Chapter 3862: Return To Primordial Path
The Peak Head’s words made several questions arise in the Elders’ minds.
"Then how did they cultivate?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.
"They gathered vitality." That was all Peak Head Mountain Roar said.
High Elder Shatter Peak waited.
Peak Head Mountain Roar looked at him.
High Elder Shatter Peak waited longer.
"That’s it?" he finally asked.
"That’s it."
High Elder Palm Saber blinked.
Peak Head Mountain Roar chuckled. "The first body cultivators simply gathered vitality and allowed their bodies to absorb it. Their physiques decided how that vitality was used. Their flesh strengthened naturally. Their bones changed naturally. Their organs adapted naturally."
"That sounds incredibly crude." High Elder Palm Saber said.
"It was." Peak Head Mountain Roar agreed. "It was also limitless."
Lin Mu’s mind shook.
’Primordial Path.’ He had never expected to hear those words again.
The first cultivation method Lin Mu had ever used had been the Primordial Path.
Back then, he had been an ignorant peasant who knew almost nothing about cultivation. He had simply sensed Qi and absorbed it into his body without understanding proper circulation methods.
It was Xukong who later explained what he had accidentally done.
The Primordial Path of Qi cultivation was ancient. It was primitive and crude, yet it possessed one great advantage.
It imposed no limits.
And now, after all these years, Lin Mu was being advised to follow a similar path for body cultivation.
’Senior.’ Lin Mu called internally.
’Quite amusing.’ Xukong replied.
Lin Mu almost laughed. ’First Qi cultivation. Now body cultivation.’
’Perhaps you have an affinity for primitive methods.’ Xukong joked.
Lin Mu focused on Peak Head Mountain Roar.
"Little Bull’s physique is already doing the difficult work." The Peak Head continued. "We don’t understand it. Forcing it to follow a cultivation technique could interfere with its natural development."
High Elder Shatter Peak slowly nodded. "So we let the physique decide."
"Exactly." Peak Head Mountain Roar replied. "We teach him how to gather vitality. Nothing more."
High Elder Palm Saber looked at Little Bull. "And his body... will temper itself?"
"That is my expectation."
"How fast?"
Peak Head Mountain Roar smiled. "Considering his current strength?"
The old man looked directly at Little Bull. "Very fast."
High Elder Shatter Peak’s eyes brightened. "How fast?"
Peak Head Mountain Roar stroked his beard. "With proper guidance and sufficient resources, I believe he can rapidly ascend through the Spirit Realm."
High Elder Palm Saber inhaled deeply. "And the Immortal Realm?"
Peak Head Mountain Roar’s smile widened. "Perhaps sooner than any of us expect."
The two High Elders stared at Little Bull while he stared back. Lin Mu, meanwhile, felt incredibly pleased.
This was perfect.
He would not need to fake a complicated cultivation technique. He would not need to reproduce specific circulation paths. He would not need to worry about an Elder examining his progress and discovering inconsistencies.
All Lin Mu had to do was slowly adjust his displayed vitality and allow Xukong to loosen the Abyssal Horizon Veil Seal in carefully controlled stages.
To everyone else, Little Bull would appear to be progressing through the ancient body cultivation path at a monstrous speed.
’This might be the best possible outcome.’ Lin Mu thought.
Xukong chuckled. ’Indeed.’
Little Bull scratched his head. "So I just gather vitality?"
Peak Head Mountain Roar nodded.
"And then?"
"Gather more."
Little Bull blinked. "And then?"
"More."
Little Bull thought seriously. "That’s easy."
Peak Head Mountain Roar grinned. High Elder Shatter Peak laughed. And High Elder Palm Saber shook his head with amusement. None of them realized just how correct Little Bull was.
For Lin Mu, it truly was going to be incredibly easy.
Peak Head Mountain Roar did not waste much time after deciding on the cultivation path Little Bull would follow.
The old man stood from his massive stone throne, causing the seat to creak faintly as the weight pressing upon it disappeared, before walking over to an open section of the hall. High Elder Shatter Peak and High Elder Palm Saber moved aside as well, both of them watching with considerable interest.
Neither of them had personally practiced the Primordial Path of body cultivation, and while they had heard of its existence through ancient records, there was a large difference between reading about an ancient method and seeing someone actually use it.
"Come here, child." Peak Head Mountain Roar said.
Little Bull walked over.
"Sit."
Little Bull immediately sat cross legged upon the stone floor.
Peak Head Mountain Roar lowered himself beside him and placed one hand against Little Bull’s back. His expression became serious as he began explaining the method.
"The name Primordial Path sounds impressive." Peak Head Mountain Roar said. "Some ancient records describe it with flowery words and claim it was the path followed by the ancestors of body cultivation. Ignore all of that."
Little Bull looked over his shoulder. "Ignore it?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
High Elder Shatter Peak nodded approvingly. "Good advice."
High Elder Palm Saber glanced at him. "You didn’t even read those records."
"I read half."
"You tore the other half while turning a page."
"The book was weak."
High Elder Palm Saber closed his eyes.
Peak Head Mountain Roar ignored the two High Elders and continued speaking.
"The Primordial Path is simple." The Peak Head stated. "In fact, it is so simple that many people accidentally practice parts of it without ever knowing its name."
Little Bull scratched his head. "Then why isn’t everyone using it?"
"Because simple does not mean easy." Peak Head Mountain Roar replied.
Little Bull stared at him while Peak Head Mountain Roar stared back. Lin Mu almost sighed internally. The old man seemed to realize that the explanation had not helped Little Bull much.
"Your body has vitality." Peak Head Mountain Roar said.
Little Bull nodded.
"A lot of vitality."
Little Bull nodded again.
"But that vitality is moving."
Little Bull looked down at his body. "Moving?"
"Constantly." Peak Head Mountain Roar replied. "Vitality flows through the body. Its concentration changes depending on what you are doing. When you run, more vitality naturally gathers within your legs. When you punch, vitality flows toward your arms. When you eat, your digestive organs become active and draw vitality."
