Chapter 3598: Truly Beautiful
Xueyan watched aptly as something emerged from Lin Mu’s body.
It did not take a defined shape immediately.
At first, it was like a mass of dark mist, swirling gently yet endlessly. It had no clear boundary, no fixed form, as if it existed in a state between existence and absence.
Within that shifting darkness, faint points of light began to appear.
Four colors.
Subtle, yet unmistakable.
They shimmered like distant stars within a void, each carrying a unique presence. They did not clash, nor did they merge completely. Instead, they coexisted in a delicate, ever-changing balance.
The entire Dao Embryo looked like a fragment of the cosmos itself.
A miniature nebula, bound yet boundless.
Xueyan’s breath hitched.
"...Beautiful..." he whispered unconsciously.
He had never seen anything like it.
His own Dao Embryo was structured, precise, elegant in its design.
But this...
This was something entirely different.
It was vast.
Unfathomable.
Alive in a way that defied simple understanding.
Xueyan felt as if he was not looking at a Dao Embryo, but at space itself, condensed into a form that should not exist.
His mind struggled to comprehend it, yet he could not look away.
The threads of his own Dao Embryo trembled faintly in response, as if acknowledging something far beyond their current level.
Even without fully understanding it, Xueyan knew one thing with absolute certainty.
This...
Was on a completely different level.
And in that moment, his admiration for Lin Mu grew even deeper, his determination igniting once more.
If this was the path of space...
Then he wanted to walk it, no matter how far it went.
Xueyan stood there in complete awe, his eyes locked onto the ever-shifting mass of Lin Mu’s Dao Embryo. The shimmering lights within the dark mist seemed to pulse gently, like distant stars breathing within an endless void.
For a moment, he forgot to even blink, his entire being drawn into the sight before him.
After several seconds of silent observation, he finally found his voice again.
"H-Honored Master..." Xueyan stammered slightly, his tone filled with both reverence and excitement. "What... what kind of Spatial Dao Embryo is this?"
Lin Mu glanced at him calmly before answering.
"It is called the Four Faceted Nebula Dao Embryo."
The moment the name was spoken, something seemed to click within Xueyan’s mind. His expression shifted from pure amazement to a deeper understanding.
"...Nebula..." he repeated softly.
Now that he thought about it, it made perfect sense. What he was seeing was not simply mist or raw spatial energy. It was structured chaos, a cosmic formation resembling the very birthplaces of stars.
The swirling darkness, the scattered lights, the sense of depth that seemed to stretch infinitely... it was not just an aesthetic form. It was a representation of something far more profound.
"That’s why..." Xueyan whispered, almost to himself. "It looks so... alive."
He leaned in slightly, though still maintaining a respectful distance, his eyes scanning every detail.
But then, something else caught his attention.
His brows furrowed.
"...Wait."
He circled slightly to get a better angle, his sharp senses probing the structure carefully. The more he looked, the more confusion appeared on his face.
"Where... is the Dao Shell?" he asked.
That question immediately drew the attention of the others as well. Even Meng Bai, who did not fully understand Dao Embryos, had heard enough to know that a Dao Shell was essential.
Lin Mu answered without hesitation.
"It is there."
Xueyan blinked.
"...I don’t see it."
"It is formless," Lin Mu added.
That single statement caused Xueyan’s entire expression to freeze.
"...Formless?" he repeated, his voice rising slightly in disbelief.
His mind immediately began trying to reconcile that statement with everything he knew.
A Dao Shell existed to stabilize and protect the Dao Embryo. It was supposed to be rigid, durable, and clearly defined. It acted as a boundary, preventing the Dao Embryo from dispersing and shielding it from external interference.
A formless Dao Shell...
That contradicted everything.
"How... how can it be formless?" Xueyan asked, genuinely confused now. "If it doesn’t have a structure, how does it protect the Dao Embryo? Wouldn’t it just... dissipate?"
Lin Mu simply gestured toward the nebula-like mass.
"It is because of it that it does not dissipate," he said calmly.
Xueyan stared again, this time with a completely different perspective.
He tried to sense it, to find some kind of boundary, some layer that defined where the Dao Embryo ended and the outside space began.
But he found nothing.
And yet...
The Dao Embryo remained perfectly stable.
It did not spread.
It did not weaken.
It existed as if the space around it itself had become its shell.
Xueyan slowly exhaled, his earlier confusion giving way to something else.
Acceptance.
"...I see," he murmured, though in truth, he did not fully understand.
But he knew better than to measure Lin Mu’s abilities with conventional standards.
This was not something he could comprehend yet.
And perhaps... That was exactly why it was so extraordinary.
He shook his head lightly, clearing his thoughts before asking the next question that burned within him.
"What... can it do?" Xueyan asked, his voice once again filled with eager anticipation.
Lin Mu looked at his Dao Embryo for a brief moment before speaking.
"Like you, I have not unlocked all of its abilities," he said. "But I know the first."
Xueyan leaned forward slightly.
"The First Facet," Lin Mu continued, "Freedom of Movement: Warp."
As he spoke, one of the faint lights within the nebula flickered slightly brighter, as if responding to his words.
"It allows me to move between worlds," Lin Mu explained.
Silence fell.
Xueyan’s eyes widened slowly, his mind taking a moment to process what he had just heard.
"...Worlds?" he repeated.
Lin Mu nodded slightly.
"The lights you see within the nebula," he said, "each represent a world. Some that I have been to some I haven’t."
Xueyan’s breath hitched.
He looked again at the countless shimmering points within the dark mass.
Each one...
A world?
His thoughts nearly stalled.
"That... that means..." he struggled to form words, "you can travel to them... directly?"
