Chapter 4207: The Architects of Survival! I
The Way of Existence of Malphas was a simple, elegant thing, a philosophy forged in the crucible of collapse and rebirth.
It was not a complex weaving of shifting ideals or a grand, abstract search for meaning. For him, his existence had a singular, unyielding purpose: to serve.
And to serve, one needed to see everything.
At this moment, his eyes were seeing a great deal!
From his vantage point in the chaotic yet vibrant Emotive Folds, a part of his consciousness gazed out across the impossible distances to the Transcendent Origin Folds.
He saw the glorious, beautiful auroras of white and gold, the signature of Origin authority, permeating across the wounded reality.
In the far, far distance, like a mirage of a dream that was too grand to be real, he saw it: a glimpse of the Heart of Origin.
It was an empire of beginnings, a citadel of genesis so vast that the corner of it he could perceive was easily twice the size of the decimated Aeternitas Concordia.
Massive white-gold structures and towers, each the size of a Wheel of Existence, stretched out in all directions. The great nine-headed turtle, the very manifestation of the Living Origins’ collective will, had been summoned from that direction.
And it was toward that impossible fortress that Malphas’s true gaze was directed.
A fortress that felt like a slumbering beast that could unleash many things if poked!
Thousands of his invisible, horror-inducing obsidian crows, each with eyes of burning crimson, permeated the very threads of the Folds.
They were whispers in the shadows, thoughts in the back of reality’s mind, and their gazes were observing, recording, and obtaining as much information as possible.
It did not take them long to locate their primary target.
Schrodinger.
His previous Master, THE Living Emotive, could find anyone, anything, anywhere.
How could Malphas, a vessel for so many of that being’s Everythings, not be able to observe someone who merely did not wish to be observed?
The moment the crows’ collective perception honed in on the beggar-like figure, who was even now weaving his way through the chaos of the battlefield with an unnerving calm, Schrodinger frowned.
He looked around, his ancient eyes scanning the space, and shockingly, his gaze locked onto multiple of the crows.
Crows that Malphas was confident a creature of even 100 Quadrillion Complexity would not be able to so easily perceive.
’Interesting...’
The eyes of this humble butler began to flash with a cold and cruel interest.
He began to imagine all the different, exquisite ways he could possibly dissect this creature known as Schrodinger, this schemer who sought to navigate around his Master.
But first, he had to ascertain exactly how powerful this creature was. When the secrets of Schrodinger were laid bare, he would present them all to his Lord. For now... he would keep watch.
But these were only parts of his extension of consciousness. Multiple other bodies of his were already moving, acting with an unfathomable efficiency that was its own form of power.
For example.
Back in the Early Veiled Shore, a body of Malphas could be seen walking through a field of verdant-gold grasses, his steps silent on the radiant sands.
He was approaching the Land Lifeform, Heidrun. The majestic goat, her lustrous white fur seeming to comb the very light of the Shore, was grazing with an air of deep contentment, her eyes half-closed in bliss.
In Malphas’s hands, he carried a simple, pristine white bucket.
Heidrun sensed his approach. She turned, her ancient, crystalline eyes narrowing with a suspicious, threatening glare.
The Pristine Heidrun sees your intent and denies you access. She cannot be milked by just anyone.
...!
The goat’s posture was a masterpiece of haughty arrogance!
Malphas remained calm. He simply waved a hand, his gaze sweeping over the radiant Auric Vitae Grasses. The wave of his hand released a blinding singularity of brilliance, a flash of pure, conceptual light that momentarily bathed the entire Shore.
The Hard-Working Butler of The Early Creature, Osmont, has proceeded to give one of his Everythings of Excitement to bathe its brilliance over all Sacred Herbs currently being grown in the Early Veiled Shore, and all other applicable vegetation.
The Everything of Excitement causes the effects and maturity of all herbs to be amplified by a factor of ten.
BOOM!
The entire Radiant Shore vibrated, a low, resonant hum of pure, unadulterated growth.
The herbs being tended by the humanoid Tenders began to grow larger, more radiant, their colors deepening into hues that reality had not yet invented.
The maturation of all Sacred Herbs has been accelerated.
The Primordial Spirit Tree has begun to bear its first fruit.
The Tenders Tree has begun a new cycle of production.
Heidrun, in her arrogant stupor, watched as the vibrant green-gold grasses around her exploded in a frenzy of growth!
They shot upward, exceeding her height in a matter of seconds, their aroma becoming so intense, so intoxicating, that her eyes blazed with a light of stars and a newfound, overwhelming excitement.
She turned to Malphas, who had already sat down on the golden sands and placed the bucket beneath her, and her previous hostility was gone, replaced by a grudging respect.
Heidrun has deemed you to be an adequate butler and grants you permission to obtain the Sacred Mead of Existence from her.
WAA
Just like that, Malphas had won her over!
Heidrun immediately forgot his existence and began to eat voraciously, her entire being focused on the impossibly delicious grasses.
The production and effecfs of the Sacred Mead of Existence will be amplified by a factor of ten, as Heidrun enjoys an unfathomable flavor of her favorite Herb that is filled with an Everything of Excitement.
This was what Malphas was capable of!
This was his Way of Existence. His purpose was to serve, and to do so in a terrifyingly efficient way. And truly, he was just getting started!
Back in the Transcendent Origin Folds, the battlefield had descended into a glorious, terrible chaos.
More droves of Dead Existences tumbled out of the Tears, an endless tide of endings. But the Living were responding in kind!
More reinforcements poured in, and now, the Dukes were no longer the only main players.
