Chapter 7163 Fighting Freely
The coalition army had immediately reacted to the vice gate master’s orders, and two battle formations had formed, moving the first academy’s disciples from the flanks.
In response, Long Chen had given no orders or directions. Miao Yin also didn’t seem to do anything; she merely stood at the center of the academy’s army and looked on. However, the academy’s disciples were already switching formations. By the time that the two flank attacks reached them, their long, snaking formation had turned circular.
Miao Yin eyed everyone’s shocked expressions with contempt.
The academy’s disciples had experienced the terror of the battlefield in the Seven Treasure Space. The thousands of deaths that they experienced forced them to develop much sharper perception. How could they not notice something so obvious?
Moreover, although the enemy army outnumbered them immensely, compared to the Seven Treasure Space which was packed full of experts, there was much more space to maneuver. In addition, the Seven Treasure Space’s creatures were all crazy, suicidal freaks. In comparison, the disciples attacking them might as well be sheep.
There was no need for directions. The minute they sensed the pressure changing around them, the academy’s disciples automatically switched formations. This was not something anyone had taught them; it was something that they had developed after experiencing many deaths. They had gained this skill in order to survive.
Now they understood what Long Chen had told them. The strong became strong because they had no other choice. If they weren’t strong enough, they would die.
The circular formation was like a spinning blade. Those two battle formations were immediately wiped out.
These battle formations moving in from the flanks had consisted of the best elites among the army;. Their goal had been to bisect the academy’s army, splitting it into smaller, more manageable groups. However, even those powerful elites were instantly slaughtered. The gap between the two sides was now fully apparent. The moment those people entered the attack range of the academy’s disciples, they were nothing more than lambs for the slaughter.
The higher-ups were all shocked by this, and quickly gave out instructions to their disciples. But as a result, their side only grew even more chaotic. The worst thing on the battlefield was to have too many commanders giving different instructions. The disciples began to move like headless flies, and ended up decimated. Moreover, although there was no lack of commanders with tactical knowledge here, the truth was that none of the instructions that they gave were of any use. The academy’s disciples quickly adapted to any shift in the battlefield.
It went without saying that the Seven Treasure Space was the harshest, most savage training space for the academy’s disciples. But at the same time, it provided them with the fastest growth. Even though their formations could not compare to the Dragonblood Legion’s, it was definitely exceedingly rare to see a group of over eight million capable of switching formations and coordinating like this with no one directing them and very little direct communication.
The disciples of the academy were like tigers slaughtering a flock of sheep. The land was dyed red with blood. The higher-ups could no longer sit still.
“We have to break their formation! Otherwise, even if we win, we won’t have many disciples left!” said one of the Corpse Devil Sect’s elders through clenched teeth. These disciples were the actual core of each sect’s young generation. They were not the cannon fodder that they had sent out before. The death of every single one of these disciples was as painful as having a chunk of flesh cut off.
The academy’s disciples were completely unstoppable. In just an incense stick’s worth of time, tens of millions of elite disciples had been slain. Even while massively overnumbered, they were cutting through the coalition army like a hot knife through butter. Furthermore, the academy’s formation was still in perfect form; they hadn’t lost a single person!
What kind of absurd casualty report was that? Every single one of the coalition’s elders was enraged and panicking inside.
“We can’t keep hesitating! This kind of stupid fight was meaningless in the first place! We will break their formation apart with brute force, and then they’ll be powerless. Killing them all will just be a matter of time!” declared one of the demon race’s experts.
At this moment, everyone looked towards the vice gate master. This was a gamble, and they had no choice but to gamble. Their elites were on the battlefield, but their peak heavenly geniuses were still being kept hidden. After all, those peak geniuses were being raised as the future leaders of their factions. They would be their future. Unless they had no choice, the higher-ups wouldn’t let them risk their lives.
However, the academy’s disciples were too powerful, and even the morale difference was growing. Right now, the coalition army was losing tremendous numbers without even managing to crack apart the formation, and they could not possibly afford to keep taking such losses.
If that happened, then morale would continue to plummet until people began to flee in terror. The moment anyone fled, the entire joint army would collapse, and at that point, their defeat would be set in stone.
They couldn’t afford to lose.
The vice gate master clenched his teeth and took a deep breath. “We have no other choice. We must kill them. Attack!”
The higher-ups quickly passed down the order. Terrifying auras suddenly surged into the sky; heaven and earth changed color. Finally, the major factions were no longer holding back. Their final trump card was coming out—these were the greatest heavenly geniuses that they had raised.
There were just thousands of them, almost nothing in comparison to the astronomical numbers of the army, but they immediately charged towards the battlefield like shooting stars, radiating boundless killing intent.
“Oh, you’re finally getting serious?”
Long Chen smiled disdainfully. If they had let things continue, they would have lost even more disciples without even probing the true power of the academy’s disciples.
“Miao Yin, this is the real fight. Go ahead and fight freely. You don’t need to hold back at all. Don’t worry about others seeing your limits. In fact, what you should worry about is you not seeing them. You can only think about surpassing your limits once you know them well. Doing that again and again is the key to getting stronger!” transmitted Long Chen.
Long Chen saw some of his old self in Miao Yin. She liked to conserve her trump cards. That was because she had no backer, so she had to be careful and secretive about her true strength. But ever since his Dao comprehension, Long Chen saw his future clearer than ever, so he had put some of the old caution aside.
Miao Yin might not have had a backer that allowed her to fight freely before, but now she did.
When she heard Long Chen’s encouragement, her eyes lit up. Her azure robes transformed into a fiery-red dress, and scarlet flames swirled around her. The temperature suddenly soared. Miao Yin seemed to be a blazing sun in the sky, and everyone in the battlefield suddenly felt as if they were facing the hottest day of summer.
With a wave of her hand, a bow covered in blood-colored runes appeared. When Miao Yin pulled back the string, the Grand Dao collapsed. The power of the flame laws of the world was instantly sucked into her bow.
“Thousand Scorching Suns!”
Her bow twanged. Thousands of arrows made of pure flame laws tore through space, shooting towards the newcomers.
