Why was it so hard to replace an Absolute?

THE Civilizational Scale of Existence, or THE Level One Scale of Existence, held entities whose Ways held a level of differentiation.

Someone following the Civilization of Elemental, at THE Fundamental Depth more often than not, could also expand their existence to encompass the Way of Fire or the Way of Air. They could branch out, diversify, build subsidiary paths that complemented their main journey.

But ultimately, if and when they attained Absolute, it would be with their singular Civilization of Elemental.

If they were profound enough, they would have Fire or Air as Derivative Civilizations that remained at Fundamental Depth, while their main Elemental Civilization stayed at Absolute Depth.

They had to embody that Civilization absolutely in order to be an Absolute, after all.

The word itself implied totality.

Complete dedication to a single path.

Now the question came which asked... can an Absolute not have two Civilizations at Absolute?

They had such a complex weight of their Depth. Surely, such a thing may be possible?

The answer to this was a very, very difficult one.

And it was why the statement was made that replacing an Absolute was nigh impossible!

To replace an Absolute, one would have to take on their Civilization at the Absolute level. But if one already had their own Civilization at Absolute, the two would conflict.

Two Absolute Civilizations in one being?

It may be considered fundamentally impossible.

But of course, as always, there were exceptions.

At this moment, Noah chose to be one particular exception as he remained attuned in that state where he was seeing a great deal of things.

|THE Weaver of Existence feels a tug from the musing of Undifferentiated Fate.|

|This tug resonates with all Principles related to Fate across Observable Existence.|

|The connection is not complete.|

|The perception is not total.|

|But glimpses are available.|

The Principles related to Fate.

At such words, Noah followed the sensation of that tug.

He felt the glimmer of Principles that looked like countless lines permeating out across different portions of Observable Existence. They were like veins carrying the lifeblood of causality, like roots of a tree so vast that its branches touched every corner of reality.

He felt as if he was sensing portions of them here and there, never a full picture, and never did he even come close to perceiving every single Principle nor even how they permeated across Observable Existence.

That was too distant of a thought.

That level of perception would require Depth far beyond what he currently held.

He only saw glimpses.

And at this moment, he saw scenes of...

Something unique.

Something that made even his hardened existence pause.

It was...corruption.

Malformed Authorities clustered around Principles related to Fate like parasites feeding on a host. They appeared as foam or seaweed, green and obsidian intertwined in patterns that spoke of wrongness made manifest. They clung to Philologies relating to Fate with desperate hunger, their forms pulsing with stolen authority that they were slowly corrupting into something twisted.

Corrupted Growths spread across the surface of pure concepts like mold spreading across bread. They were everywhere he looked, clustering most densely around the Weavings that THE Weavers had once maintained. Without their caretakers, these growths were propagating at rates that would have terrified anyone who understood what they were seeing.

And they seemed unfathomably abundant!

For every pure thread of Fate he perceived, there were dozens of corrupted masses trying to consume it. For every clean Philology, there were hundreds of Malformed Authorities attempting to twist its meaning. The scale of corruption was beyond anything he had anticipated.

This was what THE Weavers had been managing?

As he saw this...

|Unique Information Obtained|

|Observable Existence is so vast that most Absolutes still do not know its true vastness, but it is incomprehensibly stable.|

|This stability was not achieved normally.|

|In nature, all of Existence leans toward entropy and chaos.|

|Without intervention, reality would collapse into formless disorder.|

|The Origin of Corruption|

|Across Observable Existence, countless things mutate and go wrong with every passing moment.|

|Ways collapse. Civilizations fail. Existence Malforms. Beings die. Concepts degrade.|

|As a product of these failed, collapsed, or malformed Weavings of Existence, corruption manifests.|

|This corruption takes the form of Malformed Authorities or Corrupted Growths.|

|These manifestations naturally have a tendency to converge around that which is pure in order to continue the process of degradation.|

|They feed on purity. They spread through contact. They transform order into chaos.|

|The Role of Depth|

|As natural processes of corruption, entities with sufficient Depth can destroy and purify these Corrupted Growths with an exertion of their power.|

|This transforms them back to Pure Civilizational Authority that flows back into Observable Existence to further contribute to its stability.|

|The higher the Depth, the more efficiently this purification occurs.|

|The Role of Absolutes|

|With the existence of Absolutes, nearly all Malformed Authorities converge toward them or the Weavings related to them.|

|This is because Absolutes represent the purest expressions of their Civilizations.|

|Corruption is drawn to purity like moths to flame.|

|Passively, THE Weavers would routinely send their authority out to cleanse the Malformed Authorities or Corrupted Growths that were byproducts of collapsed Existence, collapsed Ways, and all forms of malformation across Observable Existence.|

|This was not a conscious effort.|

|It was as natural as breathing.|

|Their very existence performed this function simply by being what they were.|

|If left unattended, established Weavings of Existence can become malformed.|

|Malformations lead to instability.|

|Instability leads to collapse.|

|Some forms of instabilities and malformations previously observed are:|

|Living Collapses and Mutated Inevitabilities.|

|The Wastes of THE Fallout: An entire region of Observable Existence transformed into concentrated instability through deliberate action.|

|Even with THE Fallout, even with endless corruption spread across Existence, Observable Existence still remains unfathomably stable.|

|By no other reason other than the fact that...|

|Absolutes exist.|

|For Absolutes, cleansing Corrupted Growths before they propagate is something easy.|

|It requires minimal effort and provides benefits in the form of Pure Civilizational Authority reclaimed.|

|It is why Absolutes passively maintain the stability of all Observable Existence simply through the natural expression of their power.|

|This is the function you have inherited.|

|This is the responsibility that now falls upon THE Weaver of Existence, yet another musing and capability of an Absolute, even though you are far from Absolute.|

BOOM!

The information he received was heavy.

Malformed Living. Corrupted Growths. Living Collapses. Mutated Inevitabilities. The Wastes of THE Fallout.

Two of these were natural consequences of entropy in an existence that tended toward chaos.

The other three...

Were all in one way or another related to Paradox!

Living Collapses.

Mutated Inevitabilities.

The Wastes of THE Fallout were the direct result of THE Living Paradox’s actions during THE Change.

Noah sat on the Throne of Woven Closure with threads of blue-gold fate streaming from his existence in all directions!

And his singular thought in all this after learning what he learned was...shouldn’t THE Primordial Chaos be the scariest fucker out there?
