Chapter 3732: The Business Woman Awakens!
Lady Kang raised a brow.
"But not everyone can come." Lin Mu said next, making her feel confused.
"Why?"
"It is a secret." Lin Mu answered honestly. "One I cannot reveal openly."
Lady Kang thought for a few seconds before nodding.
"I’ll go."
Then she glanced behind.
"Min Ju comes too."
The maid immediately straightened.
Orders were quickly given afterward.
The fleet would remain in place while Lady Kang temporarily departed.
A little while later Lin Mu brought out his own flying ship.
Lady Kang looked at it with curiosity before boarding.
Min Ju followed silently.
The ship departed the flagship and headed toward the Runweld Barren World.
Time passed quietly.
Eventually the broken world came into view.
Lady Kang looked outside.
Her expression gradually became confused.
"Why are we here?" she asked.
Lin Mu smiled slightly.
"You’ll see soon enough."
The ship landed upon the fragment.
Lin Mu stored it away immediately afterward.
Then he took out two teleportation talismans.
Lady Kang accepted one.
Min Ju looked at it curiously.
"A teleportation talisman?" she asked.
"Yes." Lin Mu nodded.
The three activated them simultaneously.
Light engulfed everything.
A moment later the world changed.
Lady Kang immediately sensed it.
Min Ju did too.
Their expressions shifted.
The first thing they noticed was the atmosphere.
There was air.
Heat.
Fire energy.
The two women looked around.
They had arrived inside a closed hall built from dark stone.
Lady Kang narrowed her eyes.
"This place..."
Lin Mu merely walked forward.
The doors opened.
The two women stepped outside.
Then both froze.
Mantleheim spread before them.
Countless massive forges stretched into the distance. Rivers of lava flowed through carved channels across the city. Great pillars rose upward supporting bridges and platforms built at various heights.
Hammers rang endlessly.
Flames danced.
Dwarves moved everywhere.
Smoke and fire lit the vast underground world.
Min Ju stared blankly.
"What is this place...?" she muttered.
Then her eyes widened.
"Wait..."
She looked closer.
"Are those dwarves!?"
Beside her, Lady Kang’s eyes had already lit up.
Her expression visibly brightened.
"Dwarves?"
She stepped forward slightly.
"Actual dwarves?"
Lin Mu nodded.
"Indeed."
He spread his arm toward the city.
"This is Mantleheim."
"The hidden home of the dwarves."
For several seconds Lady Kang simply stood there.
Then slowly...
A bright smile appeared on her face.
The frustration from earlier disappeared instantly.
"Okay." She said immediately. "This is compensation enough."
Lin Mu laughed.
"If I knew you were living with an entire kingdom of dwarves I would have come sooner." Lady Kang said honestly.
Min Ju looked at her.
The maid already recognized that expression.
It was the same look Lady Kang had whenever she discovered a new market opportunity.
Lin Mu saw it too.
The woman’s eyes were practically glowing.
He was almost certain calculations were already happening in her mind.
Trade routes.
Ore exchange.
Weapon contracts.
Shipping agreements.
Resource acquisition.
Partnerships.
Probably three businesses and a dozen investments already.
Lady Kang looked toward the city again.
"This place..." she muttered softly.
Then she looked at Lin Mu.
"Do they trade?"
Lin Mu almost laughed immediately.
"There it is."
Min Ju sighed.
"Miss..."
Lady Kang ignored both of them.
Her eyes remained fixed on Mantleheim.
Lin Mu was entirely certain now.
The businesswoman had awakened.
And the hidden dwarven kingdom had unknowingly become her newest target.
Lin Mu quickly sent word to the Transcendent Elders first.
The monitoring alert had already spread through Mantleheim and he knew everyone was probably still somewhat cautious because of the unknown fleet outside.
A message was sent through his communication slip.
’Everything is fine. The fleet belongs to allies.’
’I have brought guests.’
’Please do not be alarmed.’
’Gather everyone in the Great Hall.’
The reply came quickly.
’Good.’
The tension that had quietly built over the last few hours began settling immediately.
Only after that did Lin Mu finally lead Lady Kang and Min Ju through Mantleheim properly.
The two women walked beside him while the city spread endlessly before them.
Mantleheim was as lively as ever.
The forges roared.
Hammers rang.
Rivers of lava flowed through carved channels beneath stone bridges.
Heat shimmered in the air while dwarves moved everywhere carrying materials, weapons and glowing ingots. Great furnaces towered like mountains while enormous chains hung overhead transporting ore between workshops.
Lady Kang looked everywhere.
The excitement in her eyes only grew.
She had seen dwarven settlements before.
The Great Kang Clan naturally dealt with many races and civilizations.
But this...
This was different.
This was not a settlement.
This was a kingdom.
A hidden kingdom.
And after only a few minutes she already realized something.
The dwarves here were far beyond ordinary.
The quality of everything around them proved it.
Her pace gradually slowed.
Then stopped entirely.
Lin Mu turned.
Lady Kang had crouched beside a workshop.
She was holding a long spear.
Her eyes widened.
"Isn’t this a Special Dwarven War Pike?" she asked in disbelief.
The weapon looked plain to Lin Mu.
Dark metal.
Heavy shaft.
Simple construction.
Lady Kang inspected it carefully.
"This sells for at least twenty thousand high grade immortal stones."
Nearby a dwarf working at an anvil turned his head.
He looked at the spear.
Then, snorted.
"That thing?"
He waved dismissively.
"Trash."
Lady Kang blinked.
The dwarf continued hammering.
"I do not even keep it beside my other works. It would dishonor them."
Silence.
Lady Kang stared at the weapon.
Then at the dwarf.
Then...
A smile appeared.
"Can I keep it?"
The dwarf shrugged.
"Take it."
Lin Mu almost laughed.
They resumed walking.
Though now Lady Kang’s pace became even slower.
Every few minutes she stopped again.
Broken weapons.
Discarded tool heads.
Slag piles.
Half finished parts.
Materials.
Everything caught her attention.
Several discarded chunks of metal alone would sell for enormous prices outside.
At one point she picked up a piece of slag.
"This still has enough purity for reprocessing."
Min Ju nodded immediately.
Another pile contained unfinished tools.
Lady Kang inspected them.
"These would sell too..."
