Chapter 3868: Heading To Rain Dragon Lake
Lin Mu began using the method Peak Head Mountain Roar had taught him.
Of course, he did not truly need the Primordial Path. His control over vitality was already at a level most body cultivators could never hope to reach.
The Absolute Body Control Art had granted him an almost absurd understanding of his physical form, and after years of practicing it, Lin Mu could consciously manipulate parts of his body that ordinary cultivators barely understood.
Guiding vitality into his muscles was simple and saturating his organs was even simpler. The real difficulty came from pretending that it was difficult.
Lin Mu slowly gathered a small amount of vitality into his right arm. He deliberately allowed the energy to scatter several times before drawing it back together. Occasionally, he even made the vitality surge too strongly, causing the muscles of his arm to twitch.
To an observer, it looked exactly like a beginner struggling with vitality control.
Internally, Lin Mu felt rather strange.
’I haven’t pretended to be this bad at cultivation in a long time.’ Lin Mu thought.
"You should enjoy it." Xukong replied. "There are countless cultivators who would willingly surrender half their lifespan to have your current problems."
’Pretending to be incompetent?’
"Having to deliberately slow your cultivation because you progress too easily."
Lin Mu could not argue with that, so he continued practicing. About an hour later, someone finally passed through the area. It was a large Wild Peak disciple carrying an entire tree upon his shoulder.
The tree was nearly fifty meters long, and its roots were still covered in dirt. The man seemed to have simply ripped it out of the ground somewhere and was now casually carrying it through the forest.
The disciple noticed Little Bull. "Oh! Junior Brother!"
Little Bull opened his eyes. "Hello."
"What are you doing?"
"Training."
The disciple dropped the tree and the ground shook. Little Bull looked at the tree but the disciple ignored it entirely.
"What are you training?" The man asked.
"The Primordial Path."
The man’s expression became blank. "The... what?"
"Primordial Path."
The disciple scratched his head. "Never heard of it."
Little Bull nodded. "Peak Head taught me."
The man’s eyes widened. "Oh!"
His entire attitude changed. "If Peak Head taught you, then it must be good."
The disciple crouched beside Little Bull and stared at his arm. "What are you doing with your vitality?"
"Putting it everywhere."
The disciple frowned. "Everywhere?"
Little Bull nodded. "Peak Head said my vitality is like bricks."
The disciple became even more confused. "Bricks?"
"I have bricks. I need to build a house."
The disciple stared at Little Bull and he stared back. Eventually, the disciple nodded. "Sounds profound."
Lin Mu nearly lost control of his expression, realizing the man genuinely believed him.
"Try relaxing your muscles more." The disciple suggested. "Vitality naturally flows better when your muscles aren’t tense."
Little Bull nodded. "Okay."
The disciple watched for a few minutes before remembering the tree he had dropped. "Good luck, Junior Brother!"
"Thank you."
The man picked up the tree and walked away while Lin Mu continued cultivating. More disciples passed through over the next few hours. Some merely waved while others stopped to watch.
One senior sister spent nearly half an hour explaining how Little Bull should visualize his vitality as warm water flowing through his body. Another disciple disagreed with her and claimed vitality should be imagined as molten iron.
The two nearly started arguing and Little Bull listened to both. Eventually, a third disciple arrived and declared that imagining anything was stupid.
"You just move it." The third disciple said.
"How?" Little Bull asked.
"You tell it to move."
"How?"
The disciple opened his mouth, then he closed it. "I don’t know."
Little Bull nodded seriously but the disciple looked mildly offended. Still, by the time several hours had passed, more than a dozen disciples had seen Little Bull practicing. A few had even felt the fluctuations of vitality coming from his body.
Lin Mu considered that enough and slowly opened his eyes. ’That should establish things.’
"Quite thoroughly." Xukong replied. "Half the Peak will probably hear about your cultivation method before night."
Lin Mu stood and stretched his arms. Then he looked toward the distant forest as a grin slowly appeared upon Little Bull’s face.
"Surely running and exploring counts as training too." Lin Mu muttered.
Xukong chuckled. "It certainly can."
That was all the encouragement Lin Mu needed. He left the clearing and quickly headed down the Wild Peak. Lin Mu did not use Phase and he did not summon Little Shrubby either. Instead, Little Bull began running.
His large feet slammed against the earth as he accelerated through the forest. Whenever a massive root blocked his path, he leaped over it. When cliffs appeared, he jumped from ledge to ledge.
Soon, Lin Mu was traveling through the forest with surprising speed and used the trees whenever possible.
Little Bull leaped from one massive branch to another, covering hundreds of meters at a time. The ancient trees of the Wild Peak were strong enough to withstand his weight, though several branches still bent dangerously whenever he landed.
Within a short time, Lin Mu reached the lower regions of the mountain. He landed upon the paved road and the stone beneath his feet cracked slightly. But soon a faint glow spread across the ground as the Thousand Fold Rock Birth Array repaired the damage.
Lin Mu glanced back. ’Useful array.’
He then started running again, as his destination had already been decided.
’Let’s see what the Rain Dragon Lake holds.’ Lin Mu remembered the massive lake he had seen while traveling with the Administrative Division disciples.
Even from a distance, the place had looked ominous as dark clouds permanently covered the lake and the waters churned violently. It was precisely the kind of place Lin Mu wanted to investigate.
The Vault of the Virtuous Calamity Daoist was unlikely to be hidden somewhere ordinary. Lady Kang’s information suggested that the vault had been concealed somewhere within the Heavenly Stream Guardian World for an extremely long time.
A forbidden zone was a reasonable location. The Emperor Rock had already produced something valuable, even if it had nothing to do with the vault. Perhaps the Rain Dragon Lake would provide another clue.
