Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 6802 Possession?

Chapter 6802 Possession?

A sense of foreboding seized the Dark Master, and he detonated all of his dark energy. Since his wisp of soul could not overpower the primal chaos bead, he decisively tried to escape.

He had uncovered Long Chen's secret, but unless this soul fragment returned to his true body, that knowledge would be lost.

Countless law runes converged in this space, weaving a net that tightened swiftly.

All the dark runes were trapped. It did not matter where the Dark Master’s soul hid—there was no escape.

Space quivered. Those dark runes were finally compressed into a pitch-black spider diagram.

Long Chen was delighted, thinking that the primal chaos bead had managed to seal the Dark Master’s soul.

However, as he approached the spider rune, he sensed no trace of the Dark Master’s soul, only lingering dark laws.

“Damn, did he escape?” Long Chen turned pale.

The Dark Master now knew the secret of the primal chaos bead, calling it the Ten Planar Dao Bead. He would stop at nothing to seize it. Soon, there would be nowhere for Long Chen to hide in the nine heavens or ten lands.

Then, Long Chen saw black dust scattering. Faint fluctuations of the Dark Master’s soul still lingered within.

“No, his soul didn’t escape. He destroyed it to keep his secrets hidden. How ruthless!”

The Dark Master was probably at a critical stage in his recovery, like Lord Brahma. This soul strand likely held great importance.

Losing it would significantly set back his recovery.

But still, the Dark Master did not hesitate to destroy it. Either he could recover this loss quickly, or this soul fragment concealed secrets he could not allow Long Chen to discover. Regardless, he made the sacrifice without hesitation.

In the end, it was over. Long Chen was still alive and exhaled deeply.

Looking around, he saw that the primal chaos space was devastated: The earth cracked, the vegetation withered, the Moon Trees and Fusang Trees were broken and strewn across the ground.

After the battle to protect the Tiger Venerate line, the primal chaos space brimmed with life energy.

Now, a single fragment of the Dark Master’s soul had reduced it to a wasteland. Long Chen had never seen the primal chaos space in such a bad shape.

“Well, I got the rune in the end. That’s something, isn’t it?”

Long Chen eyed the rune encased in primal chaos energy and smiled wryly. He had at least survived. It was something to be grateful for.

Long Chen left the primal chaos space and found the plaza in chaos. The Seven Treasure Colored Glass Tree had vanished, leaving everyone—including Bai Yujing—confused.

Moments ago, they had been fighting in the Seven Treasure Space. But then, they were expelled without warning.

“Everyone, I apologize. I promised seven days, but something unexpected happened. I can’t continue the sixth day. If there’s a chance in the future, I’ll make it up to you,” Long Chen said.

However, no one paid his words any attention. A strange black aura was oozing out of his body, causing everyone to stare at him in horror.

This black aura rooted them in place, shaking their souls. When they saw it, the most primal fear within them surfaced.

“Long Chen, you should rest! There’s not much difference between six days and seven. Our heavenly geniuses have passed the baptism of death. Even if you gave them ten more days, it wouldn’t be as effective as these six days. Don’t worry about us!” Bai Yujing replied hastily.

She didn’t know what had happened, but she guessed that something untoward had just occurred.

Earlier, Bai Yujing had suppressed the emissary for Long Chen. As the emissary’s aura waned, Bai Yujing felt a presence that made her soul recoil in fear.

It felt as if a pair of ominous eyes had glanced at her—one look, and her soul nearly shattered.

Afterward, she was expelled from the Seven Treasure Space. Instantly, she linked the black aura seeping from Long Chen to those ominous eyes.

Long Chen nodded—he truly needed rest. The Dark Master had let him escape only to follow him back. Though the Dark Master’s soul fragment was destroyed, Long Chen remained tainted by the Dark Master’s aura and will. It was a lingering threat.

If he failed to erase it, the Dark Master could one day trace him by that aura.

With the primal chaos bead badly damaged, Long Chen could only rely on himself. After bidding everyone farewell, Long Chen returned to his residence. Before he could consume a medicinal pill, a wave of dizziness struck him, and he passed out.

The moment Long Chen fell unconscious, black qi poured from his body, coalescing into a figure before him.

That figure was the Dark Master.

The Dark Master looked at the unconscious Long Chen and said, “So, the Ten Planar Dao Bead is in your hands. It’s been hidden for countless years. In the end, the nine heavens and ten lands refuse to fall easily. Is this their final gamble?

“Unfortunately, the destiny of the nine heavens and ten lands has reached an end. Their chosen one accidentally came to my inner space—perhaps that’s fate.

“It’s a good thing I left this contingency plan in place. Splitting part of my soul to hide in his while following him was not easy, but it allowed me to trick the Ten Planar Dao Bead’s senses.

“Unfortunately, this piece of my soul cannot directly return to my true body. But I suppose I can possess him for now.”

Black flames burst out of the Dark Master. Layer upon layer of complex diagrams formed, filling the space with dark runes.

The dark runes then condensed into black hands. But before the Dark Master could form hand seals, the void boomed.

When his gaze landed on Long Chen again, he let out a cry of shock.

At some point, Long Chen had risen from the ground, his white robes untouched by a single speck of dust. A pair of black eyes stared back at the Dark Master.
