enough energy with Rean’s Yang Element to wake up.
