Chapter 5572: MY MANA! I
A horrific aura erupted from the old lifeform, crashing down across the domain, and the drifts of dead flattened under it!
But Noah was not listening to the aura.
He was looking into this being’s eyes. And even though the body was another body, a stranger’s face wearing a stranger’s age, the instant their gazes met, he recognized what looked out from behind it.
It was the visage of THE Sealed One!
Noah’s gaze went cold and imperious. And behind that gaze, many things clicked quietly into place, one after another, regarding the Dimensionlapses, and the Infinite Lifeforms, and the shape of certain long games!
Without further ado, and without so much as a word, Noah casually raised THE Aurate Collar of the First Purity and put it on.
The sands beneath his feet twisted!
Existence cried out around him, a thin, straining sound from every direction at once, the sound of a domain realizing what it now contained, and Noah took a step without offering a conversation!
In an instant, he appeared in front of THE Sealed One!
And in that instant, hanging in the red air with the gold at his throat, he did not look like a man who had knelt as a normal Human beneath a falling sky mere hours ago. Bare-bodied and pristine, white pants burning with ancientness, dark hair unmoving in the corpse-wind, obsidian singularity pupils fixed on his enemy, the collar of a First Lifeform resting on his chest bones above the singularity that was his and no one else’s....
He looked like something out of the first age of existence. A primal, ancient being, arrived very late, and very calm!
He punched out!
HUUM!
Existence shattered like mirrors before his fist, whole panes of it breaking and falling away, and the cracks did not stop at THE Sealed One, they extended outward, racing through the red air toward the Infinite Lifeforms and all the others behind!
BOOM!
Truly, there had been no technique in it.
Noah had instinctively moved and struck out in the most natural manner possible. He had tugged on the power of that single singularity within his existence, that Provenance Essence, and simply punched.
And the result was something even he could not have imagined.
Existence cracked!
It felt like it, and then it proved to be exactly so, as spiderweb cracks echoed outward through the air opposite him, pane after pane of reality splitting along lines that had no business existing, and the cracks did not heal and did not fade. They remained, hanging in the red sky like the aftermath of a stone through glass, frozen mid-shatter!
And the army riding the rivers of corpses had been standing in the way.
Cenozoic Scale Infinite True Lifeforms. Mesozoic Scale Infinite True Lifeforms. Beings who had climbed ladders for entire ages to stand where they stood, and every one of them caught in the spread of those cracks had their bodies split alongside existence itself!
They looked down at themselves, horrified.
Because it was not only their bodies. Their Intents cracked. Their Pantheons cracked!
Their Infinity, the silent compounding core of everything they were, took structural damage and fractured alongside their physical vessels, lines running through flesh and framework alike as though the punch had made no distinction between the two. It had not, of course. To that fist, there was no distinction worth making!
Then the leaking began.
Their Infinity seeped out through the cracks in slow ribbons of light. Their Trueness followed it, thinning into the air. Everything they had gathered across their long, acquisitive lives began escaping through fractures that would not close, and they wailed, and they screamed, and they could do nothing else!
HUUM!
They were dying! They were hit by something so unfathomably true they couldn’t help but die!
Noah took all of this in with shining eyes, and yet he could not take those eyes off one singular figure.
THE Sealed One!
The red robed vessel had cracked with all the rest. Fractures ran through its borrowed body from crown to heel, the same lines that were bleeding an army dry.
And it was stitching itself back together.
The cracks along its frame drew closed, seam by seam, unhurried, the way an old tailor mends a coat he has mended a hundred times before. Not one thread of its Trueness leaked. Not a wisp of its Intent escaped the fractured vessel!
Everything that should have poured out of a body broken that badly simply stayed, held in place by something that had clearly done this before, in more bodies than anyone would ever be permitted to count.
It was an eerie thing to watch. All around him his followers were coming apart at their seams, and the old monster quietly reassembled his own.
When he was whole, THE Sealed One drifted down and sat himself on one of the hanging cracks in existence, settling onto the broken edge of reality as though it were a garden bench. He looked at Noah with an extremely somber gaze, and his eyes moved, briefly, to the collar Noah now wore.
"Now you are becoming even more of a pain than a vessel," he said. "I want you more. And yet here you are, actually ruining plans now?"
...!
His voice was calm. Pleasant, even! And underneath the calm, one could feel the heavy anger.
Noah gazed coldly at him and clenched his fists.
He did not care what tricks the old monster had brought today. He was thinking about one thing only: how to wipe out this body of THE Sealed One, here, before it stepped back behind its curtains.
So first, he truly gazed at this being.
HUUM!
STATUS PANEL: VESSEL OF THE SEALED ONE
VERITAS: 10
PROVENANCE: 0
POTENTIA: NULL
PONDUS: 3
...!
Noah was alarmed by the results.
The Trueness, the VERITAS of the vessel of THE Sealed One, was exactly the same as his. Ten. So high!
Was this why its Trueness had not leaked even while cleaved?
Everything else in those cracks had bled out because everything else was borrowed, and borrowed things escape. But a being true to itself at that depth held together by definition!
The immensity, PONDUS, was lower than his at 3. And the potential displayed NULL, which was not the UNDEFINED that Anaximander’s panel had shown, and was not zero as it was hard to interpret!
THE Sealed One truly was an old monster.
As Noah looked at this being, he knew one more thing with complete certainty. THE Sealed One loved to scheme and fuck around. Every extra moment gifted to him was a moment he would spend arranging something. So Noah wanted to finish things quickly!
Which meant he had to ask himself a simple question.
How could he express his power most effectively?
He had just wiped out everything from his body. All he had was Provenance Essence. A single unit of it. A single singularity. It felt anchored into him, and he could throw its force out through his limbs, but was that it? Could he only brutely punch out to express his power?
Surely THE Provenance Lifeforms had their own ways of fighting. They generated everything themselves!
So what could he do? He wanted his Mana. He wanted his Causes. But those were old systems that others had made, and they were external, and he had cast them out for exactly that reason. So...how could he make his own?
