Chapter 4625: The Truths
Four months into their journey, the twins’ group had already fought a good number of Godly Predators, although the number of encounters was nothing compared to what they had experienced south of Besgol during their last Elite Exploration Mission.
In any case, with Tobao and Arcis accompanying them, such challenges weren’t much of a problem. The two Law Gods could handle most threats without much difficulty, and even the occasional situation requiring the group’s combined efforts was far from enough to put them in serious danger.
Still, both the Arctic Arcurio and the Monk grew more apprehensive with each passing day. After all, the longer cultivators remained outside the Sacred Relic’s Influence, the more their presence accumulated within the Godly Creatures’ Natural Perception. Eventually, that growing presence would attract the attention of increasingly dangerous creatures or simply larger and larger numbers of them.
During the fifth month, a Godly Horror finally appeared. Fortunately, it was only an Initial Stage Horror, making it an excellent opportunity for the twins’ group to test their recently acquired strength. Tobao and Arcis remained on the sidelines, allowing the four to handle the creature themselves. The battle ended in just over a minute, with the Godly Horror defeated before either Law God needed to consider intervening.
That result was hardly surprising. The twins’ group had already reached the Late Stage of the Zone God Realm, and their many other advantages allowed them to fight with power comparable to that of an Initial Stage Law God, even without comprehending any laws. When the four worked together, their combined strength was greater still.
Well, it might not have been a surprise to the twins’ group, but Arcis and Tobao were definitely impressed by what they saw, though.
Finally, in the sixth month, Rean checked their progress toward the Sprouting Portal. After examining the information displayed on the airplane’s console, he turned toward Roan, who immediately understood what he wanted to discuss.
Roan glanced at Tobao and Arcis before speaking. "Alright, this should be far enough. Since you haven’t given up and are still here, I can trust that you won’t be returning to Besgol anymore."
Tobao and Arcis had been waiting for this moment for quite some time. The number of Godly Creatures they encountered had steadily increased as they traveled farther away from Besgol, and they knew that the situation would only worsen. Yet, despite the danger, they still hadn’t seen the method the twins had promised would help them avoid being swarmed by those creatures. It was time to find out what Rean and Roan had been keeping to themselves.
Rean turned back to the console and adjusted several options. Immediately, the Godly Crystals already placed in their respective slots began to be absorbed. The energy extracted from them entered the airplane’s arrays, where it was split into two distinct forms: Celestial Energy and Godly Pressure. The former continued powering the vessel, while the latter spread outward, enveloping the entire airplane in a carefully controlled layer of energy.
From the perspective of the Godly Creatures’ Natural Perception, the airplane had suddenly become something entirely different. Rather than sensing the presence of several cultivators inside an unfamiliar object, they would now perceive what appeared to be a Flying Godly Beast Creature traveling through the region.
Arcis and Tobao immediately noticed the change through their Godly Senses. "This..."
Roan took over the explanation. "This is the special method we mentioned before. Rean’s arrays can separate the energy inside Godly Crystals and use it to disguise the airplane as a Godly Creature. As you can feel for yourselves, our presence has disappeared from their Natural Perception."
"More importantly, the process has also reset the presence we’ve accumulated so far. If either of you steps outside now, the presence you’ve generated since leaving Besgol will be gone. As far as the Godly Creatures are concerned, you’ll have the same presence you would have had if you’d only just left Besgol today. That means only nearby Godly Creatures could feel you now. Think about our airplane as a pseudo Sacred Relic that can fly."
Arcis and Tobao exchanged shocked looks. They had known that the twins were confident in their method, but hearing the explanation was one thing; feeling its effects firsthand was another. Six months of accumulated presence had effectively vanished, giving them a fresh start in the eyes of the creatures roaming the surrounding territories.
Rean then continued explaining the details. The disguise wasn’t perfect protection, of course. Godly Creatures could still attack other Godly Creatures, and the arrays wouldn’t prevent a hostile creature from attacking the airplane if it had a reason to do so.
Nevertheless, the disguise made their journey considerably safer by preventing their presence from accumulating indefinitely and drawing unwanted attention from further and further away. It was a way to manage the danger rather than eliminate it altogether, but that alone was an enormous advantage.
Naturally, there was another reason Rean had waited until now to reveal the technique. Throughout the journey, he had kept a close eye on the faeries inside his own body. If discussing the secret had caused either of them to react or awaken, he would have stopped the explanation immediately.
However, none of those pink faeries, or whatever they were, showed any reaction whatsoever. That was enough to reassure Rean that Tobao and Arcis wouldn’t be returning to Besgol and spreading the information, just as Duze had required.
Once the explanation was finished, the twins moved on to their next revelation: their ability to generate Godly Pressure themselves simply by using their cultivation technique in reverse.
That announcement left Tobao and Arcis even more stunned. The twins didn’t settle for merely describing the process, either. They demonstrated it, allowing the two Law Gods to sense the resulting Godly Pressure directly. If they weren’t seeing the twins’ group with their own eyes, they would definitely have thought there were four Godly Creatures inside the airplane.
For a moment, Tobao and Arcis found themselves struggling with conflicting thoughts. Besgol had been invaded in the past by cultivators controlled by Godly Pressure, and witnessing the twins generate it so effortlessly naturally brought those memories to mind. It was difficult not to associate such an ability with the disaster that had once threatened their Region.
Rean quickly noticed their reaction and explained the difference. They had nothing to do with the cultivators responsible for that incident. Those invaders had already been dead, which was why Godly Pressure could be used to control them in the first place. Tobao and Arcis knew that much themselves. The four companions standing before them, on the other hand, were very much alive, and their ability to manipulate Godly Pressure didn’t change that fact.
The clarification eased some of their concerns, although it couldn’t completely erase the shock of learning that the twins’ group possessed yet another extraordinary ability.
Roan then moved on to the next part of the demonstration, handing Arcis and Tobao several Anti-Godly Pressure Pills. As the two Law Gods examined what he had given them and learned about the pills’ effects, the steady stream of revelations continued.
And they still weren’t finished.
Next came an explanation of the twins’ system and the various abilities it provided. During a subsequent encounter with a Godly Predator, Rean and Roan activated the Yin Yang Sanctuary and demonstrated its weakening effect as well as its ability to immediately wipe out the Godly Pressure within its range.
Tobao and Arcis could clearly feel the difference in the creature’s power, leaving them with yet another reason to question just how many secrets their new companions possessed.
"Ah!" Tobao suddenly remembered. "It was you! You were the ones who wiped out the Godly Pressure back when the Godly Horrors got close to the Sacred Relic!"
Rean smiled in response. "Bingo!"
By that point, the two Law Gods were practically going numb from everything they had learned. Each new revelation seemed more ridiculous than the last, and they were beginning to wonder whether there was any limit to what the twins could accomplish.
Yet nothing prepared them for the final discovery.
The Dimensional Realm!
Or, more accurately, the fact that the place the twins called their Dimensional Realm was actually an entire Great Void!
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Tobao exclaimed after being brought into the Vinx Great Void.
He turned in every direction, trying to take in his surroundings while simultaneously sensing the enormous suppression affecting his cultivation. His strength had been reduced all the way to the Celestial Realm.
Arcis, meanwhile, felt a headache coming on. "It would already be ridiculous if you had simply gained access to a Pocket Dimensional Realm. Even that is supposed to be something cultivators can only obtain at the World God Realm, according to the legends I’ve heard. But an entire Great Void? Doesn’t that make you richer than all the Regions combined?"
Rean shook his head. "Not quite. There are some very important restrictions."
He proceeded to explain that nothing originating from the Great Void could be brought into the Celestial Plane. Likewise, nothing from the Celestial Plane could be used to interfere with the Great Void, although Celestial Realm items could be brought inside. The twins’ group themselves were the only exception to that second restriction, allowing them to enter and leave the Vinx Great Void without having their strength suppressed due to the fact they were the Great Void Owners.
"Why such restrictions?" Tobao asked, still struggling to accept the situation.
"We believe it’s because the price hasn’t been paid," Rean answered.
That explanation immediately made sense to Tobao and Arcis. They knew that enormous prices had to be paid to send anything down into the Great Void. Similarly, cultivators could only reach the Celestial Plane by completing the process of ascension.
The twins’ ability threatened to circumvent those rules entirely. They possessed access to an entire Great Void without having to pay the usual price, yet they could also return to the Celestial Plane without undergoing another ascension. The restrictions were therefore a way to preserve the balance between the two worlds. The twins could possess an entire Great Void, but its resources and influence had to remain within that Great Void.
"It’s still ridiculous..." Tobao muttered after finally letting out a long breath. "No wonder you said you were pretty confident you could reach your destination."
"Can we leave now?" Arcis asked. "This suppression of my cultivation is making me uneasy."
Rean nodded. There was no reason to keep them there any longer than necessary, so the twins brought everyone back to the Celestial Plane.
In an instant, Tobao and Arcis reappeared inside the airplane. The suppression weighing on their cultivation vanished, and their strength returned to normal.
In a way, that experience was also reassuring. While inside the Great Void, the twins’ group could have taken advantage of the two Law Gods’ suppressed cultivation to eliminate them if they had harbored any malicious intentions. Instead, they had allowed both of them to leave unharmed, with their cultivation fully restored.
"Alright, tell us more."
