Chapter 2888: An Unexpected Reunion
Zu An’s body shuddered as he lifted his head in disbelief. The voice was extremely familiar to him—Xihe!
Standing before him was a radiant woman who naturally commanded attention. Flames flickered in her vicinity.
“Xihe!” Zu An was surprised and overjoyed. He had been in despair after failing to find the Goddess of Wu Mountain and Gong Suyin, but who could have thought that he would meet Xihe in this world instead?
He rushed forward and embraced her tightly. “It’s wonderful to see you again!”
Xihe had been looking at him with a mocking smile, only to freeze up at his embrace. The other party had moved so quickly that she couldn’t dodge him at all.
Before Zu An could reminisce about the past with her, he suddenly felt the woman in his arms becoming extraordinarily scalding, almost as if he was hugging a sun.
Boom!
Xihe roared with a reddened face, “You thug! You must have a death wish!”
You have successfully trolled Xihe for +777... +777... +777...
As she tossed out a barrage of miniature suns at Zu An, Xihe emanated a radiant light. Each of them wielded the destructive might of a meteor.
Zu An was startled. He dodged the suns while shouting, “What are you doing, Xihe? It’s me!”
“You thug! How do you know my name?” Xihe clenched her teeth in anger. She showed no inclination to stop her attacks at all. Who is this fellow? Why don't my attacks work on him?
Her fury told Zu An that something was amiss. Upon careful inspection, he realized that even though she was Xihe, her usual air of maturity was replaced with vibrant youthfulness.
“The current you still hasn’t met me yet!” Zu An suddenly burst into laughter. The stifled sensation he felt in his heart from failing to find the Goddess of Wu Mountain and Gong Suyin cleared in an instant.
There must have been a temporal deviation during my transmigration.
The current Gong Suyin hasn’t transmigrated into this world yet, and the Goddess of Wu Mountain hasn’t descended to Wu Mountain yet. That explains why I wasn’t able to find them.
Zu An’s sudden laughter made Xihe frown. “Are you insane?”
Her failure to land her attacks on Zu An only made her angrier, so she charged in and unleashed a series of lethal blows on him. It looked as if her attack was finally going to land on the other party, but for some reason, her palm passed through his body instead.
“Instantaneous movement? No...” Xihe’s heart clenched in shock.
She was about to turn around and continue her attack when the silhouette in front of her suddenly raised his hand and grabbed her wrists. Then, he circled behind her and held her hands firmly behind her back. With that, she was locked in place. She couldn’t break free no matter how she struggled.
She felt astounded and humiliated. An intense flame burst forth from her body. This was the True Solar Flame, a power capable of incinerating the world into ashes. However, Zu An’s body was like a black hole. He continuously absorbed the True Solar Flame, nullifying her attack.
“What kind of sorcery is that?” Xihe roared in shock.
Zu An had first used Primordial Mirage to turn his body ethereal, causing Xihe’s attack to pass through him instead. Then, he used the Taotie’s Heaven-Devouring Sutra to absorb her True Solar Flame. No matter how formidable a sun was, it was no match for a black hole.
Zu An’s head hurt. The current Xihe hadn’t met him yet, so he didn’t know how to explain the situation to her. He asked, “How old are you now?”
Xihe was momentarily stunned before she sneered, “Don’t you think it’s impolite to ask a woman for her age?”
“Let me switch up the question. How many children do you have?” In truth, Zu An also had no idea how old Xihe was when he first met her in the Celestial Court world.
That question infuriated Xihe. “I’m not even married yet! How would I have any children?”
“You aren’t married yet?” It was Zu An’s turn to be shocked. He had already guessed that he'd transmigrated further into the past, but he didn’t expect to go so far back.
“I shall have you know that my fiance is the renowned Emperor Jun, and that makes me the future Celestial Empress. I advise you to release me right now, or else you’ll die a tragic death!” Xihe struggled, but she was unable to struggle free of Zu An’s grasp. If anything, it felt as if she was only rubbing her body against Zu An’s body, which made her feel uncomfortable.
“You aren’t married to Emperor Jun yet?” Zu An was stunned.
“We might not be married yet, but we have already announced our engagement to the world!” Xihe spat in anger. “Who are you? Why don’t you know such common knowledge?”
Zu An looked at her with a bizarre glint in his eye. “Would you believe me if I said that I’m your future lover?”
Xihe was stumped, but then her face warped in fury. “You bastard! How dare you take advantage of me?!”
You have successfully trolled Xihe for +444... +444... +444...
Looking at her reddened face and sensing her surging body temperature, Zu An could tell that she was preparing a powerful move. He hurriedly advised her against it. “Don’t do anything rash that might hurt yourself. I’ll release you right now, but let’s have a proper chat.”
He freed her hands.
Xihe stared at Zu An in disbelief. He’s letting me go just like that?
She hurriedly summoned her golden carriage, leaped onto it, and fled into the horizon. That fellow is too strong. I’m no match for him. I should first escape from him before deciding on my next move.
This carriage was her artifact, and it was capable of moving at incredible speeds. In recent years, she had grown fond of traveling around the world using it. There was hardly anyone in the world who could catch up with her.
But then, she suddenly saw a flash of seven-colored light, and before she knew it, another person had appeared beside her. Who else could it be other than that bizarre man?
She was horrified. She was about to attack him, but Zu An looked at the carriage in nostalgia and murmured, “I can’t remember how many times I've ridden on this carriage now.”
For some reason, his wistful tone inexplicably convinced Xihe to stop her attack. “That’s impossible. I've never allowed anyone to board my carriage before.”
Zu An didn’t bother arguing with her. He looked at her calmly and remarked, “Your personality remains the same as ever—no, I should say that the current you is much happier.”
Xihe snorted, “What nonsense are you spouting? Your very existence brings me unhappiness!”
Zu An laughed, not bothering to explain himself.
The future her would suffer the pain of losing her child. She'd try to change that fate, only to realize that her efforts were in vain. There were times when she displayed happiness, but on the whole, she gave off an air of heaviness.
Zu An’s smile left Xihe dazed. She didn’t sense any malicious intent from him, so she didn’t feel an urgent need to escape from him anymore.
This could be Heaven Plunderer’s effect—it made it easier for him to win goodwill from hostile women!
“Is this how you usually deceive other women?” Xihe blurted out.
“I’m not deceiving you. I really am your future lover.” Zu An spent a moment in thought before continuing, “You have a red mole under your right breast; your ears are sensitive, and so is the back of your waist...”
“Stop!” Xihe’s face had turned completely red.
