Chapter 3852: Pained To See Them Cook

Chapter 3852: Pained To See Them Cook

The two disciples each grabbed a boar. "Back to the clearing."

Little Bull followed them. The journey back took only a few minutes. Once they reached the clearing, the two disciples dropped the boars onto the ground and immediately began preparing them.

Lin Mu watched with interest and found that the two men were surprisingly efficient.

One disciple grabbed the boar’s hide and began tearing it away using his bare hands. The thick skin that could resist ordinary immortal weapons ripped apart under his fingers. The second disciple used the edge of his hand like a blade, chopping through joints and separating the meat.

Within minutes, both boars had been skinned. The meat was separated into massive slabs, the bones were piled to one side and the organs were placed into another pile. The first disciple gathered several broken trees from their earlier training and stacked them together.

He struck two stones against each other, producing a spark that immediately ignited the dry wood. The second disciple walked toward a large boulder and then punched it.

CRACK!

The boulder split apart!

He broke several flat pieces from the stone before carrying them toward the fire.

Little Bull watched. "What are those for?"

"Pans." The disciple placed the stone slabs over the fire.

Lin Mu stared at them as the rocks slowly heated and large slabs of boar meat were thrown directly onto the stone. The meat immediately began sizzling as the two disciples crouched beside the fire.

When one side of the meat started burning, the first disciple grabbed it with his bare hand and flipped it. Lin Mu’s brows twitched as the second disciple did the same. Neither man cared about the heat.

That part did not surprise Lin Mu, they were body cultivators. The problem was how they were cooking the meat. One slab was already black on one side. Another was still almost raw.

A third had somehow begun burning around the edges while the center remained completely uncooked.

Lin Mu stared while the two disciples looked pleased.

"Almost ready," the first disciple said.

Lin Mu looked at the meat. ’No.’

He imagined Little Shrubby standing beside him. The cat would probably be horrified.

Lin Mu had spent years eating food prepared by Little Shrubby. His tamed beast had developed his cooking skills to a frightening degree, and Lin Mu had become accustomed to meals prepared using carefully selected ingredients, spices, herbs, and cooking methods.

Watching the two disciples destroy perfectly good Root Turner Boar meat felt painful.

Little Bull finally stepped forward. "Wait."

The two disciples looked at him. "What?"

Little Bull crouched beside the fire. "I have spices."

The two disciples froze. "Spices?"

Little Bull nodded.

He reached toward the simple pendant hanging around his neck. "Storage tool, give me my spices."

The pendant flashed as several containers appeared.

"Junior Brother!" The two disciples stared. "You came prepared!"

Little Bull smiled. "Food tastes better with spices."

The first disciple nodded repeatedly. "Wise."

The second disciple looked impressed. "Very wise."

Neither man questioned where Little Bull had obtained so many spices. They had known him for less than a day. As far as they were concerned, perhaps Little Bull had carried barrels of spices from his village.

Wild Peak disciples were rarely interested in unnecessary details.

"Can I cook?" Little Bull asked.

"Go ahead." The two disciples moved aside immediately. "We’ll watch."

Lin Mu crouched beside the fire. He removed the burned slabs first as those could still be saved. He adjusted the positions of the stone pans and moved some of the burning wood, allowing the heat to spread more evenly.

The two disciples watched carefully as Little Bull took out several spices. He rubbed a mixture of crushed spirit pepper, mountain salt, and several aromatic powders into the meat. He then made several deep cuts along the thicker slabs.

"What are the cuts for?" the first disciple asked.

"Spices need to go inside." Little Bull took out several bulbs of Dragon Breath Garlic.

The two disciples recognized them immediately. "Dragon Breath Garlic?"

Little Bull nodded. He crushed the garlic into a thick paste and the paste was carefully pushed into the cuts. Then Lin Mu took out several sprigs of Fragrant Spirit Rosemary. He dipped them into a small container of oil.

The herbs were used like brushes, spreading the fragrant oil across the meat. The scent changed almost immediately and the two disciples stopped talking. Instead, they stared at the stone pans as the rich smell of roasted boar meat spread through the clearing.

The Dragon Breath Garlic added a sharp, powerful fragrance, while the Fragrant Spirit Rosemary gave the meat a refreshing herbal scent. The spices mixed with the natural aroma of the Root Turner Boar’s fatty flesh.

The first disciple swallowed.

The second disciple leaned closer. "Junior Brother."

"Yes?"

"How long?"

"A little longer."

The two disciples stared as thirty seconds passed.

"Now?"

"No."

Another minute passed.

"Now?"

"No."

The first disciple looked pained while Lin Mu flipped the meat. The surface had developed a beautiful crust.

The second disciple’s eyes widened. "Now?"

Little Bull sighed. "Wait."

The two Third Tribulation Stage Immortal realm body cultivators sat beside the fire like hungry children.

Finally, Lin Mu removed the first slab. "Ready."

Two hands moved and the meat disappeared. Little Bull blinked, only to realize the two disciples had already torn the slab in half before biting into it.

Lin Mu watched them as the first disciple’s eyes widened and the second disciple stopped chewing.

Then they looked at each other. "Junior Brother."

Little Bull raised his brows.

"This is incredible." The two began eating.

Lin Mu quickly realized he had underestimated them as the massive slab disappeared within seconds.

"More!"

"Junior Brother, more!"

"I’m cooking."

"Cook faster!"

Little Bull sighed as he placed another slab on the stone pan. The two disciples watched him and the moment it was ready, they grabbed it. Lin Mu started another, then another but the two seniors ate faster than he could cook.

"Slow down," Little Bull said.

"Can’t."

"Too good."

Lin Mu shook his head.

Buzz Buzz

The last pieces of their current serving were almost gone when two buzzing sounds suddenly came from the disciples.
